12/12/22 Lower Body
Warm Up = Maxx Trainer x 6 minutes
Rotary Torso Twists - 2 high rep sets to wake up the core
Abductors - 190 x RPE 8-9 x 5 sets - just getting some volume and in and getting the glutes firing
Hammer Strength 45 degree leg press - 4px15, 6px15, 8px15, 10p x15, 15, 15, 15 - the last 3 sets got pretty challenging, the normal Leg press I use is about a 35 degree so this one is harder. Even with that I was able to go up higher for reps, so my lower back is definitely improving.
Hyper Extensions 5 sets of 8-12 reps RPE8-10 - Getting the lower back engaged safely, performed with a lot of control, ended up trembling while holding at the top for a couple second per rep.
Crunches 4 sets until almost cramping
I am happy with this session, I got what I needed to get done done. Showed a good bit of improvement as far as my lower back. I think I will be ready to give some squatting a shot when I get back from my anniversary trip with the wife. Nothing major at first but getting a little weight on my back nonetheless.
Legs were ridiculously pumped and I left the gym walking like Frankenstein so was happy with this one. I chose not to do any leg extensions as my tendon over my knee is a little tight from going heavier and pushing them harder while not squatting. I think the rest and some extra calories while on my trip will allow for some recovery and maybe even a little more growth during the rest time. I highly doubt I will take any time to go to the gym during our trip. At most maybe some push ups and bodyweight lower body stuff if that. Diet will be free during these days but I will likely incorporate some fasting unless the wife wants to go get breakfast. That will at least give me more room for calories for lunch and dinner.
