Damn, you have that right! Big Pharma loves to charge you $100 for something like Vytorin or Lipitor, which are really the statin portion of Red Yeast Rice combined with some other proprietary substance which then makes it patentable and accepitible to their marketing dept., AKA the FDA. I have gotten my wife, sister, best bud and dozens of others to switch to 600 mgs of RYR and 100 mgs of Ubiquinol (AKA CoQH) as opposed to using the older CoQ10 (AKA Ubiquinone), and every single one of them has dropped some 30+ points in their cholesterol. They have also lost the leg pains and other side effects which come with commercial statins. My bud's cardiologist told him it was working so well that he should double the RYR to 1200 mgs. For the long term, however I really believe in Omega 3s because for both my wife and my bud, it also completely elliminated their congestive heart failure ie. Atrial Fibrulation. Vitamin D3 also has lots of adherents to its use versus cholesterol.
