I've read about these a few times.

I noticed my grip was hurting when I bought more weight last week.
I went ahead and ordered a pair of the Pros large. Should be here by EOW.
I just replaced my wrist wraps with some gold gyms gloves I got from wally world. I've been using leather straps since my fabric ones broke last summer. So I'm already in a transition mode bc I haven't gotten comfortable with the new gloves as it is. Considering I'll be tossing some more weight on the DLs coming up here I figured it would be money well spent.
I've been needing to justify getting them, but my grip last week and my desire to continue to lift more helped me go ahead and spend the money.
The reviews are all very positive and a lot of really strong dudes swear by them.

Besides, you go up in weight and grow doing DLs, everything else follows...

Congrats on the turn around man. 175-242 HOLY SH1T!!!

67lbs. About 33 a year. Plus that is probably more like 75 or 80lbs of muscle bc the lower BF and more LBM.

Those numbers are freaking remarkable....

Took a long 4min break to re-group but yes was very happy with that def feeling stronger and the inclines r giving that tendon a much needed break, no more one arm deads that was stupid

Incredible work ed!

Be cautious of those behind neck shrugs as well. Those can put a big stretch on that tendon. If it feels good run with it, but be cautious.

well I've made my decision

given the time frame and tendon issue

Rep max would be the best approach to target finishing cycle with, on target to be fully capable of 500...but the risk of injury is high and not worth it right now. 405x8 or 425x5 are the options I'm gonna aim for

One more incline session tomorrow with a 365 rep max 6-8, I think I can get 6 anything more would be awesome

Way to be smart, Ed...you don't want to risk major injury, be on the shelf and have to go BACKWARDS...
thanks,

On my last cycle i had a similar set back through injury but i did realize that i needed to back off and i did so concentrating on BB through huger reps and TUT etc... This worked well and as many of you know, i had some really nice gains as a result, However i strength gains really suffered dramatically as a result to be expected you would say

Well this time around i have to say a huge thank-you to Kabuzki aka Chris Duffin... Hd designed an entire 10 week program for me and when the injury hit he has worked with me almost on daily basis altering that program and enabling me to continue safely making strength gains , Ive learned a lot,

Thanks

You guys count that? That's right, 33 sets. 33 HEAVY sets.....ur a strong mofo.

Good move taking it slow, I agree surgery would suck a fat one. I'm still trying to figure out why incline doesn't hurt your shoulder but flat does. Mine is the opposite when and if my right shoulder hurts......strained in different locations I'm sure...

So spent the weekend in Rincon PR took my son to surf camp it was his big Xmas present :)

All good fun and got the tan going howver Monday i rented him a jet-ski and being only 11years old i took it out first with him on the back and then let him take the controls... We were having a blast until he decides to take a sharp right at 50mph :( Well im 240lbs and he is 90 so rather than drag him off i let go of his waist, well i hit the water at 50mph and of course first contact with the water was my left arm and the first thing that crossed my mind was here we go again.... Well turns out no major damage just a slight strain/tear of the left pec, i hit up chest yesterday to test the water and it really didnt hinder me at all Thank-God

"I had planned on having you hit the light rep work this week with 225 then jumping back to one last incline session next week. So that works perfect with your vacation. I need to see what kind of strength bump you see from a slight deload and this will do it.

So skip the 225 work on and go straight to the Incline Bench on Tuesday

Lets go for either 365x6-8 reps OR
5 rep max at 375-395"
Chris Duffin

15mins stretching

Incline
365 attempt rep max 6-8

135 x 12
225 x 8
275 x 5
315 x 5

365 x 5 :(
I lost focus on the 6th rep i really should have made it, i didnt bring the bar down 100% straight, i let it come down just below nipple and then i was fighting to get it back in line, i very nearly made it but had to let the bar down on the pins

225 for max reps - max break
34,30,23
This was an improvement of +3+,2,-3

Floor presses BB - 2min breaks
Ive never done these before but familiar with the technique so i was just trying to feel myself out to start as no spotter and pins in rack are not low enough to create escape route

"Basically done by lying flat on floor with NO leg drive. Close Grip used and bring elbows down beside body and bar low. Bring down till elbows touch floor (not hit or bounce off of!). Slight pause then press up and flare elbows out. NO leg drive but still make sure you retract your scapula and keep upper back tight.

Play around with this at the end of your workout this week to get the feel for it. Its great for Tricep development and key in building a big raw bench. I believe it shouldn't cause you any strain either but lets find out."
Chris Duffin

185 x 11
205 x 12
215 x 10
225 x 8
235 X 8
245 X 8
255 X no go had to drive up with feet DONE HERE
Yes there was the secret if u reach failure use your feet and cheat to drive up

Had an incredible pump in the tris from these so decided to smoke tris instead of my normal shoulders... Ill have a shoulder/bi day this week

V bar pull downs super-set with hammer inclines
V bar Stack x 11
hammer stack x 10
V bar - 20LB x 15
Hammer -20lb x 9
V bar n/c x 7
Hammer -20lb x 8
V bar -20lb x 20
Hammer -20 x 9
V bar -20lb x 11
Hammer n/c x 9

Almost gagged on my Purple Wrath :)

Incline skull crushers BB
Take a 3min break
Drop-set 30sec intervals
140 x 8
130 x 9
120 x 8
110 x 9
100 x 10

Triceps on fire chest about to split, job well done :)

Ahh, throwing in couple of sets of light TUT cable incline flys
40lb x 19
50 x 14
60 x 12

Ok I'm really done now :)

Golds - San Diego

Just finished awesome back WO 90 minutes non stop had all the good equipment and I got to play with the big boys and there were a few of them but I didn't embarrass myself with the weight :)

Think a few of them were half expecting me to walk up to machines and start stripping plates. Didn't really log anything just had fun, thought at one point I was going to have a heart attack but then remembered my heart isn't on the right side :) so forged ahead, glad I had my Versa Gripps

Now I've gotta hit Golds - Santa Monica the real meca where I will be a weak midget :( I've been before
