Danb's Mountain Dog and everything else log

Nice numbers on the deadstops, especially with no rest.

Thanks dude. Rest periods are going to continue to drop heading into phase 3 these next 2 weeks on my 3rd and 4th sets I'm going to cut the rest periods in half of what the 1st two were. So I'm looming at 15-20 secs for my last 2 sets on everything. Should get interesting

Yikes! Intensity!!

That's the plan buddy. Peeking ahead and phase 3 and it looks intense!

Side note...400 cals goes way too fast lol

Lol yeah 400 ain't much

If there were no calories in it Snags would offer you some cheese with your wine lmao

kidding bro

Lol you might be kidding but your probably right

Dan beezy how many reps you doing on those pull ups?

The NG's were 12/10/8 and the wide OH grips were 8/6/6. Not a whole lotta reps but 213 lbs is a lot of weight to pull up lol

For your weight that is pretty impressive. Nice work. Sorry was just curious.

No worries brother. Nothing to be sorry about lol. And thank you. I'm trying to get those LTL back cuts!

Forgot to mention this earlier....Put oats in my PWO shake for the first time ever...Not sure how I feel about it lol to start off with I was in a hurry and grabbed what I believed to be the 1/4 cup measuring cup an threw it in. Only to realize once I finished that I actually grabbed the 1/2 cup! So I ended up about 150cals and 25g carbs over my macros today. 2nd thing is I tried to grind them the other day and they don't grind at all (steel cut) so my shake had quite the odd texture to it lol. Nothing like a crunchy PWO shake to start your day off! It should be much easier to drink though with the right size serving of oats lol

Never could get over the texture of steel cut oats.

I actually prefer the texture of steel cuts....cooked lol. TBH I don't know if there is any nutritional advantage they have on regular old fashion style oats though? I just like the way they taste more than regular lol

yep - steel cut hold more nutrition than regular oats..
and, the more processed the oat, the less nutritive value it has (ie, the powdered packets usually sweetened from quaker, worst there is not even considering the sweetened part)..unsweetened instant oats right behind that..
for your shakes however, you will either have to cook the steel cut and then throw them in there, or use old-fashioned oats instead

and - in the postWO timeframe, we are splitting hairs anyway:
you could use even the powdery sugary crap if you so choose, w/o affecting body comp noticeably
nutrition-wise tho, I always opt for the healthier way to go, esp on reduced cals

Might be a dumb question so excuse me if it is but do they hold different nutritional value cooked vs uncooked? Is there a reason other than texture I'd have to cook them for my shake?

nope
just keeps the crunchy shake away is all..on a smaller note, will help with digestion a tad

oh - and don't worry about the extra cals yesterday, will be inconsequential if not a positive
you should be feeling pretty nice & full this morning

Sweet ill probably just keep tossing them in uncooked then. Just much more convenient. And funny you say that (about feeling full)because that's the first thing I thought when I looked in the mirror this morning lol

Off day today. 13 hrs at work yesterday and 5 hours of sleep last night has me whooped. Turns out 2 yr olds don't care if you didn't get home until 2 AM when they want their breakfast at 7:00 lol. Another 12-13 hr day today. And legs tomorrow.

Enjoy that day off, much deserved bro.

There is one huge benefit to the crunchy oats, because they make you chew your protein shake. The chewing motion is what releases the saliva which has the digestive enzymes in it. As they say the digestion process starts in the mouth. Without the enzymes many gastric or digestive issues can occur which is why you now see all the protein companies adding in the enzymes. Since no one is chewing their shakes they do not get the release of the enzymes so it needs to be supplemented or you hear of protein powder bloat burps, farts and general discomfort from a lot of people. Consider your crunchy shake putting you naturally ahead of the curve.

By the way I know the intent of the chest shot earlier was to show the razor burn but your chest looks much better / thicker in that picture too.

Never thought about that. I've seen you mention it before though. Thanks for the reminder man. And thanks for the kind words. I'm comin along. I don't think I'll ever be satisfied but hell it's an idea worth chasing I guess lol

I throw my oats in a single cup blender to powderize them before adding anything else. Makes it a lot easier to swallow.

That's what I did but it didn't blend them at all. If I remember right I think GB said he just puts them in a bowl with milk and eats them like cereal lol

Haha I doubt that I'm to that level just yet maybe in a few more weeks I can inspire someone though lo

Imagine 12 weeks from now. Just sayin.
This^ or this time next year.

Fap fap fap....
Haha you nasty
Damn bro, you are shredding it up!
Thanks brotha! I'm trying!

Wow can't believe all the support in here! Thanks so much to all you guys! You guys motivate me more than you realize! My physical therapist asked me if I was a swimmer today because my upper back was so much wider than my waist! Made me feel pretty good haha. Granted I don't think she realizes how many people with a swimmers physique (wide Lats small waist) would be p1ssed that she compares my physique to theirs but ill take it.
Thanks again fellas much appreciated
