Kat and Puccah's Strong is the new sexy log

New case is awesome!!

I need some leg workouts that will help me work around my knee injury. I'm about 95% all better but there are certain movements I can't do, like fully straighten my leg or locking out (fcuk, I miss Romanian deads).

I attempted to deadlift the other day and it wasn't too bad, and all leg sessions have been light with high reps.

I guess I really just want something to work out my hams. Lunges are out and leg curls are extremely lights weight only.

Help and thanks! :)

Good mornings? Invalid Link Removed

Sorry, I'll keep wracking my brain!

What if you lay, face down, half off a flat bench and bring your heels to your butt? No added weight besides gravity?

Sounds like a sexual position...

All I know is that Paige Hathaway looks hot AF when she does it! :P

Ok puccah, I have spent the last 30 minutes looking for this video, lol anyways, I'm not complaining cause it's Ms Paige, but hopefully you can do this with little to no knee pain and work those hammies!

Thank you, lifted! You're the best! Heading to the gym now... Oh wait, I gotta tan first! :)

This natty competition is not what I expected!

My coworker is telling me to try the military diet.

Me: Honey, I lift, that's not enough calories for me to have any energy.

Wait I must have missed something, what Natty contest Puccah?

I went to a show to get some inspiration and motivation. Got them both but a lot of the competitors were not that great looking.

Who knows, maybe someday I'll be on that stage... :)

Go for it Puccah! There was a dude in novice at my first show the had the conditioning of a sophomore spring breaker and the posing skills of a dead fish. My advice, always get a good coach lol

Yeah, especially local shows. Even with the NPC untested shows I have seen guys on stage in the novice @ 10%, and guys on stage in the open around 8% always surprises me.

I was between 5%-6% for mine, probably too lean for mens physique but it was almost night and day between my leanness and the other guys on stage.

Yes, 2 people had just loss over 100 lbs but they decided to compete. Both of them were not competition ready. Honestly, I was really irked by the show!

It's like kids playing sports these days, everyone wins and you're picking the best out of the what you're given. Again, kudos to their passion and drive to get on stage but one lady won just because she was the only person in that category.

Idk just to compete in a show alone is like $200 unless I'm training to win I wouldn't waste my money.

As for the only people in their division category instead of letting them compete just hold their entry for a later/bigger show nearby when they can at least go up again 5 to 5+ other people. It really is just all about the money to the promoters.

Oh and the person who ran the show made sure to talk about how bad steroids are.

Me: How are you going to promote health when you're overweight?!??!?

Lol "steroids are bad mmmkay, you shouldn't do steroids."

*Steroids* are bad. You should not do *steroids*. You should not use *steroids* to prepare for shows. Come see me after the show if you're thinking of doing *steroids* so I can "talk you out" of doing them ... the *steroids*. Any *steroids* you might be wanting to try.

That is normal as far as if there is only one person in your category you are the winner by default. That is why they have OverAlls. If you win by default you still have to look good for the overall spots.

Also physique shows are a place for people to show physiques they are proud of. We can't go getting all elitist and say someone who lost 100lbs but isn't ripped yet shouldn't be allowed on the stage. So long as they don't win out of sympathy, just getting on stage is their reward to themselves for the big weight loss.

Not being a dick here, but if a person pays to compete they should get to compete. You honestly think someone should have to go through prep only to be told that they can't compete because no one else is in their category? That is more about the competitor than the competition. You don't rob someone of an opportunity they busted their ass for just because no one else showed up. Imagine you did a 16 week prep paid for a coach, posing lessons, posing trunks, hotel, spray tan, and after that 600-2000 you spent the promoter says. Sorry you wasted your time, money and effort but you are the only person in your category so you can't compete but come back in 3 months and we will let you for free...

Sounds like you guys are thinking more about being entertained and seeing what you want to see at a show. Not what the competitors are there for and if their need / desire to compete is being met. Keep in mind the competition is for the athletes participating, and not for what the audience wants to see. You are simply a voyeur at that point. The only entertainment is the guest poser. Everyone else is competing or fulfilling a personal need on that stage.

Wow, no, not the way I was thinking at all, promoters have an idea ahead of time how many they'll have in a class. If it's a month to the show and still one person in say: women's bodybuilding then just get ahold of the girl and tell her. Maybe reach out to other regional promoters to see if they have any roster of past competitors to at least get a stable made.
I just feel if you're going to train, and pay, and kill yourself, and starve yourself, etc. Coming in 1st against no one won't be that satisfying. These are just thoughts I had, I feel like you took all that I said the wrong way.

I agree. It just wasn't what I expected. I won't be going to any more of these shows. Kudos to everyone who participated, I wouldn't have the nerves to do it.

In the overall, she came in last.

Have you done a lot of shows? Just asking because a lot of people, especially the locals show up the day before to sign up. Many won't sign up early for the exact reason you stated. They don't want to mess up on prep and have to choose to be out the money for the show, or to get on stage in sub par condition. It makes it really hard to call people a month out and still by that time anyone planning to compete has time and money invested already.

I was just going off of your statement "Instead of letting them compete hold their entry fee until a later show." Any time you have someone tell you that you can not compete because of something out of your control when you have already paid for and prepared for it is unacceptable.

I didn't think you were being rude about it or any negative connotations. Just that perhaps you had not considered it from the competitors point of view, and what they have invested in it by the time it is time to get up on stage. Not being able to compete under that situation would be a crushing experience and the last prep I ever did if I got turned away over something that trivial.

There is no malice in this so don't think of it as such. Just a discussion. Not on a soap box or anything, don't feel like you are being corrected. Just talking. :)

I guess I'm just spoiled because where I live we have shows all the time in about a 100 mile radius so if you can't compete in one show you adjust your prep by a week and you have another show just a few miles down the highway you can do.

Thanks Tommy! I have a ways to go to be even close to competition shape. I am probably about 12-15% right now, and closer to the 15%.
