Irish Cannon Gets on AXIS...with AXIS (Hemodraulix + Kitchen Sink)

Only reason I can tell a difference from multi-v is because I have Celiacs desease, which means I am always undernourished. So when I get extra vitamins in hell yeah I notice a difference.

DC Day 4

Today raised my hopes a little in terms of the routine. It was a pretty sick workout, in more ways than one. - I woke up feeling like garbage; I flipped and flopped like a fish all night long. I hardly got 5hrs of sleep, and of that, it was all broken up. My head is congested, sinuses are clogged, ears are full, throat is scratchy. Pretty much just

Fortunately my appetite is okay, so I got up, made my regular breakfast, slammed my pre-workout supps and headed to the gym.

I met a buddy from work at the gym and I introduced him to DC. We got a killer workout in and by the end we both wanted to puke. Neither of us were sure if it was from the workout or lifting too soon after breakfast, but either way we were very pleased with the session. Our legs were pumped and we were both entirely drained of energy by the end. We layed outside in the sun for a little bit outside the gym before we left. We couldn't even walk to our vehicles.

I don't feel like typing out all of my lifts, but they were ALL up from the last session with those exercises (the last session with those lifts weren't DC, but I could tell I was stronger regardless).

I'll type out the lifts in "message form" rather than a list:

Started out with some DB Curls, and then hopped over to do Reverse BB Curls, and then to the Bi/Forearm stretch - Smith Machine was in use, so we just hopped inside the cage/power-rack, grabbed the sides, and leaned in with our thumbs pointed down and biceps twisted out.

From there, we went on to the Squat Press, first doing three warmups, then a rest pause, and then finally into a widowmaker set - Went over to the group fitness room and did our Quad stretch.

Prone Leg Curls and Ham stretch followed that.

Then finally we blasted our calves and did some stretching outside before we left.

It took about an hour and fifteen to finish the workout.

Nice workout bro! So you intentionally are doing hams after quads?

Gotcha...keep doing your thang man! Im sure you will still make awesome gains on your IC/DC hybrid!

Sounds good Irish. If the both of you felt like throwing up, then it was probably from the intensity of the workout.

Diggin the modifications IC. Everything looks good so far. Keep killin it brosef.

Thanks, man. I'm doing my best with what I've got to work with. This back trouble is still oh-so aggravating.

To note, I probably won't be going out tonight, but I have cheated a little today. For Meal 3 I had a Double Chicken Philly at Lenny's and for Meal 4 I just had a large bowl of my Mom's chili. - Nothing bad, just not on the normal diet. I'm going to grill up my chicken and turkey tonight so I don't have to do that in the morning. Hopefully I can get some good sleep tonight, and wake up to some DOMSmestic Violence in my legs.

I can imagine the back....that's the same reason I started to back off of the big weights. We are in this for the long run. You're doing good man, keep it up.

I just popped out of the low carb thing. It really is not ideal for people that train hard / do cardio... But it did work pretty well.

Ya, I don't do it for long at all, however, when I say low-carb, take it with a grain of salt. Chances are I'm getting in at least 60g in breakfast alone, and by Meal 3 I will probably hit 150g, but it's cut off from there. I try to take in my carbs around my workout only, regardless of how many grams I take in.

Yeah, its a bit silly...

Mine was banana in the AM, then no carbs until PreWO - usually 2 slices of wheat, then a banana PostWO... No diversions from that however.

Yea, my low carb was 30g....max. But I had a lot more fat to cut than you.

Deff not for people who enjoy high intensity cardio. I had some time off from basketball so that's why I did it. I actually didnt even do any cardio.

I just figure I'm never going to compete, so why make it difficult on myself? I enjoy the TKD-ish thing anyways. From my understanding, it allows for a nice boost in hGH, not to mention some aid in fat loss.

Take them in, but only when you need them, that being around your workout time. Otherwise, what's the point?

Exactly. I read "The Anaboic Diet" by Dr. Mauro Pasquale , he is really big on the hormonal shifts that the CKD diet can bring about.

Yeah, eating carbs aside from workout and energy applications is just glutteonous. But I mean, I do like to eat with my girl from time to time, and me having some extra carbs on a non-workout day is really a non-issue... That and I really don't have too many off days.

Feeling uber sick today. My entire head is clogged and my sinuses are all stuffed up. I have a pretty bad headache, too. Fortunately I have my appetite and don't have any severe body aches. I can't tell if what I do have are muscle aches or DOMS. My upper back is sore, but I didn't work that yesterday. :dunno: - I feel flat and deflated right now.

Went to the doctor today and got some Rx for it. Augmento and wholly crap i just sneezed and it hurt really bad.

Hopefully I can get my lifting in tomorrow morning. I usually push through it if it's just a head-thing. Once I start having body aches and nausea I call off my lifts...so for right now, I still plan on going to lift in the morning.

While I was waiting for my script to get filled I got some sweet new clothes to cheer me up. lol.

Oh, and by the way, have you guys seen Obama's new Surgeon General pick?

Wow you have to be kidding me!

I try not to watch the news to closely these days. I just get waaaay to pissed off, watching beck, o'reilly, and hannity is getting tough. I mean I love the guys but zhit is so eff'd up.

I'm happy to see the dem's are finally turning on each other and the party seems to me weakening. I knew this election would just rally the GOP even after people said they were down for the count. But Obama has done exactly what i predicted back in october :D.....kinda bitter sweet.

.

This is exactly why I have a hard time listening to Rush these days. I just get mad & frustrated. However, these last couple of days have been more promising then usual, with the lackluster reception of the socialized health plan throughout the country. We'll see how tonight's Bamster press conference goes.

DC Day 5

Okay, so today was INCREDIBLE! I don't know if it was the exercises, or the fact that I gave my pre-wo supps a little longer to kick in, but pump was SICK, sets were INTENSE, and I felt GREAT in spite of the fact I'm still a little sick.

Workout C1:

HS Decline Chest Press
Chest Stretch
DB Shoulder Press
Shoulder Stretch
W-Bar Pressdown
Tri Stretch
WG Pullups
LF CG Seated Low Row
Lat Stretch
DB Shrugs - 3 normal sets with 1 TUT set

I feel awesome right now. It was a great workout. Definitely the most enjoyable since I started the DC/IC training. ;) - By the way, Met or Imprez, am I supposed to go to failure on the warmup sets?

Also, a small note, I went to the doctor yesterday and had a few things checked. Last time I went to the doc was when I was on Epi...

Weight last time: 186lbs
Current Weight: 181lbs

Blood Pressure last time: 138/90-something
Current BP: 106/72

The weight is kind of whatever. I don't really care either way, but the BP is what I wanted to point out. Obviously Epi raised it a good deal, BUT, I didn't take ANY on cycle or post-cycle support supps and it still dropped very quickly to a good level, so to on-cycle and post-cycle support supps I say they're a waste of money. It's going to go back to normal anyways. :)

No dont go to failure..just use light weights for warmups

I do 1 warm up set for 10 reps, add 10 lb and do 10 reps, add 10 more lbs and do 6 reps..bam those are the warmup sets

..and then go all out with your working (restpause set) :head: (about 15-20lbs heavier)

again this is how I do it. Some do it differently

The only purpose for the warmups is to do just that warmup. None should be taken to failure and they shouldn't even be hard it should just get the blood pumping.

H, are you doing DC?

Werd.

I pretty much just do sets of 6-7. For instance Incline Hammer strength. 1plate x 6, 2plates x 6-7, 3-plates x 6-7, then i put on my working weight, and just do it once, to get a feel for it, then go to town.

I believe it was in the wojo DVD where he mentioned the one rep, and i find it helps me mentally.

Things like tri's get less of a warm up, as after chest/delt, they are good and warm.

Okay, I gotcha. I've been doing warmups between 10-15 reps, usually leaving a gap of about 2 reps; meaning I could probably crank 2 more.

I came home to some very sad news. A woman that has been in my class for the last year, and I feel I've grown very close to, just sent me an e-mail saying she was recently diagnosed with cancer and that she won't be returning to class. She will have to receive radiation therapy very soon. She told me she will be admitted to the hospital this Friday.

She's married and has two kids, and for a while I had no idea. It's almost as though we enjoyed our time together as an escape from our lives, or at least it seemed she did. We've always enjoyed our talks over coffee or mouthing off sarcastic comments to each other while the professor was speaking. Often times I'd shout out my strong, passionate, conservative opinion during a lecture and I'd catch her staring me down and smiling in approval.

I don't know what to think about this, as though it happened for some odd reason. Almost as if it's a way to keep me from seeing her...All I know is I hope she is cured. She's important to me whether I see her again or not, and perhaps it's better if I don't.

I wish her all the best and I hope that you get better yourself. My fiance just lost a good cousin of hers back in NZ and another very close one is on life support. Apparently, some dude fell asleep at the wheel and rammed straight into them, but he's still alive and okay - shocker. One of her cousins died at the scene and the other cousin (very close to her like a sister) is still on life support, but thankfully, the Doc said she would be all right after time.

Aside from the above, how is that DC treating you as you're trying to cut down?

Thanks for the support guys. I got to talk to her today and she seems to be in high spirits about it, which is awesome...I'm pretty sure being in that mindset is better than any treatment or drug you can get.

Jason, DC is treating me well it seems. I'll have to give it some more time as far as noticing results. Tomorrow rounds out my first go at the 6 workouts, Monday being my second A1 workout.

I'm really digging the SFL, and am trying to decide if I'll crack open my second bottle of Hemo (I've got about 1-2 servings left) or just save it for another time and run the remainder of the log with only SFL. - Regardless, I'll probably be adding in HMB again, but I'll only be taking a pre-workout dose.

Having a positive mindset is so good for a person all the way around. I'll be praying that she will be able to pull through this.
