Controlled Labs BLUE GENE vs. CTDeuce! **sponsored**

Dude, your schedule is killing me. That is so insanse. How the heck do you do it?

It's not very fun :(

I am actually convinced (no, this is not me making excuses) that the continual changing of my sleep patterns as well as how often I am given to sleep, has directly influenced my muscle gains and fat loss. I think I would be way further ahead in the game and actually much healthier if I was on a normal sleeping and working schedule.

It also directly affects my training as I have to go on little to no sleep some days and usually try and avoid training on those days so I can save whatever energy I have for work. I can't say i'm happy with it.

It's been this way almost a year...and I wrote a detailed letter to our Food and Beverage director last night informing him of my issues and the ways he can fix them and keep me...or ignore them and lose me :)

Definitely, kudos for giving it a shot while dead tired. The BG definitely increases libido :) so you weren't imagining that aspect lol.
:)

You could actually dose the Blue Gene a little earlier than immediately pre workout, and see if that effects your energy level at all. (gives it time to absorb and kick in fully.)

I have been taking it about 30-40 mins pre-workout...but I think i will try an hour before tomorrow morning. If the weather is nice, I think I am going to take the bike out for a bit and then maybe do some med ball throws with a brick wall. Not totally sure yet.

Yesterday I actually tried something different since my workout was so light, I used Blue Gene later in the day instead to try and add some "comfort" feelings and a little "pick me up". It definitely worked for a bit :)

9/2/08 - Day 5

Today was my short day, inevitably because I had to wake up a 4 hours after I went to bed and get ready for another shift at work. I am exhausted though and ready for sleep so I won't spend much time on this post. I want to be able to wake early enough to get some cardio in before going back to work tomorrow.

Day was laid out as follows :

PHYSICALITY:
Nothing to list today. I lacked the time as well as the energy. If it helps any, in a normal day like today I probably walk about 6 miles during my shift at work. I had a pedometer and clocked over 9 miles one night.

NUTRITION:
Depended on this GORGEOUS setup twice today. It looked so nice, I needed a picture!

1:00pm : *wake and shake* - 1 scoop AlltheWhey Isolate, 1 scoop Nytrowhey Ultimate, handful Organic Goji Berries, 1 tbsp organic almond butter, 1/2 cup uncooked oats, handful flax seed, ice, skim milk.
2:45pm : 1 scoop Purple Wraath w/20oz. water
2 Mst Mvp365, 4 Mst Citruvol Xs
4:00pm : 1.5 small bowls of homemade General Tso's Chicken (unbreaded breasts)
5:30pm : 1 small bowl of fresh canteloupe and honeydew
7:30pm : 5 Blue Gene
8:30pm : 1 bowl of london broil/broccoli/string beans, 1 small bowl of fresh canteloupe and honeydew
10:00pm : 6oz of lean ground beef, 1 cup fresh orange juice
1:00am : 1 scoop Purple Wraath w/ 20oz. water
1:45am : 4 Mst Zmk w/ 20oz. water

Not much to say about today except that i'm exhausted. Tomorrow I want to wake up and get ready for the day right. I should be hearing back from our F+B director on my fate at the company so I should be ready for it, haha. I'm not sure I care what he has to say either way...and i'm fairly certain it all leads to me searching for another job regardless.

Sounds like you would be happier at a different job! Don't want you falling asleep driving or anything like that. Sleep deprivation sucks. I had a sleepless night and want to go back to sleep now. But life calls and work and training....sigh

i think rafa needs some bg, i can't believe how all out that guy goes on every point. he has to burn out or get an injury before long at the rate he is going. can't wait to see what the next week brings for results on blue gene, looking good so far.

What do you do for a living, Deuce?

I'm a member of the management team in Food and Beverage at the first stand alone casino in our state. I was there when the building's foundation was barely up and nothing was installed yet writing out all of the paperwork for the department basically. Now they treat me like an unloved stepchild, haha.

It's cool..i'm looking for something new now. It's really all sideline work until my training career fully takes off. I have my kettlebell certification and am training for personal trainer certification now.

Yah I sometimes drift off on the drive home. I take the backroads home though instead of the highway so at least the only person in danger is myself.

Rafa is insane. He has some of the best conditioning by anyone in any sport ever. Literally. His sport specific strength and conditioning program must be 100% genius.

Definitely looking good so far!

Why thank ya! Through my crappy work schedule I hope I can please in some way. My workout is effed up today...but i'm going to try and fix it by either working out at my girlfriends for the whole hour I get to see her before work....or taking the bike out tonight when I get off work if i'm not too exhausted.

Okay seriously....does anyone know how people quote a bunch of different people in one post? I seriously just upped my post count by ridiculous numbers answering all of those, hahaha

Whoa, different! :)

Whoa, different! :)

yeah well the prospect of it being something new was exciting to me at first...but all in all, it evolved into a typical position in a kitchen for me. I mean...when I watch over the stewarding crew (dishwashing/prep) I am either washing dishes with them to keep up the flow, or i'm babysitting the ones that like to screw around. There really isn't much "management" involved in the position.

I have been looking around for something different for a while now and i'm finally starting to see some progress...so I think my time there is limited. I figure if I can talk each person in the US into buying 1 MST product...Matt will put me on the salaried payroll and I quit all these dumb jobs ;) haha kidding of course.

Every time I visit your log I have to scroll down past that shot of the fruit, then suddenly I have an insatiable desire for honey dew & cantalopes.

Maybe if you threw up some vegies you could get me on a straight diet.

haha I consider honeydew and canteloupe part of a straight diet :). I am of the school of thought that natural foods will always prevail....thus, I end up eating probably about 6 servings of fruit daily if I can. I try to get about the same amount or more of veggies in. Lately it's been tough as i've not gotten to the store since i'm back from vacation. A whole lot of protein shakes lately.

I think theres a way to do it but i'm not sure how!

I've seen it done before...I just don't know how to do it, haha. I always have to reply with like 292929 posts, haha.

That's okay, gives you more of a 'presence' LOL

I just copy and paste.

Okay lads - this is how you do it:

While you're typing away, open up the thread in a seperate tab.

Copy each sentence and paste it into your post.

Then....

Highlight the sentence and then click on the "Wrap [Quotes] tag around selected text" button - it looks like a little yellow cartoon text bubble.

That should do the trick. Please continue :head::head::head:

9/3/08 - Day 6

^^ That will relate to any and every thing that I thought about all day today. From work to friends to life in general.

Another day down. I wanted to be up at 9am to get a solid workout in. i slept til 11am, haha. If my girlfriend didn't have plans already, i'd have missed working out altogether...so that worked out good. Sadly, I didn't have much time before getting ready for work.

A little blue gene update : My libido is still outrageously strong. Another thing i've noted is that my muscle fullness is different than usual. When doing kettlebells the other day I noticed that my hammy's were more activated than normal...and days later I still feel that fullness from the workout. Very nice feeling. I think this is becoming the pre-date pill for most. If you take it 2 hours before a date, you can workout an hour before the date. That will leave your muscles looking and feeling fuller for the date...and your "sex drive" will be outrageous!!

Day was laid out as follows :

PHYSICALITY:
Rx1 x 30 seconds
Rx2 x 30 seconds
Rx3 x 30 seconds

15 minute bike training

Rx1 x 30 seconds
Rx2 x 30 seconds
Rx3 x 30 seconds

Pushup x50 *alternating grips*
Situp x50 *with static holds on certain reps*

NUTRITION:
11:30am : 1 scoop Purple Wraath with 20oz. water
11:45am : 5 Blue Gene
12:30pm : 3 Mst Cordygen5
1:45pm : *wake and shake* - 1 scoop AlltheWhey Isolate, 1 scoop Nytrowhey Ultimate, handful Organic Goji Berries, 1 tbsp organic almond butter, 1/2 cup uncooked oats, handful flax seed, ice, skim milk.
2 Mst Mvp365
3:15pm : Turkey Breast on Stone Ground whole wheat. 2 scoops AlltheWhey blend w/ 16oz. water
6:00pm : Chicken Breast, Broccoli, Carrots, 1 bowl of canteloupe and honeydew (ITS BACK)
2 Mst Mvp365
9:00pm : 1 scoop AlltheWhey blend w/ 8oz. water
11:00pm : 10oz. 93% lean ground beef
1:00am : 1 scoop Purple Wraath w/ 20oz water
2:20am : 4 Mst Zmk

Tomorrow's workout is going to be awesome....I can feel it!

Yah man i'm trying, haha. Tomorrow is my only day off this week so i'm gonna suck it up pretty good. Killer AM workout...and then just drift into a pool of laziness ;)

Sounds like a good plan bro. Enjoy your day off you deserve it.

still looking good bud!
you should make videos of all of these exercises for us to see.
or at least for me because I'm lost on most of them. lol

youtube has a ton of videos....just don't use the form you see in those videos as true form that you should be using if you try out kettlebells. The posture on most of them is worse than anything i've ever seen. For a basic understanding of the moves though...you can check out youtube.

sounds good. Maybe if I have some business in that end of PA I'll come out and train for a day.

I think you'd benefit greatly from it ;)

It's a good change of pace from normal weight lifting. I do KB's at least once a week to mix it all up.

I wouldn't mind hitting some KB's if I had the access, great for power training, which in turn is great for excelled kcals burn.

I contribute a great deal of my recent body structure change to KB's. Between burning a lot of calories and shaping my shoulders and upper back...it has really made a difference.

and ya know...some good supps don't hurt either ;)

I wish i had the money to throw into some kettlebells. I have heard such good things...

Did somebody just deuce?

Ketllebells are really nice for a lot of different variations... someone may not be able to do a dumbell overhead press, but can feel fine doing it with kettlebells.

Speak of the devil. The NSCA just sent me a registration form for a "Kettlebell Workshop Level I & Level II" $299.00 for both, not cheap.
