Did that overhand serve land in bounds? You whacked at it pretty good, is your aim that controlled? I can't do powerful overhands with any accuracy, maybe 4/10 times if I whack at it, otherwise, I stick with a much less powerful overhand.

Yes it landed in. I hit it with a lot of kick, so I actually swung up at the ball and at an angle so that with the spin I placed on it, it came down hard when it crossed the net...thus creating a high bounce.

I was very off my game mentally that day. You could see it even in that short clip. If I was thinking tennis, I would have known his return would be short because of the added kick I put on the serve, and i'd have been there to get the easy volley. It was a sad day of tennis on my part...but I had a great vacation!!
 
Are you using any transdermals like Napalm? I find that after I apply that it picks up color on anything I touch :( Although it would seem that maybe you are meant to be blue lipped though:) Swallow faster..lol

9/9/08 - Day 12

Today was awesome...let me tell you why. I woke up and my legs hurt soooooo bad!! Most people would say thats awful, but I kind of like it. First of all, it's letting me know that i've done a good job training and that I have a long way to go yet if adding some sets is going to tear me up that bad. Secondly, it lets me know that the Blue Gene and Cre-02 are allowing me to train hard enough to not feel the effects of it until the next day. Most people I know would have called off and laid on the couch all day. I went and played bodyguard and then went to work! haha.

I skipped my normal morning workout so that I could be there for my girlfriend through what is a mentally and emotionally challenging time for her. I will be doing some major excercise tomorrow though. I don't think i'm going to lift, but I may change my mind. I work the overnight shift tomorrow, so I have to try and conserve as much use of my muscle as possible for heavy lifting and such at work. I will probably have a very cardio oriented day with a lot of body weight stuff though. Still formulating it all in my head ;)

nice high toss on your serve, good extension. i am a lefty, and ive found that if i throw the toss a little to the right and slightly behind my head i get a wicked topspin curve that really takes off when it hits. took a lot of practice though, i framed a lot of balls over the fence before i got the hang of it.

I have a very similar serve also! I hit many different serves between normal kick, high kick, slice, flat, topspin, etc.

If you weren't in Cali, I bet I could fix your slice and cut shots real fast. It's not something that comes hard once you have the arm motions down. It's like anything else really...you learn it once...and everyone else will spend ample amounts of time trying to learn to defend against it once you're there ;)

Well today was a long day. Woke up around 11:45am and it is now 8:15am the next day as i'm posting. I can't stand overnight shifts. What's worse is it revolves around my short day...so I have to be back up by 1pm to get ready to leave for work at 2:30pm. Life is good huh? haha.

Another day has passed us by. Did a lot of thinking today. As it being a date to remember throughout US history, I wanted to think of the good things about our Country today. Not politics or our awful media or anything like that....just flat out regular old patriotism. I think maybe it is possible we are still going through our growing pains ya know? Compared to most other countries...we are but a baby.

Today was my short day. On only 3.5 or so hours sleep, I had no intentions of attempting to lift before work. Getting off at 7am and starting again at 3pm...sucks. haha.

(since when did I become the reincarnation of Sadam Insane? Oh no wait... he used mustard gas... I'd just throw my weight set at 'em...). Should I stop now? I think not (wait, how did the topic of banana bread end up into this... I don't know, I just enjoy rambling on... hell, now I'm talking to myself). OK maybe I think so. I walked into a local coffee shop to get a cup of tea or coffee and I saw the delicious homemade pastries... and there as well... was banana bread. I swear I could've eaten the entire display!
 
Im not going to post an update today. I cheated on diet. I had a beer and some food I shouldn't have eaten.

The reason i'm not updating is because i'm angry. For my last chance to see my team in the most popular stadium in sports history...the game got rained out while I sat in the seats for 2 hours waiting for start time. To make matters worse the drive was about 3.5 hours each way with all the traffic, and the make up game is tomorrow night at 7pm. My friend and I both work.

Let's go Yankees.

haha I had all plans to have a beverage anyway...whether it be a beer or liquor...so what the hay. Problem with anything other than miller lite there is that it was even more expensive than the miller lite. with 24oz. rolling in at $9.50, I didn't think getting something higher end was really an option, haha

9/13/08 - Day 16

Today started out great and ended poorly. I had a really solid workout today and things were looking up (even if I was about to miss the eventual 6-5 win by the yanks)...or so I thought. Work was an absolute 110% madhouse! I probably lost like 3lbs in water weight from all the sweat. You're thinking that's good right? Well...since I had a sick workout and I felt myself getting stronger, i'm afraid I lost all my gains while not being able to eat from 3:30pm until about midnight. It was very sad because I was not only starving...but I knew I was losing my gains as it was happening. bastards.

I got a glass of cranberry juice in to try and combat it...haha I hope it worked.

Breaking News : On all of my KB workouts til now I was using 16kg kettlebells which felt good and were giving me some awesome cardio with a somewhat light weight and decent rep range. Today I began using my 24kg kettlebell and I felt the difference immediately. Took more strength to maneuver it around...but it felt AWESOME!!
