I actually wouldn't have minded us loosing. I think Det has come a long way and I love Calvin Johnson. I became a Packers fan only bc of favre when I was young and I still love them but I'm a Falcons fan first since in Alabama we have no pro team, we pull for the Braves, and then Falcons. Detroits defense is wicked.

I'm shopping now with the wife. Got some vids of me doing some sumo deads. So stupid... If you seen my last workout two days ago I sumo deadlifted 205 for ten. Today I decided to pull 185 for max reps. I pulled something like 20 reps lol. I video tapped that.
I'll try get that up and some pics. :)

Nice Dude that's sick. Here is a pic from a power lifting comp. most deada for 295 was like 36. I had 32. I had 33 but they said last rep was after time. Oh well.

That's wjth a trap bar though so vastly easier. Most wjth straight bar I have done is 315x17

I do about 135 now lol :(

you made those sumo lifts look so simple. Nice job on the lifts. Looked like you almost smashed you right foot a couple times. LOL Whats up with the barefoot lifting?

I don't have lifting shoes so my feet are pretty compromised. They just don't have shoes my size in japan. Plus you have to hand gym shoes here. Like a clean pair only for the gym. I too poor lol. So I use an old shoe that I washed and cleaned lol.
Besides lifting bare foot is more natural I feel.
 
Damn son awesome video on those sumos! Your volume is still looking good and hell our ancestors walked bare foot so why not lift like them! haha

Good Job man, not an odd workout at all, good solid total body workout, wish I could make myself do those for about six months but I am old and set in my ways :thumbsup:

Hehe, I do a very odd split. I try to hit everything that is warm and ready when I hit that gym (once a week). I rest friday, and have a target bodypart. This week was squats, last week was deads. And I'll shoot for a PR. Then whatever else I do is just for fun...

The 4 days I workout during the week are pretty planned though. 4 full body type workouts with a one body part focus. Depending on the week it'll be power, strength, speed or hypertrophy. Power = fast but heavy (almost dynamic but more rest), Strength = HEAVY no speed factor getting it up is all I care about, and maybe I'll do some negs. Speed= 30-50% 1RM with 30 rests between triple "burst" sets. Hypertrophy is the standard TUT, 8-12 reps. Then I got my saturation week... which is 60% or so of the 1RM for 30-40 reps... OR I will do triple drop sets. This is the training i used on my last bulk. I love it but I was burning down the house I think... Too much stress during that time.... (wedding planning, meeting with everyone, planning mom's trip, etc... ) We shall see how this one works out. ;)

It was only 185lbs lol. Anyway the reason I like it is because for deads you need to "pull" them off the ground. I have long arms and legs so getting into the standard deadlift is really hard. My legs get in the way. The sumo deadlift also helps because I have a really weak core...

Take care of that finger though man! Perhaps you can use grips to help to. I do most of my pulling raw, Or if I use grips it more as gloves to my hands don't get too beat up from gripping the bar.

Still am, i love using gloves they help with my grip and improve the quality of my hands haha. The cut is healed up but still needs another day or two for the scar tissue to form/be strong enough so when i deadlift or row that it doesn't re-open.

dam man if you think that's bad imagine working literally 20 feet from the gym and watching huge guys come in and out blasting out sets with heavy weights.. Talk about motivating! the last hour of work before i train seriously feels like forever

Supposidly sumo's are easier because you travel less. Bar to lock out.

I find it hard to believe though, because with a stance that wide I lose some power. The conventional DL is done from my "Jumping" position, so it should be the lift where I can get the most power you'd think eh? Could just be a balance deal to though when you get to those HIGH number that the professional powerlifters are using though.

Today my body was feeling really cold and tired... My weekend refeed meals were horrid... grilled meat for two days... first day I had a VERY bad reaction to eating there. I tried to stay as low carb as possible so I ate very little rice... but I guess I just ate too much meat... had the double ended fountain.... followed with some red sauce at the end... not good... Then the next day my mother in law invited us out to the same thing... pretty much the same thing happened... horrid... Today wasnt very strong.
 
You will have them days sometimes bro. Sucks I know, just kill it twice as hard next time!!

I agree. I think a good middle ground would be the best for most reps. But I know my Bro always did sumo to train and had good numbers. But was crap on reg dead lifts. Could be that it trains the legs differently too. Oh well I do body wright deads now hahaha
