Heads up - there was some settling of capsule contents in the final product. The weight is correct, so don't be concerned.

[h=2]Abstract[/h]The origin of the growth-stimulating factor in yogurt was studied in rats fed liquid or freeze-dried diets of milk, yogurt, milks fermented individually by Streptococcus thermophilus and Lactobacillus bulgaricus, and milks to which cells of Streptococcus thermophilus and Lactobacillus bulgaricus were added. Diets containing sonicated cells, cell supernatant, and cell fractions also were fed. Milk fermented by Streptococcus thermophilus and milk plus Streptococcus thermophilus cells stimulated growth as effectively as did yogurt. That finding and the absence of stimulation in rats fed Lactobacillus bulgaricus showed that Streptococcus thermophilus is responsible for stimulation of growth by yogurt. Growth was stimulated by an intracellular factor and not by fermentative changes in the milk.

I didn't get to try the old product. I have seen the RPN version on a UK website still selling recently but would be reluctant to buy anything containing probiotics so far down the line.

This product interests me, I probably have had more gut health issues than 99% of people on this board lol.

Looking forward to reviews.

Where did you get it at? I don't see it on the Genomyx website.

With the coupon code, makes for a great deal! I know a couple people waiting for the Gut Health/Krillpid combo on our site though
Nutra will have their stock by Thursday.

Yeah I'm jumping on this (and I just told myself I was holding off on buying supplements for a while since I have a large stock to get through of good stuff). I just can't pass this up :)

Being how much I hate taking protein powders this stuff is a godsend. The whole lineup is absolutely unbelievable in regards to quality, I've never actually felt anything from a protein powder but I feel damn good while taking this stuff...the only issue that is pressing is what flavor to try next...thanks Matt and Xtreme.

I'm perfectly fine with using the Lemon Cream pie flavor the rest of my life.

* edit * gut health makes everything better.

dsade, whats your opinion about this article, do you think that gut heath could aslo help anxiety issues and depression?

This is a relatively new area of research that I did look over as I was designing the product, but the evidence/support to making such an overwhelming claim (possibly drawing the ire of the FDA) is not conclusive enough at this point.

Basically, our hypothesis is that gut bacteria affect most, if not all, of the processes in the body - including mood, thought, energy levels, cortisol levels, whole-body inflammation, glucose tolerance, metabolism, obesity levels, and much more.

cool, i might have to get some more again as i used to run the old version for months on end but i cant remember how it made me feel.

any chance of bigger bottles :)

We'll be looking to bring out the larger size sometime next year.

Mine came in the post yesterday :D

Quick question for Genomyx reps:

I've very recently found myself in need for a "gut health" product, due to a temporary intolerance to probiotics
in the greek yogurt, which is one of the *4* things that I eat. At the moment ingesting even a tbs of it
makes me puke my soul out while being in incredible pain. I found out that the reason of my sudden
(I've been eating that same yogurt for years no problems) intolerance is most likely due to cortisol control,
low cortisol level apparently can cause that.
Now, since I'd really like not to have to cut the thing from my diet because it already lists such small amount
of edible things for me, the question is: would this help me restoring my stomach flora?
Or would it - containing probiotics - make things even worse?
I was about to get a bottle right away but I thought was a good idea to ask since the specific problem.

thanks!

that seems to be a strange situation... i wouldn't think that your sudden intolerance is the cause of the probiotics, but if it is, deductive reasoning would suggest that introducing another probiotic might only exacerbate the issue.

in a situation like this, i would definitely suggest speaking with your physician as to what the cause is. even if you developed IBS symptoms due to low cortisol, a probiotic could only help... so before you purchase a bottle, talk with your doctor; gut health aside, it would be a shame if you had to forgo a food you've been eating all along.

Thank you, appreciate the reply man.

I have the luck of having a doc in the family and that's I (he) came out with the low cortisol as a possible
cause for my sudden intolerance to the yogurt, something I've never had problems with before.
As for the solution, flora will restore on its own with time, of course avoiding in the meantime the
product and stopping the cortisol control (bottle finished yesterday anyway..), I was somewhat trying to find something
to speed up the process, so instead of a general ebay "intestinal flora restore product" I thought about this.

I'll wait a bit, give my system time and then try to incorporate this one and see how it goes.

Again, thank you

you got it, dude... shouldn't take too long before your cortisol level re-regulates, so hopefully it works itself out.

A balance of different probiotics is the key to good digestion and GI health, as well as nutrient usage and immune robustness. Depending on how MUCH Greek Yogurt you have been eating, as well as ingestion of other probiotics, it's very possible for you to have skewed your bacterial balance in a way that is detrimental.

While we definitely recommend seeing your physician, unfortunately very few are versed in probiotics. Gut Health is an inexpensive way to balance out intestinal flora.

Thats something I haven't thought about it, other probiotic I mean, tbh I haven't got any other that those in the greek.
And I was eating about 200gr a day, being that as I mentioned a big part of my diet, being zero fat, zero carbs and low cals
I'll just take a break from it, maybe try with Actimel or Yakult and then try Gut health and see how it goes
