I just keep my eye on certain people that already have an interest in IBE, then talk with them for a while to grasp their customer relations, and product knowledge.

i know that some people apply for a position, while others are sought out.
And I have heard of people seeking out companies, but usually it's the two you mentioned.

What is the difference between "seeking out" and "applying"?
For "applying" to companies. I have seen head reps of companies on here post in the forum asking for app's from interested people looking to become a rep for their company.
"Seeking out" would be more like if someone were to randomly PM Iron and ask they they could be a rep for IBE.

"Applying" was clear. "Seeking out" was wooly. Yet, I personally do not see a problem in someone approaching a Head Rep once and inquiring after repping opportunities, as long as the inquirer does not badger anyone. In this case, "seeking out" is not much different from "applying".

An example of someone seeking out would be Invalid Link Removed , although he did it with a good intent. I can't find the post, but I remember a thread where somebody posted their credentials and invited to companies to solicit him, which didn't go well and reminded me of the 3rd alternative.
