Eagles K Caleb Sturgis hit in head by pregame punt, has concussion

PITTSBURGH -- The Philadelphia Eagles are the most dangerous team in the league -- in pregame warmups.

Eagles kicker Caleb Sturgis will miss Thursday night's game against the Steelers with a concussion after a pregame punt hit him in the head.

Sturgis, who's competing with Cody Parkey for Philly's top kicking job, did not have his helmet on when the punt struck him.

Sturgis is in his second season with the Eagles after spending two years with the Miami Dolphins. Sturgis is 73-of-93 for his career, including 18-of-22 last season.

True, but RGIII's overall performance was not overwhelming. I'm curious to see how he looks net week versus all starters.

Bell had his suspension dropped to three games as well today.

NFL reduces Le'Veon Bell's drug-related suspension to 3 games

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell's suspension for missing league-mandated drug tests has been reduced to three games.

The NFL announced Bell's three-game suspension Friday, saying that the former Pro Bowler violated the league's substance abuse policy.

Bell's suspension was reduced from its initial length of four games as a result of a negotiated settlement between the NFL and the players' union, a source told ESPN's Dan Graziano.

Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell said he will "continue to do more" as he returns after having surgery for a torn MCL and PCL in November.
Also, as part of the settlement, Bell remains in his current stage of the NFL's drug program rather than advancing to the next one, the source told Graziano. The missed drug tests were found to be the result of a travel issue, and Bell did not inform the tester of his travel plans, according to the source.

I still won't draft him early in fantasy.

On the field, this may be a blessing in disguise for him and Steelers' fans. For all we know, he would have came back week 1, too early, and suffered a set back.

Dude is a proven winner. Romo needs to stay healthy to give Dak time to develop. If I'm JJ I'm not looking for a veteran backup with Dak on the team.
Why would you? I mean... A rookie who looks good against third and fourth and twenty fifth stringers is bound to take y'all to the promised land!!!!

Dak looked good, but still made some terrible mistakes and that was against sub par players. For example, the INT in the second that was negated due to roughing the passer. However, I am surprised by how he is reading the field. There were many instances were his first option was not open and instead of running, which most QBs like him do, he looked for the second or third option and went there.

Also on the Cowboy's front, Morris is looking really good. I'm curious to see how much Zeke is used if Morris continues this.

Patriots RB Dion Lewis needs second knee surgery, out indefinitely

From Jeff Fisher, on Saturday's game and the first two preseason weeks ...

Positives: Seven TD drives, running game, second-half offense, Hemmingway "making significant plays," zero second-half points.

Negatives: "Too many big plays, too many explosive plays, not enough plays on third down, not enough turnovers"'from the defense.

I'm curious to see if the Giants cut Brown after this backlash.

Also, the Pats cut RB Donald Brown after losing Dion Lewis. They are very thin there.

I just saw that. I could have sworn earlier today the ticker for ESPN stated released.
That was the original report but I'm guessing the Redskins called them and asked for a trade. They're in the 20s on the waiver so no way he would have made it to them. Good pick up.

Jets injury update: Rookie OLB Jordan Jenkins, a potential starter, is "day-to-day or week-to-week" with a calf injury, per Todd Bowles. Sounds like he may not play Saturday against the Giants. Mike Catapano is making a push for the strong-side OLB job. TE Jace Amaro (groin), WR Quincy Enunwa (concussion) and WR Kyle Williams (knee) were among those who didn't practice.

Dolphins players not traveling to Orlando for thisr preseason game against the Falcons: DT Earl Mitchell, LB Zach Vigil, CB Chris Culliver, QB Matt Moore and LB James-Michael Johnson. Obviously those players are out for tomorrow.

I bet all Cowboys fans were holding their breathe collectively last night. Also, not a good look for Zeke. Maybe he was curious and he has never seen a dispensary before, but he needs to know that being a public figure means the smartphone of those around him will come out. He has eyes on him all the time.

Brady looked pretty much on point. He is pissed and is going to run the league when his suspension is up.

Bills also lost two players to torn ACLs. They are decimated already.

And breaking news right now, Romo has a broken bone in his back...

Lol, yea. Not so breaking.

Out 6-10 weeks. At this point, he needs to get out of football. Players that have had less injuries than him have a hard time living a normal life post football and he has had a few serious injuries now.

Why are cowboy fans so biased?

Dak is no where near Luck...
You answered your own question.... They always have been and always will be.
brb lets trade for hardy who is a headache last year... and did nothing.
lets continue to draft offense when the defense of the cowboys needs a lot of work.
Lets continue to keep the same coach and go 8-8 and miss the playoffs almost every year.
The more injuries romo gets the more he will be like RG3.. Ever since he hurt his knee he has not been the same. Injuries can plaque QB careers, we have seen it plenty of times over time. I am surprised big ben is still standing after how many times that guy has been sacked.

Dak won't take the cowboys to the playoffs if romo can't play. At best they will go 6-10 with a rookie QB. when the heat is on and he has to play vs starters for 4 quarters it will be a night and day difference on his true performance. Preseason is simply that preseason. You are not seeing each teams true potential.

And you know this how? Dak hasn't even played one game in the NFL regular season, and Bradford's struggles last year were not injury related at all.
