Irish Cannon Gets Unnatural, Naturally - Part 2: CL's Blue Gene (sponsored)

I forgot to tell you guys a pretty funny story from Saturday...

So I told you guys the night sucked and it was boring. Well, when I get bored, I tend to do stupid things to ammuse myself. Anyways, my friends are all jumbled to my left talking and I'm sitting at the bar at a TGI Fridays eating dinner and drinking a beer when these two younger girls (23-26ish) walk in and sit down to my right. They order Miller Lite or some crappy beer like that (totally irrelevant but I'm just proving that they have zero taste and/or class) and start chatting. I'm thinking, I don't really care about talking to these girls, but I DO want to either accomplish one of two things: either (1) Make them laugh, or (2) Piss them off. - So, I flagged down the bartender and told her to give both the girls a water and to tell them that it was on me. The bartender laughed and said, "I'm not sending them waters!" - So I flirted with her for a minute until she finally did it...I accomplished number two. I think they were really offended and took it as, "You're not even worth a drink."

So ya, that was the highlight of the night.

Hahahhahaha priceless! Figureatively and literaly!

You know, it's funny. People always give me a hard time about not going out and doing stuff with them, and they blame it all on my bodybuilding; however, anytime I get myself to go out, I remember why I never go out in the first place

SAME !!!!! I will not even try to re-phrase it 'cause I couldn't put it any better. I actually had an argument with one of my friends about this on the weekend.

She asked if I'd go out with her and a few others and I said : no thanks it really $rews up my gym training and the WHOOOOOLE DAY AFTER :aargh::aargh::aargh:

She then replied quite angrily: Well can't you give up the gym for once ?!!!!

I said : NOOOOOOOOOOO, I CANNOT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :fool2: Invalid Link Removed

And if you were a TRUE FRIEND YOY WOULD UNDERSTAND THAT !!!!!!!!!! :frustrate:frustrate:frustrate

It's rarely ever that much fun. Not going out has nothing to do with my bodybuilding. - Don't get me wrong, I love to be outdoors and wakeboard and bike and all of that, but I'm talking strictly about nightlife.
Why was I born with such contemporaries? I have more fun with the older folks. They seem to understand me so much better.

I don't really mind nightlife (in theory ), but where I live it REALLY SUCKS !
I chose the GREAT AUSSIE OUTDOORS over clubbing anytime !!!

OK, STOP IT NOW, THIS IS NOT YOUR THREAD :nono:

Sorry IC ! :o

I welcome all pictures! Especially pictures of places I've never been to. I love to travel.

I'm totally on the same level as you with nightlife. I should have elaborated on that. In theory, as you said, I don't mind nightlife. When I lived in Chicago we had great nightlife. Great pubs with great people. We'd sing and dance and strum guitar and fiddle. I could go in there by myself on any given night, and leave with three friends. BUT, ever since I moved to Florida, I have had a hard time finding people I actually enjoy spending time with for an extended period, not to mention all the nightlife is around here is clubs. I HATE clubs. Lame music. Lame people.

Day 27

Just got in an insanely intense HIIT workout. My intensity has been lacking with the weights, but my power and drive during cardio is still through the roof. I did my standard 12 intervals @ 30/60secs.

I forgot my stopwatch, but there is a computer next to the spin bikes, so I got one of the girls to find a website with a time-ticker so I could time the intervals. After about seven sprints, the girl that put it on the site had left and a new chick was there and she got on the computer to do some BS on it. At this point I had all my test flowing, and blood pumping, and no offense to her personally since she didn't know I was using it, but I wanted to rip her head off.:aargh::aargh: - All worked out in the end, though. I just had to use the clock on the wall which was a little hard to read.

If any part of my legs weren't sore enough from squats yesterday and SLDL on Friday, they are sore now. I can barely walk.

IC, you still takin Acidophilus? If so how many caps?

Nice. Whats its called?

Nice. Whats its called?

I think it's called Multi Pro-Biotic by Rexall. Something like that. I got it at Wal-Mart last time I was there. It has Acidophilus in it, and a bunch of other stuff.

Since today was a HIIT day, my appetite was rampant. Since I woke up a little earlier today than normal, I added in some extra calories, and probably a little beyond what I needed, although it was pretty much all clean. I had...

1 slice of Ezekiel bread with honey
1 scoop of Scivation whey
1 Flat Out flatbread with fat-free mozarella, a bit of pizza sauce, and turkey meat
A few wheat thins

So, that's probably an extra 400ish calories. I know that's not a lot to you bulking guys, but I don't like taking in any extra cals. I should have just had the scoop of whey and left it at that, but I was starving.

A question on training...

Does anyone think I should switch all of my cardio days to HIIT, or leave it at two HIIT days and one moderate-intensity day?

It looks like whatever you are doing is working for you bro. If your bored then yeah switch it up.

I just started doing the HIIT, which is why I'm wondering if I should just change my cardio all together, or leave one day the same. I've mentioned that stubborn layer of fat that I'm trying ot get rid of, so maybe HIIT is the key. I just don't really know.

But I do know that my legs are SORE AS HELL!

Day 28

Had an amazing workout today. It was a little slow and unimpressive for the first exercises, but things started kicking after that.

I decided to take ECY (25mg/200mg/2.5mg) with my Blue Gene this morning. As I had mentioned previously, the endurance from the Blue Gene is definitely there, but my training intensity has been lacking. The addition of the small bit of yohimbene really helped me out.

I wish you guys could have seen the pump I had going at the gym. It seriously looked like I added 15lbs of muscle to my entire frame. Definitely had some onlookers, and that always makes me feel good.

I have some relatively impressive numbers to show you guys. As I did on Monday, here are the max weight and max reps from my workouts from my first week on Blue Gene, compared to todays workout...

Hip Adduction- 95x15
Seated Calf Raise- 100x14 (Not a big deal. I'm sure I could have gotten 15)

So there you have it! Numbers are definitely going up.

I went to the bank after the gym. I saw this teller there that I always used to flirt with but she gained a bunch of weight. That's what she gets for all the partying and hanging out with a bunch of dudes 25+yrs older. As I was leaving I said, "Good seeing you again." and I started to walk off and she was like, "Oh...umm..okay. Bye." I think she was expecting me to stay and chat or ask her out but eff that. She USED to be cute.

hahaha funny sh1t with the bank teller.

Lookin good bro!

Just a reminder to everyone, my T-911 log will begin immediately after my final review of Blue Gene on Friday. Following that log will be my Celebration Stack Log; celebrating one year of cutting. 'Twill be sick.

I'm really starting to worry about what to do for my next training program. I'd really like to start doing more high-volume training, and hitting each muscle group once a week, yet doing this doesn't give me much room for cardio. If I did something like:

Chest/Quads/Arms/Hams/Back/Shoulders + Traps and Calves thrown in there somewhere, that's six days of weight training. While I can do low-mid intensity cardio post-workout, I don't see how I can keep up with HIIT. If I tried to do HIIT after my weights, not only will my glycogen stores be depleted, but I just won't have the energy. If I start stacking more workouts together to allow for a couple free days, then those workouts will drag on way too long.

I COULD do full body workouts, but that would be even less volume than I'm doing right now. That's a totally different direction than what I want.

If anybody has suggestions, I'd love to hear it.

I've decided that I will probably do HIIT on top of my lifting, but to make up for the glycogen I lose during the lifting, I will have a Whey/WMS shake immediately after my weightlifting. From there, I will stretch for 15~ mins., then do the HIIT.

Day 29

I walked into the gym today and realized that I really didn't feel like doing an hour of the regular, boring, low-intensity cardio...so of course I did HIIT instead.

Great yet terrible idea. My legs have been getting destroyed on a daily basis for the last week. I just really hope I'm not overtraining.

With that said, it was a great workout. I only did ten intervals rather than my normal twelve that I do on HIIT days, but I still rocked it hard. I was pretty dead at the end of the workout. I warmed up for ten minutes prior to the sprints, and did about a three minute cooldown.

Intensity was there...and it felt amazing.

B1 tomorrow. Last day on Blue Gene.

Lookin forward to the final review

I'm placing an order at NP as I type. So far in my cart I've got...

1 RPM Big Block
500g of Beta Alanine
300g of DiCreatine Malate
100g 1-C
500g AAKG
1k BCAAs

What else could I use? I'm planning on starting my high-volume routine on Monday. I'll probably be hitting the gym on an empty stomach (with the exception of BCAAs), so anything else to help prevent catabolism/muscle loss, and help me power through the workouts. Suggestions please!

Looks good man! Are you moving on from leucine to bcaa's?

Gluconeogenesis....I like your knowledge on nutrition.

I like the new workout set up a lot man! How well good would say skullcrushers are for the tris? Which part of the tri does it work more? I never do em. And the good mornings - man I wish I could do em. I dont know what I do wrong but it seems to just sit on my neck and its really uncomfortable. And could you explain a kneeling leg curl?

Training program looks good, maybe I'll steal it from you ;)

How about adding Swell or Blast in your workout mix ?
Some of the ingredients you already have as bulk, this just tops it up with few good extras:

I love them. I don't know the specifics on what they work, but it feels mainly like the outer head. I'm sure it's the same as what an overhead tri-press move would be.

Teh suxorz.

I tend to set the bar further back. Almost to the point where my hands are pushing up on it just in case it tries to slide off. I never stand fully straight or the bar WOULD slide off.

And could you explain a kneeling leg curl?

It's a machine that has a little swivel contraption on it that you kneel down on. While one leg is knelt down, the other is extended in a curling motion, and the quad of that same leg is pressed against a pad.

Ill try your way of doing good mornings. I need to do them. Its been too long and they are such a good exercise for the hammies. The curl machine looks badass!

Be my guest!

Much less elaborate than my last one. Seems almost too basic to me. Oh well.

Didn't think of that. Thanks!

Ya, it's pretty sweet. You can really isolate the hams. The only problem I have with the machine is my bollocks will sometimes get crushed when I'm cranking out those last few reps. They get pushed against the pad. Oi! It hurts.

I'm soooo debating getting some Bulk P-Slin and WMS, but I really don't know if I should start taking WMS again. I can't say for sure, but I definitely think it had something to do with my weight gain back in the day. I was taking it then.

Do eeet man! Pslin will shuttle that wms straight to the muscle. You will not get fat on wms with pslin. Have you ever tried pslin? I got pretty fat from wms too. AP and pslin changed that tho.

I've never tried P-Slin or AP. I haven't tried any nutrient partitioners. They started becoming real popular as I was doing the low-carb thing.

Great new workout setup. Do you stick to your planned exercises and sets until it's time to change again? How often do you change? I've been rotating 1-2 new exercises in every 3 weeks or so and even tossing in a surprise every now and then for shock, but think I should be holding a more consistent routine.

How would you rate good mornings opposed with SLDLs?
I'm thoroughly enjoying my stiff legged deadlifts and getting stronger, but I still have to watch my lower back. A bonus with the SLDL is some extra upper back stimulation and grip, but it causes some problems if I'm doin bis/tris the next day as my forearms are sore as sh*t, lol.

Ya, I keep everything the exact same for at least eight weeks. Until I notice gains starting to slow down quite a bit.

I by no means think Good Mornings are a substitute for SLDLs. SLDLs are by far the best workout you can do for your hams. The main reason I'm rotating between GMs and SLDLs is to allow for my back to heal enough to do regular deads. I would consider GMs number two on my list of lifts for hams.

Up until now I had forgotten how amazing HIIT was at leaning you out. I can definitely notice it already starting to take affect.

My veins are fuller, muscles seem more dense. I hope this only continues. Just took these, and now it's time for bed. Cheers.

Skull Crushers (laying triceps extension) works the medial, lateral, and long head's of the triceps all really well. It's really a great exercise for triceps altogether.

just caught up on the last like 4 pages. a couple things.

1. naked is bottled in my/volcoms area. they have so many delicious drinks. however i pretty much avoid them at all costs if trying to lean out cuz they have a lot of sugars.

2. those 2 stories were hilarious. (bar and bank girls).

3. dood pics look awesome man. how long did you bulk, and how much did you gain durin the bulk?

4. i know you set up your routine already, but have you ever checked out westside for skinny bastards? hes got a few versions, one is a 3 day routine, and another is a 4 day routine. its written by joe defranco. ive been wanting to give it a go for a few months, but i want to have my shoulder up to snuff so i can do bench and stuff. its worth a look tho.

5. and get the bulk p-slin. ive only used AP, but i hear NOTHING but good things with p-slin.

keep it up man. looking forward to the review and the start of your new log.
