Summary:
I started tracking weight daily and I can't believe how quickly I have started to lose weight. I have just hit my half way point today and things have only recently begun to kick up. I am under 220 lbs and and I have not been at this weight in over 14 years. I think I now want to hit 212 lbs when I am done. That's another 8 lbs or so. Not possible ?.......I like a challenge. Hey, why not make the goal loftier ? Lets go for under 210 lbs by end of the log !!!
All day energy was good, but more importantly my workout energy was off the charts. I have not had this kind of energy since about 2 months ago when i was on the Licogenix run. More on workout results related to energy boost later.
Appetite was good again, but there were no urges at any point to over eat. I think I was eating with purpose making sure I intake carbs at a proper time.
I went to the gym full of energy and I was ready to jump on an elliptical literally. After 10 minutes on it, I knew it was going to be a great run. Pace was good and my energy level continued to climb and I was sweating profusely. When I was done, I hit a level I have not reached in several weeks. Over 1,000 calories burned again !!! I felt light and still full of energy ready to tackle the next step. I say the energy issue is gone for good !
Next is back. I am reducing the number of sets again. The philosophy now is to include more cardio and destroy bodypart in lesser number of sets and go for PRs on compound lifts for all bodyparts except for legs. When I was suffering with energy issues, I knew I had to stay on the volume training to compensate. Now that I feel like I can do cardio at the level i like, I am going to gradulally reduce volume. This will be a good transition to move onto another program. Maybe 5/3/1.
Started with rows right away. The weight felt heavy from set 4 and on as I was trying to do more controlled slow reps. When I got to the 6th set, I beat the previous PR by 2 reps. Awesome !!! I did these clean also with no form breaks. Feeling strong I added 20 more lbs for 430 lbs. These were MF'ing heavy. It felt like my arms were going to pull out of my sockets. I did 6 for a new PR, but I am not sure. I think maybe 3 of them were clean, so i am not going to call this a PR. "I need to do a better job !" I was not happy, so torture ensued. three drops sets of 6 reps each. These pretty much destroyed me. i slumped over trying to catch my breath for over a minute. Finally moved over to pulldowns and did 8 pretty strict sets.
Tomorrow might be a cardio only day since I lifted 2 days in a row. We shall see.
Onto tomorrow.
