All Things Tattoos

there are different inks. I have one on my arm that if you look really closely and strectch the skin some, you can find it and see it. I hunted around and bought the ink for the one on my neck myself and brought it with me as its the only 100% pigmentless one :)

E, what kind was it, if you don't mind me asking. I may have to add it to my little collection and tinker around sometime! :D

done at an angle on my ribcage, moderately big. The particular artist I want to use gets $5 a letter for text when its relatively small, $10 a letter for inch tall. Even at the $5/letter its around $400

Mine would do that for ~$200 assuming it's black ink or you're supplying your special ink.

black ink. in general, a lot of artists would do it cheaper, but i've seen how this guy's text turns out and how it looks 10 years later. I haven't found anyone else whose text work in particular is as nice.

Where in florida are you at?

New Smyrna Beach, about 20minutes from Daytona Beach.

I like the lettering idea, E, but the price is WAY up there, IMO. Come up my way. I'll do it for $100.

Been lucky.. I havent paid for a tattoo in a while. Finishing up the top half of my sleeve and havent paid a dime. I always enjoy bartering.

First off... Sweet thread here!

I agree with the others bro, and sounds like you already know... That's mad expensive for that tattoo. Props for you checking out the artist pretty thoroughly ahead of time!

This is my next one. I do a lot of graphic design on the computer.... I designed this myself. I've done a bit of design work for my local tattoo shops as well.

This is my current tattoo, although this pic is pretty old, right after getting it. I'm so much smaller! Haha

I don't have any tattoos, but I definitely have a respect for those that have meaning (and those that just look awesome, haha). When I was in high school, I wanted to get a cross on my upper arm, with my favorite verse written out on a banner wrapped around it, but as I got older, it just wavered from what I wanted (no tats, no piercings). Very cool thread, though. And the UV-only ink is pretty awesome. Someone needs to get something like "You made a mistake..." tatted on their neck or chest for when they bring a woman home just to see her reaction lol.

I'm jealous, I wish I could draw.

Lol, it's really not that hard, people think it's all about being able to draw, but it's about being able to connect what your thinking and what you want to put on paper, with you hands, you just have to see what you want to draw in your head, and slowly draw it out on paper. Plus even if it's ugly, you can still take to the tattoo artist and he can get it lookin right.

Getting it done rite now! Outline is done..the artist hooked it up.. Added a lot more to it

Alright my post mixs topics I want to get a quote tatoo on my chest it'll take up most my chest there's a few lines but I was wondering if it would stretch? If I got it down now then some how bulked up more I'm going to buy some mass gainer protein soon and i nnoticed I've been slacking.in chest so time to put more work there but same question if it got done would the lettering stretch if I gained in my chest?

Just gain and lose slowly. I have a lot of my upper body done. I've gained and lost a lot of weigh. Arms still good.

Well I'm pretty slim so what if I gained in a good way like muscle mass in just my chest the words wouldn't stretch?

I would say you good up until adding 30 lbs overall.

I would try to get to your goal and then get it if your worried. Also. You really need a good artist for writing. A lot of people's writing is pretty bad

Agreed, spending the extra money is well worth it when it comes to writing. I keep seeing sh*tty ones.

Yea ill find a artists who specialized in lettering and ill see what mass I can get in my chest before I get it ignition think I'm close to Max then ill get it

So what do you guys think of this quote my great Grandpa passed away a few months ago at 97 years of age he was a religious man he dearly loved God and he meant alot toto our family so I wanted to get this quote which represented him and represented the struggles of life so here's the quote "blessed be the lord my strength who teacheth my hands to war and my fingers to the fight "

is it wrong for me to walk up to a person with a paragraph on their body and I sit there and read it? I figured that's why they spent the money ;)

In for this. Awesome thread, OP. I've 3, ready for a half sleeve that goes on my shoulder blade next.....

Tattoos are sweet, need to finish filling myself up.

i've got about 11 of em depending on how you count em. One of my favorites though is a quote on my ribs

"the noblest fate that a man can endure is to place his own mortal body between his loved home and the war's desolation"

got it after I got back from Iraq in 03'

currently working a half sleeve on one arm and trying to think of a back piece to cover a "drunk tat" i got several years ago.
