Big Boys on quest for leanness phase 2

3/13/12

Tonight was all cardio. Did 40 minutes of various speed and various incline. Went as high as 8.0 @ 7 mph. For the next couple days it will be this same way. If I can drum up the energy I will do double cardio tomorrow and Thursday. Friday will be a actual upper body workout along with cardio. Then when I get home it will be epsom salt bath time. As I have the Warrior Dash this Saturday. Strength wise I feel ready now as far as cardiovascular that is another story. But things can change in the next couple of days.

And of course like I mentioned earlier our supplements are on the brown truck and will be here before the weekend hopefully. I have been lacking in the whey protein and the BCAA's big time. But not for long.

Dooo it man! I need to check my measurements this week. I haven't measured in a couple. My belly is the guy that doesn't like to shrink much, I'm tired of seeing my arms and leg shrink by not the belly. I know its the last to go, but dang it if you don't look fatter when everything else is shrinking and your belly isn't. I have determined that my belly has inside of it a giant tumor.

I know all so well what your talking about. Only difference is I actually do have a large hernia in the belly area. lmao.

It's kinda embarrassing to say this but my biggest problem is how droopy my stomach is now as I lose weight the skin droops more and more. I'm probably going to have to have a tummy tuck. It upsets me greatly that I let my self get that so far out of control. I don't even know where to begin when I think about it. Something that I get upset about probably daily.

I am using some lotion from st. Ives that has been helping. I am also in that boat just look at my pics. One reason why I can be so mad that I have pretty much averaged 2 lbs a week. There was only a few times that I lost 5 or ore in a week but it was early on.

2lbs a week is great though man, I don't know why but my body goes in spurts, I've lost so little this last week, but this week I've already seen a drop.

Keep your head up. You have also came a long way. Only time will tell how things end up. Just have faith and reach your personal goal.

Oh my head is still up, just frustrating. I have about 40-50 more pounds to go, which when you compare it to the 120 lost you would think no big deal, but it's true what they say once you start getting closer to goal weight it gets harder and harder. BF% this morning was 22.9% and I'm starting to get noticeable bulging veins (2 in left, 1 in right...I know nerdy observation) in my arms (Much to my excitement, my wife doesn't understand why I thought it was a big deal) just that evil dang evil belly.

I call it the dunlap disease. Meaning the belly has dun lapped the belt. Lol

Aye, my skin near my navel droops like the jowels Of a damn bassett hound! One day I am gonna have a 4 pack & freakin "droopy dog" at my belly button! Jr. What's done is done, let's move forward!

This morning was good. Did about 20 minutes of jump rope when i got to the office. And will do some HIIT cardio tonight. No legs training tonight since I have the Warrior Dash on Saturday. Need to rest these mini tree trunks up. lol

As an aside, got in a fresh 5lb tub of MGN Cake batter protein (The American Iso variety, the chocolate of that line is a bit too sweet, but the cake batter is good stuff.) Also, if anyone is interested, running a Combustion Log here:

I know what you mean ... I hoping my constant use of the power patch and me still being in my late 20s save me from having this for the rest of my life hehe. Well if not I guess I could just try and fill up my gut with ab muscles....

Look for them pics tomorrow lol. I just gotta edit them so I can upload them here. :)

Took kind of a controlled cheat, has been about a month and we had a carry in at work, I pretty much stuck with the plan except I allowed myself a piece of lemon Pie, a sugar cookie and another small cookie. Fed from 12-8:30.

Not sure. Jeff has me beat on Bench but I think I dominate the lower body stuff, but then again, D2 never posts his working weights so he may be kickin' the **** out of all of us.

Not sure about lower body stuff. I dont try to go heavy. I know I can do the hack squat and max it out at 810. I don't go heavy on barbell squats. Or at least until I get my hernia removed. LOL... Leg press I can probably do what Kleen and doc could do. I haven't tried to max out in many years. LOL

Today day was a ruff one. My uncle passed on a little over and hour ago. So my mind is all over the place. I was able to hit the gym before this all took place. I may consider doing another cardio session tonight or just relax I am not sure yet. I have the warrior dash tomorrow and my run starts at 12pm. I did not lift heavy tonight as i didn't want to go too hard and not have energy or strength tomorrow.

Don't worry about this little contest at all. Family will always come first no matter what. Grant it we are all like family here just not the same when it is blood.

Yes you can do this. But only under the correct atmosphere. I have been in your shoes once before and lost my uncle today. Even with a heavy heart just hear me this one time. Take care of your dad. Keep him as comfortable as possible. You don't want to look back one day and say I wish I would have.....

Nobody said there wouldn't be bumps in the road, it's all another way to test us and make us stronger. Deal with the important stuff then when things get settled get back on track. Try to sort out the things you have control of and the things you have to let go. Take care of your end and let the rest take care of itself.

I had trouble sleeping so I got up in the middle of the night and hit the gym. I'm going too pay for it today, but I blew off some steam anyway

Bench Press
255 X 7
Max is around 315 it tears my shoulders up when I do 275 X 3, 4, 5 so I try to avoid it anymore.

Squats
295 X 7

DeadLift
315 X 7

Barbell Row:
195 X 7

Those are my main lift numbers.

Actually I do that a lot. I have a pretty high stress job and some times I'll just go to the gym or the track and blow off steam. The track is pretty nice at 2-3 in the morning where I am. All you have is some basic street lights so it's lit just enough that you can see the track. I was told by the field maintenance guy where the lights were if I ever wanted to turn them on but I like just the dark cold feel when I need to chill. Funny enough is all the people you will see driving around at 2-3 in the morning! I live in a rural town and it's pretty funny to see all the people up and moving around at that time of the day still!

Keep at it, blow the steam off, It helps the sanity!

Got the package yesterday. I'll start logging it soon guys!

They included a nice product brochure and a power band bracelet. I actually own a bunch of different power bands, I know they don't work but I do like them wear. One of the reasons why is as I've lost weight my gym gloves have gotten bigger and bigger and the velco doesn't strap like it used to. Wearing a power band I can tuck it under the velcro part and it velcro's much better!

Thanks again Dreamweaver and the Finaflex crew. A+! I truly appreciate the care and support you have given each of us!

Just had a crushing workout. Needed it.

6 sets of tricep push downs
6 sets of close grip pulldowns
6 sets of pec flys
6 sets of wide lat pull downs
40 high pulley ab crunches
5 sets of curls
6 sets of bench press
5 sets of dumbbell rows
3 sets of squats
2 sets of Deadlifts
A little bit of slow fat burning zone cardio.

140 minute work out. 1634 calories burnt, 26% fat burn!

About another hour til I can break fast and eat.

I don't have the starter pictures as I was too embarrassed. Cankels and fat calves are going away finally. Took some progress pictures at the gym today. Calves are shaping up well, not a single leg extension was done. Just Squats and Deadlifts EOD.
