Kat first of all very good on the squats, the only thing I saw is that it was your core where you were showing the most pressure. It was fairly minor but if you are looking for ways to strengthen that would be a good place to start. Killer job though. Most of us are going to encounter some core issues from time to time.

Good morning! I hope you all had a great weekend! Our was great! Very busy!

Got to the gym about 15-20 mins after 5am this morning so a little later than planned...of course with it being national chest day, all of the benches were taken...decided to switch to DB bench instead of waiting on a bar. I was very surprised at how many sets I was able to complete with the 50's! Last time I used DB's 50X8 was my max and that was just 1 set! Woohoo!!! I was stoked! Even had a guy come across the gym to give me a fist bump and told me "You rocked that"! Haha

Planned on videoing today but there were a ton of people in there so I didn't get to.

Kat it is not that serious but core work would do what you need to get rid of that tiny hitch. Your squats are really good but to make them even better I believe some extra core work would really help. Planks, wheel of death etc... That could be said about almost anybody though.
 
I think kids say this every year, to a certain age... which is awesome!

Kat it is not that serious but core work would do what you need to get rid of that tiny hitch. Your squats are really good but to make them even better I believe some extra core work would really help. Planks, wheel of death etc... That could be said about almost anybody though.

It's just a little hitch, a really strong core will give you a ton of confidence through, can't lose.

The single rear delts with the db's I find you release tension if you bring back the db all the way. I only bring it back to just before I lose tension. It's easier with the cable as it keeps tension all the way through.

Yes on your way down I stop where there is still tension. I try to keep tension throughout the movement and use 0 inertia.
 
If using db's I've found doing both arms and bringing the scapulas back hits them better than singles also.
 
With rear delts you have two choices for optimal contraction. You can squeeze your shoulder blades together so they can't move or help the rear delts because they are already fully contracted. The other is to protract you your scapula (shoulder blade) and keep it protracted IE in a stretch so it can not help the rear delts. Protraction is simply rolling your shoulders forward as if you were reaching forward. Once you have yourself in that position don't move your back, just move the arm back, it will not go all the way back so that your arms are even with your shoulders doing it that way. If you do go further back you have to move your scapula which is when you are bringing the traps back into the movement. So either start with the traps on a stretch and keep them there, or start with them contracted and stay that way.

By the way these videos really show your size / muscularity, very impressive!

I'm a big fan of spread eagle (weighted) sit-ups because they hit the whole core and hip flexors. Might attract some attention that way though lol
 
Lol, I was so tired on the stairs that I tried to move my screen up by blowing on it. I totally spaced out for a bit.
 
10.4 lbs down but I'm still a big girl. I love/hate you, cardio! Sometimes you have to go back to what worked for you, sometimes you have to go back to the beginning and do it all over again. :) it's not considered failure, just detours.
