tonight: leg day

had a fairly good day, still workin on gettin the right weights but for starting like this, i'd rather be doing too little than trying to do too much and burn out. felt like i was gonna see my dinner after the leg press until i went home. felt like i was overheating. otherwise, still a good day.

squats: 65x20, 115x10, 145x8, 175x6, 205x6
leg press: 170x15 (warmup), 250x10, 310x10, 370x10, 430x10
standing calf raises: 150x10, 170x10, 190x10, 210x10
leg ext: 95x10, 110x10, 125x10, 140x10
leg curls: 36x20, 48x10, 55x8, 60x8
 
some good numbers broski...do you and tyler still work out together?

Takes a little momentum out of the game, makes ya work harder. Well, makes ME work harder. :) Could just be wasting my time, I dunno.
 
Im going to throw in some variety and start doing box squats soon so I will be pausing at the bottom.
 
I was planning on doing box squats in my upcoming quad session.

Nice! You are putting a lot of back into it. That isn't a bad thing so long as your back is ok with it. I like to use the same hip drive to get it going but then I quickly work to get the back out of the lift and put it all on the legs. I mainly focus on that though because I hammer my back then on the deads and rack deads on back day.

hhmm.... My back hasn't minded it yet. I tend to place the bar a little higher on my back then most. I haven't gotten used to having it lower on my back yet. I think if I placed it lower on my back then it would change everything and reduce how much I use my back. I think that it may have to do with being 6'2 and a majority of my height is in my legs. but thats just speculation.
 
oh yeah... and I always like to keep my squat and dead days a few days apart so I can put 100% into each.

I'm almost 6'4" and most of it is leg homie. I feel ya on this one. Roll that bar farther down the back, try it, trust me.

felt really, i mean really pumped in the gym today, felt like i could have kept going and going on the weights.

behind neck bb presses: 20x15, 40x10, 60x8, 70x8, 80x6
lat raises: 15x8, 17.5x8, 20x8, 22.5x8
rear delt flies: x8, x8, x8, x8 (weights weren't listed on the machine)
db shrugs: 50x10, 65x10, 80x10 (up 5lbs each set from last time)

standing bb curls: 35x15, 45x10, 55x8, 65x6, 75x4
skullcrushers: 35x15, 45x10, 55x8, 65x6
50 deg incline db curls: 20x8, 22.5x8, 25x8, 27.5x7
tricep rope pushdown: 40x10, 50x10, 60x10, 70x10, 80x10

felt like The Man after these sets. felt like i could have done several more exercises, but i don't want to over do it, especially because chest and back is tomorrow.

You would improve your power and explosiveness a lot more if you widened your base a bit. You really are putting too much stress on your back...especially on your initial burst back up. Also...maybe moving your feet out in front of you just a tad bit more might help. Regardless....solid work bud. Just trying to help if possible.

those bands are crazy....
but my bench felt really good and felt that it was in the groove of where it needed to be.
Bench - 2 mini bands + plates
3 x 5 (warm up)
3 x 3

Bench with orange band around wrists
4 x 10

Db flies
30 lbs
4 x 15

100 mini band tri pushdowns

2 sets of push ups on handles until failure.
