Seated a lot depends on how much of an incline press you make it, and also how low you take it. heh

i don't know about dan but i was assuming strict standing... 315 is a **** ton of weight. most can't even do 2 plates let alone 3...

I stalled around 250 on strict standing at a body weight of 198, however I haven't done it in a bit as my training has changed. Look at Chris Hickson. Doesn't carry much size but can pull like a mother ****er. Granted I know what you are saying. Typically big pressers have a certain level of development. Big doesn't have to equal strong.
Hypertrophy increases muscle size, you would want to get stronger (strength change) to be able to move more weight for hypertrophy purposes.
