KLEEN's Competition Prep - From bleak to FREAK in 20 weeks!

Hyperbolic time chamber went from extremely hot to extremely cold. Rough temperatures to push themself through during training. But let's not get off topic :D

I don't think the time chamber had any extra gravity, it's just that 1 week there was only like 1 hour of regular time (or something ridiculous like that). Vegeta trained in the gravity chamber at like 500x gravity though. Invalid Link Removed

Splain please?
Ben Pakulski has a program high volume lighter weight. He uses his degree in kinesiology to specifically target muscles so overly heavy weights are not needed. Very intelligent and scientific design.
Wait, tabata in a sauna?
Oh ya baby was time to bring the pain.
Oh man you guys are making me feel really old or just out of touch. Maybe both
Haha ya something to do with Dragon Ball Z. In think it is because I am like a Super Sayen you know when they swell up with muscles! I used to watch with my son.

I got it from a friend. Not sure where he got it.
Just did a back workout of his from facebook. Lots of volume
Yeah there is a good amount of volume, but he demonstrates what he calls "Intentions" on the videos, basically the things to do that make the exercises target the muscle more. I need to see if I have anyway to load them somewhere. It is a whole DVD.

So today was leg day, just giving the High Lights from the two heavier compounds here because I want to go lay on the couch and watch tv with the wife.

Squats 3 second negatives last sets of 275x10, 315x6, 335x6, 345x6
Leg Press 3 second negatives - 730x10, 820x10, 910x10

Was a hard lift today, pushed it and then went home, leg curls and lunges were also done today.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!!

Love me some dragonballz.

Going to go hit up the gym here in a little while today is Arm day, but going to add in some Tabata too.

Dude it feels like all my workouts are tabata-like this past week. Less than a minute rest on everything. Its a real gut check. Have you seen the actual Tabata workouts yet? Like by Dr Tabata and some trainer

I looked but don't see anything from him specifically. You got a link?

So yesterday was an arm day, was supposed to be 2 triple sets but ended up being 3 super sets.

Warms Ups Rope extensions 70x12 x 3 sets, Rope Curls 50x15 x 3 sets

Superset 1
DB Kick Backs first 6 normal second 6 palms up - 25x12, x12, x12, x10 - doing the last 6 of each set with the palms up was ridiculous!
Seated DB Curls 3 seconds negatives - 25x8, 30x8, 35x8, 35x7

Superset 2
Bent Overhead Rope Triceps Ext - 100x12, 120x12, 120x12, 120x12
Wide Grip Barbell Curls 3 second negatives - 75x8, 75x8, 75x8 75,x8

Superset 3
Seated Dip Machine 3 second negatives - 270x8, 300x8, 300x8, 300x8
Preacher Curl Machine 2 second negatives 1 second hard flex at top - 95x8, 95x8, 95x7, 85x7

All in all this was a pretty intense lift. I was surprised by the amount of sweating I was doing from an arm workout. Have a little DOMS today so it worked well!

Bent overhead rope triceps extension?

Grab the rope facing away from the weight stack, bend over at the waist then extend the arms out above and in front of your head.

Basically a DB Overhead Triceps Extension with a cable for constant tension in the long head of the triceps.

I do these all the time, great finished for a good burn as well..

Crazy, I would be curious to see a video of you doing them to see what is going on there.
I saw it on bb.com over the summer. He's slangin his program somewhere
Oh yeah he hooked up with that Vince guy who sends out all the emails. So it is out there.
Hi!

Ola!

Sorry to have been out of reach. Have honey bees invading my home and everything has been on hold. Cost to have removed is huge when repairs to the home and structure are included. I don't think I will be able to even compete in March with everything that is snowballing...

I am still going to set up the goal thread and will send out links to it tonight if I have the chance.

Dude that's horrible news. You've been on a string of awful luck. Hope that turns around quick, and everything freezes down there in Texas for a week and the bees die off and all you gotta do is vacuum them up.

Holy crap........gather up the honey and sell it to the Organic Nuts at insane prices. That should help with the costs.

Damn brother that's very unfortunate though for real. If you need anything just let me know.

They cause structural damage? Sorry to hear this Kleen.

I'm assuming they'll have to do damage to remove the nest. Sorry to hear Buddy

They can. The 2x4s can get messed up and warped pretty badly as the hive expands plus bees can chew through stuff if they need to. The window trim on the outside is now bowing and pushing away from the bricks. Looks like the hive is between the brick and the fire wall, not just in the drywall. The moisture in there can get pretty bad as well. Plus if they can not get it all the honey draws in insect and rodent infestations...

Yep this as well, last time they had to remove a few feet of support beams that were ruined and had to have all of that replaced. They may have to remove a section of the brick wall to get the hive out too, if they do the price goes way up and then I have to pay a masonry to come put the bricks back up... Last time we had them removed from the same place it was 800 just for the removal not including putting any of the brick or wood back up. Then we had to pay someone to fix the stuff they left apart.

Here is a picture of just one of the lights and of a ventilation and an AC vent outside my shower. I put screen up over it to stop them from coming in after I had already killed a couple hundred bees. I had to tape every one in the back side of my house up.

Holy mackerel Kleen, what a mess. The bees aren't Africanized are they? What a weird thing to happen. Hope all goes well!

That really does suck!!! I had a hive about 2 months ago in a crawl space in my house.. Lucky for me they could not get in the house and now that it's cold here those bastards are all dead..

That is a ****load of bees, wtf is going on over there o.o!!!
Nothing good...
...speechless. Really sucks Chris.
Yeah the hits just keep rolling in... Now the guy called my wife and went to the Doctor because he is sick. He said he was still coming but I told her to call this other guy if he wasn't there or on his way by 2:30. I haven't slept more than an hour in two nights. Running off of diet pills and adrenaline. Since I got stung on my forehead in my sleep every time I feel even a leg hair move I wake up to it and the inevitable surge of adrenaline I get keeps my wide awake for a while. Last night one landed somewhere near my head and I couldn't find it but sure as hell heard it land. So that made it even worse.

No just a hive that was up there didn't look like a problem then the cold weather caused the wax to break and honey to leak into the house through a light switch so they went crazy trying to recover the honey. Outside there are now thousands of bees flying around, it looks like a constantly moving cloud.

If they were honey bees they will be back in the spring. Better get up there and get the hive removed.

Well I am physically exhausted and now having to move an entire floor of people onto another floor and my own work area as well. So been running nonstop up here. No gym yesterday and tonight if I can I am just going to go to sleep. Stuff like this is ridiculous. I finally sat down to my first meal of the day a minute ago. 8 oz of fat trimmed smoked brisket and 8 oz of smoked turkey breast. Trying a little carb backloading right now. Also while crazy busy going back to my IF to keep from gaining any weight.

Complete horror story:(

Only bright side I see to this story is: free honey :)

All seriousness, that blows. Hopefully they'll get infestation under control and taken care of!

I like honey, I don't mind bees. I don't like too much honey and swarms of bees are scary. Sorry about your situation Chris. Hopefully something good will come of it. Most things happen for a reason.

Don't want to hijack kleens thread.. But, wut?
Whether it be a learning experience, or something that you can't see the good in at the time, if you try to remain positive about seemingly negative things in your life many times something good will come of it. For instance, if your house is multilevel and you have to evacuate one floor and move everyone to closer/tighter quarters, in essence you have brought your family closer together. What doesn't kill you should make you stronger.

Man I didn't get any honey... it had run down the electrical cord, the bees had been eating it ever since it started cooling down so there wasn't mauch left at all. Plus he killed them instead of relocating them so the honey that was there was full of insecticide.

It didn't kill me. :) This is my time of trials, I have been through the fire and every time I come out of them to the time of celebration.

No hijack good question...

And a good answer. I don't know if everything in life happens for a reason but if you keep hope and a positive attitude you can learn and grow from every seemingly unfortunate situation as long as you don't give up before you get through. I find that as long as I keep faith that it will get better it always does, and I tend to appreciate things more after.

If anything this past 3-4 months with my injury, my Dad's health, and not being able to work and needing my help. The issues with my home has reminded me that my fitness goals are not the only thing in life. They are a great distraction and source of self fulfillment. Excellent for motivation and discipline. However they can easily take over and seem bigger than life, it is then that life reminded me what was bigger. Do I think there is a cosmic reason, not so much but this has served to remind me that there is no need for me to put my budget or things I want for my family below them as a priority. I was quite upset at first slowly realizing that I couldn't afford to do this show coming up in March. I was upset and trying to figure out a way but bottom line is I simply need a few more months to save. My sciatica needs a few more months to completely heal and my hard head was going to just keep pushing through if things hadn't gotten to the point that it was going to be impossible. There are a couple shows between March and July I can do that are close enough for me to enter if the money is right. I don't need to rush but I want to get myself in striking distance. Hence the challenge I am going to do with some of the other guys on the forum. I am about to right it up and it is going to be something fun to be a part of.

I will link that up here shortly and will probably do most of my updated there or do a full time log like a lot of the other guys are doing since at this point I am not sure when it will be feasible for me to do a show but know it will not be in March.

So.....training session....when is good for you homie? I know you have a lot on your plate so no rush. jimbuick you still down?

Okay here is the new challenge log me and the boys are doing. Head on over and join in on the fun.

Sounds good how about you jimbuick ?

Talking about the Sunday before xmas. If Kleen is willing to drive that 24 hour in the woodlands would be decent I guess.....or we can go to the 24 me and Chris went to and Jim can ride with me or something. Dunno lol
