Baby Wifey's Bucket of Happiness

When I superset I like to do one upper body movement and one lower body movement. I like to stick with compound lifts all the way around though.

Today's Workout:

6x4
Clean and Press: 85, 95x2, 100, 105x2

Body Weight Dips to Failure: 18, 13, 11

4x4
DB Lunges: 42.5 47.5, 50 x2 lb DBs

5x4
Pull Ups: BW-40x4, BW-30, BW Negatives

3x15
BB Curls: 30 lb
w/ BB Tricep Extensions

I forgot to bring the dipping belt, so I decided to do Dips to failure. Eh, I hoped to get to 20 on my first set, but that is something to aim for next time.

OH MY GOSH 20 dips?!?!?!?!?! i cannot fathom how this is possable, that is either a huge blow to my ego, or its a realization that women can be freaking strong as heck

How can you NOT fathom it (and what would it do to your head to SEE a 110lb female doing that with a 40.7lb between her feet)? It's NOT that hard (and any male should be able to do 20 dips with only his bodyweight)! Females can be [VERY] strong as well (and the regular females on this board lift more than plenty of the males)! Size is NOT everything.

oh i know trust me. the females on this board are very strong. and after hearing about bws dips the nails are in the coffin. I'm saying this because I am comparing her to me. I know not a good comparison considering we are different weights and builds but after my chest workout i can barely get in 15-18 dips if im lucky with my body weight, and my triceps are pretty dominant!

I hear that. However, you can't compare a seasoned lifter to a new lifter (and certainly not between the sexes).

 You can get to 20 dips easy if you work at it. :)

EXACTLY!!!!!!!!! THATS WHY IM SO TRIPPED OUT!

look at my triceps in my avi. its not like my triceps are my weak point or anything. THATS WHY IM SAYING BW MUST BE STRONG!

Thanks. :D

Yup, there is a BIG difference between strength and size - sarcoplasmic hypertrophy training commonly ellicits little to no strength gains beyond newbie gains.

Twenty dips is easy - it's when you start adding weight to that dipping belt that things get interesting! :D

Yes. It's great. Makes for more fun though. And better feeling afterwards. And strength increases if you keep working at it.

Okie, i know im really really late, and just subbed.... bummer.....

But, question for miss BW. Im starting a new log and just bought some reverse. Im hoping it would help me in, my inflammation, and just sense of well bieng. Have you been impresed with the product? Or is it too hard to tell from other supps?
Thanx much. Oh and my jaw almost dropped when i saw that you weigh 160 cause the pics dont show it at all! amazing and Good job!

The Shilajit that Reverse contains should help you with inflammation. While I've been taking Reverse I have rarely had sore joints (my knees primarily give me trouble). I haven't particularly noticed a high sense of well being from taking Reverse, but I've read other reviews where people have noticed it effecting their mood. I have noticed an incredible increase in libido. I usually take X-Force if I need a mood booster.

I have been very pleased with Reverse. I never want to stop taking it! The health benefits of resveratrol paired with the libido boosting effects of Shilajit make me happy. :)

It seems like a lot of people are surprised by my weight. Just shows how compact I hold all of it! Makes me glad that I have a lot of muscle.

You hold it VERY well. - Legs/Glutes/Back seem to have the most muscle and size; exactly how it should be! Plus, you're 5'9"!

...I'm only 5'8". :worried: - ;)

Never bothered me. I wouldn't want to be any shorter, though.

I am fortunate in that my fat is very well distributed. I tend to gain it everywhere rather than one particular place, like some people I've known.

Like 6-7% my job keeps me very active. I dont think i have seen much fat in a while!

Yes true but still very impressive.... I wounder what you weight would be at my bf %. which for a woman would not be healthy....

I don't know. When I started out at 23% I weighed 160 still. I've just managed to recomp this whole time of getting down to 16%. I don't think that I will ever go lower than 12%.

6-7% BF is almost physiologically IMpossible for a FEMALE to get down to, since the ESSENTIAL fat for a female is 8-12% BF (ACSM, 2005). This will vary between individuals, with some able to go down to 8% BF and others only 12% BF. SOME females WILL be able to get down to 7% BF, but anything lower than that they wouldn't be able to (and any female that says she is is lying).

Although maintaining 8-12% BF CAN be unhealthy and cause issues for a female, it IS doable (I'm <12% BF ALL the time).

However, in saying all that, BECAUSE females have higher essential fat levels than males, whilst they may have the SAME SKINFOLD totals, they will ALWAYS read as being 3-5% BF HIGHER than the male. So, technically a male at 6-7% BF is the "equivalent" of a female at 9-12% BF.

And you've done an awesome job!!! At 12% BF you would look leaner than I am (because you are a lot taller than me).

I remember dating a girl that had too high of bodyfat, and she refused to eat healthier and workout because her doctor told her if she lost anymore bodyfat she would be in a dangerous range. I swear I wanted to strangle that doctor.

Sounds like he was telling her what she wants to hear. :(

I went heavy again today, and so far I am enjoying the change. :)

I felt okay during my workout. I pushed myself hard and felt tired afterward, but during my workout I didn't feel as good as I would have liked. Mood's been a little up and down all week and I'm sure that this affected my gym performance.

I feel like I haven't made much progress fat loss wise the last couple weeks. I am making adjustments to my diet to help with speeding the process up- I'm replacing higher glyemic foods with berries and other lower glycemic foods on my high carb days. I'm also measuring my food out more precisely so that I'm sure what I think I'm intaking is actually accurate, if that makes any sense.

I stopped using Eviscerate last week. First of all I felt that I could use the rest of the topical fat burner at another time when my fat loss progress seems more steady. And applying it became somewhat of an inconvenience on the days that I'm busy and out late in the evening.

I know what you mean about the mood. Mine is always up and down. Some days I feel amazing doing my workouts, other days I can't wait to leave the gym even if the workout is going fairly well.

I know what you mean about applying TD products at night when you go out...Blech! Messy and inconvenient...I don't mind this Penetrate I'm using, but topical fat burners I've used are a pain.

I've really been feeling bleh about everything altogether this past week. As the move is coming up and parties are more profuse I just don't want to think about dieting particularly. I want to have fun with my friends before I leave, and I accompany eating yummy cheat food with fun and party.

Yeah, poor babywifey been's taking things kinda hard lately... :worried:

Yeah, right! Hormones would probably be out of wack ALL the time.

You might be surprised. Everyone is different. Having low BF does not mean that your hormones get all out of whack.

True, everyone is different. I've just heard that when women get to a very low BF% hormones are likely to be thrown off. Dropping lower than 12% should obviously be done carefully.

You won't have to go lower than 12% BF to look stunning, lady (being tall; to look as lean as you at 12% BF I would probably have to be closer to ~8% BF!) :)

That's nice to know! :D Well, perhaps one day I will attempt to get that low, but as for now I could care less. I'm content at 15-16% for now.

Since there is great female representation here can I get some advice?

I have a female friend that is looking to recover from her plateau of weight loss. She lifts weights regularly and said she is doing cardio pretty regularly. She is naturally strong and said in highschool (several years ago) she could bench 235, ran track, shot put, etc. She has a stocky/strong build as is and is just hoping to lower the body fat.

Any non stim supplements you can recommend? Today she is just starting to take protein shakes (hasn't been doing that previously) and I know she takes fish oil, multi vitamin and a few other things.

I have heard good things about CLA, but not sure what else to recommend.

You don't need to ask females just because it's a female.

Make sure her DIET is manipulated correctly for it! Diet tips for fat loss: post #4 at Invalid Link Removed (she may not be a beginner to exercise, but she should read the "diet" advice, and make sure she's optimizing her cardio for best effect).

As for supplements, unless she's already relatively lean (<15% BF), then she really doesn't need any.

As for non-stimulants, if she REALLY wants to use them (a few examples):
* DCP
* Lean Xtreme
* Lipotrophin-PM
Look around; there are plenty of non-stimulant fat loss products out there.

CLA would take at least 3 months before you saw anything (and even then, that's debatable).

Rosie really seemed to cover this question. :)
