This was a really awesome workout today for a few reasons. Number 1 being I finally got my 16 year old to train with me. He trains virtual with my equipment in the garage with his bball team which is great but I've been asking for months for him to train with me. He is a really big kid, 6ft in 10th grade and would more than likely be starting varsity this year but covid of course. He has stayed true, he either trains or plays bball 7 days a week at the house during this BS. He has played bball since he was 5 years old year around. So it's great to see he still has the drive to push himself through covid.
His training is totally for basketball which is different than my training. We did chest today, poor fella couldnt even do push ups at the end.
Okay I could just keep rambling and bragging cause im so happy about him Training with me but I'm gonna move on.
I was able to get back up to 225 on bench for my last 5 sets with no lower back pain at all. I was moving 275 for reps by myslef before my back went out.. Solid lifts today with increased weight and no back issues. So really excited about that too.
Another cool thing is my lower back stretching routine has almost turned into freaking yoga. Oddly enough I like it, this may seem weird to some of you guys but I've actually fell into prayer a few times while stretching
. Now it's like I'm looking forward to it. Getting things done and it seems to all be coming back around full circle.
On a very sad note, I lost one of OG customers. He was a hell of a man, and I will leave it at that. Went in on Jan 4, ventilator on jan 14th, and we lost him yesterday from covid. This is the first loss I've had from covid. I just was at his house around Xmas. Unbelievable, he was a friend of the family also as he used to rip and run with my grandfather also. His wife and kids are absolutely devastated. The last time she talked to him was Jan 13 over face time, the last thing he told her was " I just wish I could climb a mountain and yell to the world how much I love you". Yup, choked me all the way up when she called me with that one.
So let's all remember to be safe, let the ones you love know it daily. We aren't promised tomorrow and it sukks that things have to happen like this to remind us.
Gambino Out!!!!
