2011 ScottyDoc's famous FINAFLEX sponsored Hallow-Lean / 16wk SHREDDDD!!!

That is one SICK hammer!

Gonna be ROCKING Halloween!

It needs a few more finishing touches, but what I am concerned about is how to wrap the leather around the handle to make it look like the one he had in the movie, I don't know how to do that and I don't feel like paying someone a ton of money to do something I am sure is pretty simple, I wonder if I could find a youtube or instructional video teaching you how to wrap a handle in leather???

probably, you can find ALL KINDS of wonderful things on youtube ;)

Is it braided leather in the movie or just wrapped? I am sure you could find some leather tennis racket handle wrap that you could put on there it has a light adhesive and would be very simple to use. Any avid tennis player could assist you in the proper technique.

Somehow I lost my subscription to this beast. I know you have been really busy si thought maybe you just had not updated. Sorry for the absence brother.

About to watch THOR right now!! Hammer looks awesome Doc!!

What's your montage song? Every great transformation in the movies has a montage....so what's yours?

Not sure, will have to think long and hard about that one!

No worries Brotha, glad to have you back Bro! I think it is braided, was hard to really find a good picture of it online because there are so many different representations of the hammer, I do know I am going to use real (rich/dark brown) leather and I want it to be a criss-cross type of braid! I will get a few pictures of me holding the hammer, it is done besides the braiding of the handle and it is a little bigger than the one in the movie, but looks so Fugging awesome!

I'm not exactly sure how big the one from the movie was, but this one is at least 2" longer and 1" wider than the one I see in the picture!

Thanx Bro, now it is all up to me to pull the body off, I have the size, just need to take it down at least another 4-5% to truly be legit!

Day 73 - 09/22/2011 - Light Leg Day (fail)

Exercise 1: Superset Individual Leg Curls with Leg Extensions
Set 1 - 50Lb per leg, leg curls for 25 reps, immediately followed by 100Lbs Leg extensions (toes in)
Set 2 - 50Lb per leg, leg curls for 25 reps, immediately followed by 100Lbs Leg extensions (toes out)

* Low Back was starting to hurt/ache again, don't need that messing me up for the rest of my run... I hate to quit half-way through a workout, but I just can't risk it, that is what I get for showing off to Morry with my Dead-Lifts, no biggy, LoL, it will feel better by Monday, just needs a few more days to heal! So being the hard-a$$ I am, when I quit legs I immediately got on the elliptical machine and put it on the highest level (level 20) and just did a slow, steady, sweating my A$$ off pace for 1 full hour, then hit the shower and came to work! Tomorrow I will still hit biceps & triceps as planned and will do another hour of cardio, then on Saturday, just cardio, well some abs and calves too! Based on my progress (good, but not good enough) I am going to keep doing an hour of cardio on a daily basis, I need to really get serious now, I mean I got the Fugging Hammer, I need to focus and keep my eye on the goal and do this $hit!

I have no doubt you will pull it off.
This might top the silver surfer costume.

I will die trying as far as pulling this off, but as far as topping the Silver Surfer costume, I highly doubt that, I mean I still need to find a decent blonde wig, I have blue eyes already, need to find a decent leather forehead crown/band, leather wrist & forearm type armer, and some sort of barbarian style leather pants, will be shirtless and holding the hammer, so not going completely all out, if I had his full armor & outfit, then maybe! But I'm not going to win anything, I'm just doing it to have fun and look Bad-A$$! If I really wanted to try and win something, I probably would have gotten much leaner, sacrificed muscle at all costs to get as crazy lean as possible and went as Green Lantern! But then again, Green Lantern has a lot of black in the outfit and I learned my lesson with black paint, it really hides how lean/vascular you are, I mean it might make me look skinny, but totally takes away from how ripped you are, black paint makes being ripped pointless!

I think it would be a great promo video for FinaFlex for you to put a bunch of your videos through out this transformation together to show the people a real life version of what hard work, dedication and the right supps can do!

Get a belt till ur back heals. I know you're against em but so was I.

BTW, ur bigger that Thor already. Go as Thors slutty brother Whore, the hammer weilding, cut up, focking machine!!!

Technically, THOR is HUGE, I mean they down-played him so they could find a more attractive actor to play the part! Same thing they did for Wolverine in X-Men... Wolverine is like 5'5" at best and Hugh Jackman is my size (6'2" 220Lbs) if not a little bigger than me... we'll see how much I weigh when I am shredded! I weighed exactly 230Lbs this morning, on the dot!

Haha. Damn the marvel comics heroes and their year round shredded bodies.

Looking good, Scotty! That hammer is freakin boss, too.

And as for your montage song, there is only one:

Set 5 - 3 plates on each side for 20 reps (toes-in)
Set 6 - 3 plates on each side for 20 reps (toes-out)

- This was a good fast workout, I finished it in 1hr. My first superset exercise was my best, after that, I seemed to burn out a little and had to use lighter weight and just feel the burn, still not complaining, very good workout, very good pumps. I was very tired when I was done, but I am proud of myself, I forced myself to do an hour of cardio on the elliptical machine after my workout, whew... I'm spent, just now... 2hrs later and a meal and 2 cups of coffee later, I'm starting to feel normal again, LoL, but it is my fault, I skipped my pre-workout meal, won't be happening again, not on a day where I do cardio after my workout, that is for sure!

Diet:
Meal 1 - 6 egg whites/1 yoke & 1 can of green beans (post-workout)
Meal 2 - 8oz Baked Chicken & 1 can of green beans
Meal 3 - 2 scoops Whey Protein in water
Meal 4 - 2 cans of tuna in water & 1 can of spinach
Meal 5 - 1 Walmart Rotisseri Chicken (feeling depleted, listening to my body)

Yea Thor is damn huge..
Wolverine is like 5'3" 300lbs 3% bf.
Haha. Damn the marvel comics heroes and their year round shredded bodies.

Well they are not super-heroes for nothing, LoL!

In the Marvel Universe, Thor's physical stats are:
Height: 6'6"
Weight: 600lbs. (Asgardian muscle tissue is much more dense than Earth mortals)

How heavy is that thing? So you are going as THOR as well?

Lol! It weighs 45lbs and no, I'm not going as Thor. I had it made for my job. We used to use an old circus hammer until I started making other wood hammers. Finally I got tired of them breaking and commissioned the making of that brute and four smaller ones that we use to drive the 1" oak pins to hold our frames together.

Guys they got bigger over time... they were nowhere near this huge in early sixties when these comics came out but the need for them to be bigger got a lot of focus just like it did in bodybuilding..

Is that what is happening to me? I mean my weight is not really going down, but my body fat is, I guess my Asgardian muscle tissue is starting to take over!

OK, well that thing is much heavier than my Hammer, I mean mine is made of 1/8" steel plates, so it definitely has some weight to it, but nothing close to 45Lbs, I would not be able to hold it if it weighed that much, I mean, not like I can hold this one where I am in complete control of it! I'm not saying that 45Lbs is a lot of weight, but on the end of a handle, it amplifies the weight... BIGTIME!

Very true, can't remember where I saw it, I think it was in a book store where they had all the different Marvel Hero's stats in a book, but from what I remember... Norrin Radd "Silver Surfer" is 6'4" 230Lbs.

Oh Look what I found, LoL, HALO is the name of a nightclub I used to work at a few years back and they still use this picture of me on Halloween 2009 as advertisement online, LoL...

It is a pretty damn good picture I must say, with the light, the black didn't wash out how lean I was... about 9% body fat if I remember correctly! Also it was at the end of the night, if you look you can see where the paint was wearing off in high friction places like my arm-pit and waist-line, but that isn't bad considering that was after working the whole night!

Here is the 1st Avengers in 63 I had issue number 4 and up but was missing a few here and there... look Hulk was a member till issue 6 and no Captain America!! He did not become and member till issue 4!! 1st Avenger my azz!! It was the Avengers who found him...

* Disc Golf with Morry again tomorrow (Sunday), Whew-Hew... can't wait, he's got me hooked on it, I have been thinking about it and anticipating the next time I can play again all week, not to mention I am looking forward to his company and us chatting up the weights and supplementation stuff as well, Good-Times gentlemen, good times!!!

haha!! Eat them free foods!!

Also, nice exercise 3!! My abs would have gave and I probably would have hurled after set 1....

Nice workout, and good idea to back off on that leg workout. No need to injure yourself for a costume. I agree with Morry get a belt use it as needed but don't rely on it. Age is a biatch man sometimes we need the support tools to do what we need or want to do. Training through an injury or allowing to heal is one of those times.

Consider yourselves invited to come and see what NTBM Transaderm can do for me with no specific changes to diet and only minor changes to training style.

Guys, I actually held that hammer. It is focking AWESOME. I guessed the damn thing weighed 35lbs....right. I was only 27 or so pounds off.

I'm considering going to the costume party with Al. Have been toying with the Hulk idea. Maybe a Spartan. I have some leaning out to do if I'm going to do that though.

That would be so awesome if you were to come Bro, totally Killer! Oh and just to let every know about what Morry is talking about, the metal hammer I am holding weighs exactly 8Lbs 5.8oz according to our postage scale, but if you held it in your hands, no one who has held it has thought it weighed less than 25Lbs, crazy how both misleading it can be and also how much heavier (physics) something is when it is on the end of a handle! I mean when I told Morry how much it weighed after he guessed like 30Lbs he looked at me and just shook his head and said, "No way, your scale is broke dude" and then I placed it in his hand upside down and told him to imitate a curl and I think when he was no longer holding it by the handle did he realize that it really is 8 1/2 Lbs!

My dad and I used to take an 8lb sledge hammer with a full length handle and mess with guys. It's amazing how some guys have no wrist/grip strength! What we would do is hold the handle all the way at the bottom with one hand, leave our elbow locked and then hold the sledge straight out in front of us. From there, just by moving our wrist, we would touch our nose with the face of the sledge. Had a pretty good laugh at some guys that almost busted themselves in the nose trying it! Lmao!!

It is all about the physics/leverage of it, simply amazing how big of a difference it can make!

Day 76 - 09/25/2011 - No exercise (Disc Golf with Morry again)

OK, so Morry and I met out there at the park again to play some disc golf and we did all 18 holes and once again he showed me how much I need to keep practicing, I did play much better this time around, so I am improving. Feeling good, no back pain!

So after disc golf I picked up my daughter and met Morry around the corner where the three of us at lunch at Frontera Mex. Restaurant, yes, I ate bad, he was paying, what can I say, it is all his fault, LoL, I ate a Cuban Sandwich, nothing healthy or lean about it other than I'm sure I got my protein from that meal, about all I can say about that. Oh and my wife works at the restaurant, so she was our server, so very nice after game meal, Thanks Bro!

So later that day, my daughter loves the whole disc golf thing as well, because last week she went with us and we let her use all the discs on every goal to throw them in (putting) and she loves it, so she was upset that Morry and I went without her and I promised I would take her later that day, I figured what the hell, I mean if I'm ever gonna give Morry a run for his money, I best be practicing. So my daughter and I went out there and threw another 18 holes, now I don't know what was going on, but my right glute started to hurt and send sciatic nerve like pain shooting down my leg. This pain was not happening from throwing, just about half way through 9th goal or so it just started to hurt as I was walking and it got worse and worse and worse, that by the time I got in my car and drove home (all of 5 mins) I had to spend like 3 mins just to get out, I don't know how to describe this pain guys, I mean it hurts, my whole leg feels weak, just crazy! I went to sleep early, around 9:00pm, but was woken up when my wife got in from work around 11:30pm and stayed up chatting with her until around 12:30am and it was still hurting and I was doing a lot of painful tossing and turning, nothing seemed to relieve the pain/discomfort.

Day 77 - 09/26/2011 - Fuggin Cripple!

When I woke up this morning, it was worse than ever, not my groin on that leg feels like it has been strained/pulled as well! I am a Fuggin Mess over here, I feel like a damn cripple and can't figure this out for the life of me! I drove my daughter to school and then instead of going to the gym (could not think of what I could do that would not hurt it, I mean sleeping hurts it) I just went back home and slept for another hour and a half and then woke up to come to work and here I am. This really sux bad! I mean based on how it is hurting I won't even be able to do the elliptical until this subsides, so it looks like another week of no legs, (not happy) I will do Shoulders & Traps tomorrow, Back on Wed, I have to go to a special "Daddy's" breakfast with my daughter at her school on Thursday and I will do Biceps and Triceps on Friday and hopefully if I am up to it, I will try the elliptical on Saturday!

This is just so weird guys, I mean when I hurt my back last Sunday, I know how, when, where and why I hurt it! This time, I don't have a single answer to any of those questions, I mean it isn't like I did something where I can say, ever since then it started to hurt, I just noticed it was a little sore, then it got worse and worse and worse until finally it is at the point where it is now, just crazy! But don't worry, I'm not giving up anything and I will continue to diet and exercise around my injury and besides losing time on my legs, which in the big scheme of things won't be that big of a deal, I can still work my other body parts and if I have to just spend time in the Sauna instead of doing the elliptical then so be it, no excuses I will still hit my mark, hell I'll roll out in a FUGGIN WHEEL CHAIR holding that HAMMER if I have to, LoL!

Damn man sorry to hear that, be careful with training. Hope you heal up quick Al!

Have you tried sitting in a hot tub for a while? The only thing that I can think might have happened is maybe you got a good push-off or a bad twist when throwing the disc? I don't know man, I've had this same pain to where it hurts down the whole leg and glute and the back of the knee just feels super weak. What has always helped me there is to just lay flat on my back and pull both legs up to my chest for a while. After that, put one leg straight and one across the body trying to touch the floor with my foot while my back stays flat on floor. Best wishes bro!

Ugh that leg pain seems terrible, I remember having that before! Hopefully it doesn't hinder your progress or goals, however; Health is a more pertinent issue! I hope the best for you
