I really want to do some Yoga but hard to find a class at my gym at a time I can go. When I worked for another company they gym there had a Pilates class, not one with the pilates machine but a true pilates as it was originally designed. I loved it! Would love to do some yoga for sure. I bet you will definitely get hurt less often.
It does depend on the Yoga Class my friend! When I was a member of LifeTime Fitness they had like 3 different levels, and the level-1 (beginner) was free, the higher up levels and "Hot-Yoga" all cost $$$ per session or you could buy packages, etc. Anyway, I did the FREE level-1 (beginner) for like 6 mos. and it was cool at first, but it was the same thing over and over and over and I honestly was not getting more flexible, I'm sure my core was getting stronger because for the last 2-3 mos. I was able to hold some of the harder poses for the full length of time without falling over or losing my balance, etc, but there are other ways to strengthen your core and get more out of it in less time than spending a whole hour in that beginner Yoga class, now, I'm sure some of the more advanced or specialized YOGA classes are a completely different story, only speaking from my experience with the very, very basic supposedly designed for everyone kind of Yoga class!
