Lol I have tried to take him to the gym and give him as small workout...he couldn’t move for like two weeks...hasn’t been back since.

I have the same issues with my wife. She doesn't like it, doesn't understand it and has no problem pointing out what a waste of time (in her opinion) it is. I would have thought that having a 54 year old husband who is in relatively decent shape would have made her happy, but apparently not.

I honestly think that a big part of all of that with spouses is that they simply hate having ANYTHING that competes with them for our time! They may not even actually want our attention but they DO want to feel like the priority in our lives. The dedication fitness requires means it has to be prioritized too, and they simply do not like when that priority takes precedence over them or one of their priorities since they do not value ours (lifting).
I definitely think this plays a big role...even when it’s while they’re sleeping! Smh Lol

They are just never happy. I used to be pretty built, but recently lost a lot of muscle. My wife loves pointing out how much smaller I am now, but gets mad when I go to the gym. It makes no sense to me. Just can't win.

That stinks! So frustrating!

Man that sucks. My wife was the opposite. She always supported my working out.(except when we dating 27 years ago she had a little problem with me choosing the gym over her sometimes) about 2 years ago she was like I want to go to the gym. Will you make me a workout and teach me. I was like sure. Now she is hooked and when I need a day off she calls me a puss!

My wife does see the point of it and is happy that I am health-focused, I believe, but she still brings up how I'm "never home" despite only being at the gym usually 1.5 hours 5 days per week. She also tries to get me to skip the gym regularly and is especially unrelenting when we are supposed to do something on a weekend day and I bring up how I need to work out before we do that thing. I think a lot of it stems from her not having a real hobby. When I leave her alone at the house, she watches TV or messes around on her phone. Once that gets old, she sits there bored or falls asleep. I wish I could make her get into painting or something... Lol.

I tried that one. I can get her to walk and even hike if it's under 4 hours, but she has no interest in weightlifting or going to the gym. I will keep trying, of course, but she is very persistent.

I started my wife with walking a dieting, and now thats shes seeing a little change she starting going to the gym, just not with me. She wants to work into that and have me build her a plan

You hit it on the head right here brother!!!! You forgot to mention that the boredom then becomes your fault for not being there to entertain her.

You know what you never find? Someone busy with their own hobby worrying about how much time someone else is spending on theirs...

Why not offer up other options for her. Yoga, Pilates, or a dance class.... just a few as far as physical things... If there is a craft you have heard her mention it would be fun to do, go sign her up for a 6 week class as a surprise. Honey remember when you said you wish you could paint... I signed you up for a beginners paint class for 6 weeks. If you like it you can keep going...

My wife doesn't any more, she actually knows I am happier and more stable when I am in the gym regularly. She has seen me slide down the slippery slope into no motivation, and becoming progressively more stressed out and less pleasant to be with. So if I fall off she pushes me back into it, if I try to stay home too often she will tell me I want you here too, but you need to go the the gym. You won't be happy with yourself later if you don't.

Today’s workout was pretty much crap but I am excited to say, I am officially at the lowest weight I’ve been for 18+ months!!! Still a long ways to my goal but celebrating small victories!!

Same! I love Mexican food! We love finding the small authentic restaurants! Luckily one margarita does me in- my tolerance is so low lol

Can't do fajitas. I absolutely hate green peppers!! One of my favorite Mexican restaurants serves Molcajete, which is kinda like fajitas with steak, chicken, chorizo and shrimp with nopales. Good stuff

As of yesterday, I’m starting to pack...I haven’t really been using any supplements except Radiate for several months. I started packing my cabinets up and it made me realize just how MANY things I have! Going to need 2-3 boxes.
