Thank you! Me too! It turned out better than I thought. Only thing I wish is that I could see it without a mirror. 🤣

Great stuff! I like the chipotle one, which Costco carries.
I think I overdid it. Lol, I’m tired of it already, although I did buy some more this morning. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Easy to do, for sure. Stuff is addictive. It lasts a long while In fridge. The affection will return!

I like the cilantro flavor more. But I have a weird a** palette for food anyway.

Saltine crackers or rice cake with vegetable cream cheese
Yogurt with pork rinds
Pickle juice

I have a dilemma:

Last week was super crazy! I had almost 10 interviews left and right, this week I will be having more. Some will be first interviews and some are seconds. My background is in HR and accounting, so my goal was to grow in that industry, but…. my doctorate is in Leadership.

I’ve been interviewing for leadership roles, as well as HR roles. Not surprisingly, these leadership roles pay a lot more. I’m just not sure which way to go. Stay and grow in an industry (I’m kinda tired of) or go another route. Should I go for the money or the title? Help…..

What is your passion ??
This
Don't chase the money. Chase something you are passionate about, what you will ENJOY doing, and what puts a smile on your face. If you just end up chasing money down the line you are going to burn out, hate the work environment, and it will make you torn. One of the biggest mistakes people can make when choosing a career. Pursue what you have a "Passion" for. Not what will help the paycheck. You will be more inclined to show up everyday instead of having work stress and your daily anxiety stay a lot lower.

To retire… Or, work remotely so I can live off the grid in a Sprinter.

Thanks, Bob. Honestly, I’d give it all up to be a flight attendant. I’d take the major pay cut for it. But long term, I’d like to be a leader, not in just one department but the whole organization. I need to find a balance right now and just need to be in an organization that will help me develop with room to grow.

I had a taste of HR and I hate it. I absolutely hate accounting also. I am only pursuing them because that’s what my education is in…..so it’s all for the wrong reasons.

hey @puccah8808 , it’s rare on here that I have a chance to comment on something I actually know about that isn’t anabolic, training or nutrition based 😂. But I spent 10 years in recruitment and I’m currently a business leader in a massive multi billion dollar corporate so I have a bit of insight into career stuff and they areas your looking at.

Bob is 💯 right about doing the role you enjoy by the way, life is far to short and we spend too much of it at work to not enjoy that time as best as we can.

however, there is also nothing wrong with doing a role because it pays well and you enjoy what the money can do for you (I do this, it took me many years to admit I was materialistic as it’s sounds rubbish but I am, I like nice things so I found the job I didn’t mind that could pay me the most money).

leadership is a really big area though….typically whole business leaders have a niche. Some are turnaround specialists coming into failing businesses and turning them round in 3 years before leaving, some are specialists in being a steady pair off hands, some specialise in taking SME’s to corporate, some in preparing a business for sale.

the key thing will be your track record to actually getting the role, after that obviously it’s all the stuff you’ll know how to do (getting the people brought into the journey, fostering a productive culture etc)

what’s your leadership experience like?

Yes, I’m all over the place.

Thanks, Whisky. I guess I have to admit that I’m constantly chasing that pretty dollar; never feeling like I’ve made it until I make enough to not think about money. I’m about to be 40 this year (why the f am I still in school?) and feel like I have not accomplished much of anything (career wise).

I just want to feel like everything I’ve worked so hard for (school, work) is finally paying off, then I can say F all this and move on. I have years of leadership experience in different industries but it’s all mediocre stuff. I know I’m all over the place in what I want, but ultimately, just a nice career that my old a** can retire from (at the top and all). You know, kinda like you.

That's awesome @puccah8808 as long as you can live comfortably after that a good work environment is the most important.

Thanks, Red. I’m still going to the 3 interviews on Wednesday. Just… you know…. No regrets. I’ve been really blessed these last few years and my job has been good to me, but I didn’t spend all this money on my education to go nowhere. I need at least an opportunity to try.

Good for you!!! You made the right decision! It’s hard to remember it’s not all about the money but enjoying and having pride in what you do is so much more rewarding in the long run!

I ordered a belt over 2 months ago and it’s still in “production.” Is this **** for real?! 🤬
Ugh!!! I can’t believe you are still waiting! That was one of the reasons I went with the off brand. Although yours will far outlast mine in the long run 🤣

Hey guys, I’m still at it. Just focusing on my health currently. I’ve still been training as usual. Had some blood work done as well as hormone tests. Long story short, I believe that these baby steps are slowly leading me to answers I’ve needed for 8 years!!

Let me try to give a summary-
Hormone panel showed that my adrenals have been overworked. Cortisol is crapped out. Melatonin is reversed(high in am/low in pm) Estrogen and Test are both on the low end but okay for the time being. Progesterone is super low. (Is 20 and should be around 300)

Current treatment for that is compounded BHRT progesterone and an adrenal complex supplement with bovine adrenal gland.

Yearly bloodwork showed thyroid levels to still be off- so increase in those meds as well.

Lipid levels were high as well as blood sugar levels borderline prediabetic - so I reached out to a friend that referred me to a NP that specializes in cardiology, metabolic health, and hormones. She is setting me up with a cardiologist to get a full work up. Both the high cholesterol and diabetes are hereditary issues that I have been trying to prevent- but obviously genes play a huge role.

They all agreed that I’ve been over training and need to take some pretty big steps back on training for a bit to allow my adrenals to recover. They’re pushing hard for yoga and walking. 🤣 I’ll probably start with just cutting volume and go from there.

I think that pretty much sums it up. I can post bloodwork or tell more if anyone wants to know more. Haha

Good you have some answers Kat and can set up a plan of action to get things corrected. Definitely just try cutting back the volume but keep the weight training in for sure.

Thanks guys! If anything, I’m happy …to have answers…to be on the right track and finally know why I have felt the way I have for years. I’ve had so many Drs just look at me 🤷🏼‍♀️ confused/like I was crazy and just send me on my way. As my weight has climbed year after year and I just thought I needed to work harder/try harder/cut more calories…just learning how detrimental that was and that my body is only going to keep fighting me if I don’t change. Like I told my mom, it’s not like it’s something major- it’s more I want to feel optimal- heck isn’t that a huge part of fitness, trying to take care of your body! I’m wanting to nip this crap in the bud and start thriving!!
