So is the rumor true . . . the Queen is the next Bond girl? That was amazing to see her parachute into the stadium, she must've been special ops in her youth.
 
Out of interest what were your thoughts on the opening ceremony? I would be curious to know what foreign people thought of it.

Haha, I wasn't sure on the humour of it. It seemed very surreal to have the Queen in a video clip with a fictional character.

I wondered how it portrayed our country. When it started I thought "oh God, they are making us out to still live in the middle ages" lol.

I dont think I have ever watched an Opening Ceremony in totality, so I've never seen the entire "production" and did not know it was a PRODUCTION of such magnitude. As a history teacher I appreciated the historical theme of the production as they started with the agrarian lifestyle of England and transitioned into the industrial age that changed the world, also the musical changes were fun.

It was interesting with the national healthcare being a prominent theme as we struggle with such a concept across the pond. I have heard of several Euro nations that LOVE their national healthcare system, so why can't we make it work?

I was gonna go this year, but I didn't have any lodging and well...I don't think T3 would've liked you taking me in as your guest Ben :).

(And now in all honesty...my Internship screwed me up :( I wanted to go so f*cking bad!!...my parents used the money for my trip to the olympics for a new car...cheap bastards...)

I have Ben's gym addy, I can just stalk him and wait for him to leave and follow him home!...Shouldn't be hard to find, a Human Sized Chiseled Otter walking around in a Speedo? I would have to be blind to miss that haha.

I wondered about the NHS theme actually because I know it doesn't have a good reputation amongst you. I was kind of surprised they featured it.

I didn't watch the opening ceremony; didn't watch China's, either. Sadly, I don't have much interest in the Olympics. That's pretty poor to say, but it just hasn't captured me and made me feel compelled to watch.

Same here. Every time I try to watch the Olympics, there's always something on like the stupid floor routines of ghey guys running and jumping with a freakin ribbon........wait, or was that the video that Tony sent me? Ehh, still don't watch the Olympics.

I think it is silly that they update the medal count and keep tabs for us. I honestly do not care if the US wins so many medals or events, it does not affect me. I like the competitiveness, the energy, the commitment of olympic athletes. I do not use the term "represent" because no one represents me but me.

I remember a Stanford bb game back when the Lopez brothers were playing . . . a guy at the pizza pub watching the game shouted, "You gotta represent!" Well, he was of Mexican descent . . . but do the Lopez bros represent him? I think not.

I feel the same way about pro sports, I do NOT have a favorite team nor do I own any jerseys. I do not need any team to make me feel better about my life. I mock when people post on FB that they live for their team . . . bleed Dodger blue, Lakers for life. Who cares?!?!?!?! Not I . . . .

They should really start teaching this Proper Form BJ at every Gym in the country. Women have to be aware of the marital benefits it poses. Furthermore, I would watch the Olympics more if it included this kind of sport.

I'm actually enjoying the hell out of watching the Olympics. Funny thing I noticed yesterday, was that the male gymnasts were more jacked than the weightlifters. I guess they have to be to do some of the things they do.
