The MrBigPR Show...IT'S FINALLY HERE!

Now I’m usually not into the whole competition while working out, but this guy was really starting to piss me off. He was doing half ass squats and I told him to “get down”. After all he was trying to show me out so I had to throw that little comment out. Was all I needed to fire me up for the rest of the morning.

i hate that. i get the occasional shadow - you know, the guy that follows you around the gym jumping on any machine you just finished with. absolute tools. sometimes, it does make me jump up in weight that i'm pretty sure they can't handle though, so it works out in my favor sometimes :)
 
You push some serious numbers my man!! I can hang with you on the dlift, i got 505 for a few, but BB curl 155? No sir. 125 is my best on that, and not for more than 3-4!! You tell the truth to your partner, its not about weight. Most people simply dont make it because they get embarrased about that, or if they are smaller, etc, and they end up either quiting, or pushing WAY to much weight to try and compensate.Great log so far MBPR, looking forward to leg day!!:wave2:

Weights are per dumbbell:

Dumbbell Flat bench: 100*12, 115*12, 130*12. Wanted to go higher but didnt know how my endurance would be. Felt nice and strong, perfect form.

Dumbbell Incline: 100*10, 120*10, 140*10. Was beasting these. Sweating like a madman.

Holy ____ !

Yesterday I'm ashamed to say I struggled with the 100's for 8 reps on my last set... but, 130 for 12 on flat and 140 for 10 on incline is incredible !

Now that you have my attention I will be following :D

Thanks BHulk. I feel like im getting stronger everytime i head to the gym. Feeling sort of DOMish, but that's the good part right.

Its all good though. I didnt see that guy today at the gym, he must have hurt himself pretty bad. That was just the type of thing i needed though. Ive got another story shortly.

505 for a FEW? DANG my man! I can barely squeeze out 425 for 4, which is what i want to break in a couple of weeks. Those BB curls are an abolsute killer, but i love the feeling it gives my BI's. My wrist was a little sore today, I think i did too much. EH, ill be alright. I remember when i first started lifting, my partner at the time who was more expierienced had my back against the wall so that i could get my form down. Good ole days.

Im pretty strong on Dumbbells, its what i started out with. I spent a number of years building up my upper body for track and its really paid off. I almost lost control on the last rep, but managed to get it under control. I appreciate you following.

Leg Day. Today was a killer workout. After reading Timber's log, i was determined to absolutely destroy my legs. Here is what ensued.

Leg Press:: 470*12, 610*10, 700*8, 745*6. Didnt want to go that low for reps, but i was feeling these. Full ROM, feet to ears. I count 6 because i did a fake rep which i wont count. My workout partner actually managed to do 470 for 10, which was surprising for his size. After this was squats.

Squats::245*10, 275*10, 315*10, 365*6. I was beat as f*ck from the leg presses. I go ass to knees, legs were wobbly toward the end. Added in a last set because i felt strong, but didnt go as low as in the first 3 sets. I problaby shouldnt even have done the last set, but eh what the heck. Wanted to go higher, but didnt want to push it too much. I had a new crowd today.

So there are these two skinny guys roaming around the gym. The have some sort of wrist straps, bad form. The were grilling me everywhere i went. Kind of annoying. They did exactly like Sun said, shadowed my every move and machine. When i left the leg press i left 400 lbs on. They tried to do it and couldnt. I thought they were gonna get hurt. One comes over and asks me how i was able to lift so much with my legs. I guess he was expecting some miracle answer and ditn like when i said it took years. Goes back to his friend, laughing blah blah. People like that dont deserve to be in the gym. I can see them getting hurt very soon in the near future.

Leg Press calf raises:The gym where im at doesnt have a calf machine, so i did mine on these. Decent weight, high rep. Every other set i switched to holding at the top for longer and concentrating on the negative. 200*20, 225*30, 250*20.

Leg Curl
150*12, 135*10, 140*10, 125*10. COuld barely walk after this.

I had initially planned cardio for after this session (i dont know why) but i just left the gym, had breakfatst and went to sleep.

Checked my weight, and im actually up 4 lbs. Ive been eating a bunch, but i still feel the same. I imagine the weight will taper and actually go down once i get in the swing of things a little bit more. IM still as lean as when i started a couple of days ago.
 
Wow! Nicely Done on those squats! Im diggin em! Looks like a leg day from hell to me bro! I think your came out on top no doubt! Im wondering how the ol legs will feel tomarrow? hahaha And your partner doing 470 on leg press, congrats to him!
 
Legs feel nice. I was flexing them real good when i got back to the room. Felt it when i rolled out of bed!

THose extra sets were made possible by the support from you guys. Had to put on a show for ya.

I know ill pay for it tommorrow. Tommorrow is field day for me. Thinking of doing some explosive sprints while hooked on a Humvee, some tire flips and some other stuff. SHould be fun.

Good to have you bro. It is intense, my wrists were feeling it the next day! I look at it this way, lift big or go home (go home hurt of course). well see if i can eek out some more strength, you know how it gets once you reach the 7th rep.

Hahaha, Yea, but on the incline I am probably getting the 85's up 7 times... not 140! But hey, with some hard work I'll get there someday.

130's i can get into starting position on my own, but the 140's require some partner assistance. For me i found once i got the proper form and drive, the numbers just came. I cant imagine what ill do if i ever do a cycle

Ahh.. the infamous 7th rep always get's me too ! ::irked:

..and I'm with GMG760. I'm only good on incline for 6 reps with the 90's if I'm lucky :lol:

Incline has always been a strong point for me. If i progressed too quick on the bench, i would bust my @$$ to get to the same level on Incline. Using legs for drive and planting my back is a key component for me. The 7th rep is a killer for me on high weights. I just tell my partner to say something to the effect of sleeping with my mother and it usually gets me through.

Oh, so 140x10 on db incline presses isn't even a PR. Jesus Christ, man. LOL. Well, good luck in your quest. I'll definitely be watching. :wave:
 
Anything past 140 is a PR, so ill attempt more in a couple of weeks. Im so winded after 140 on incline, i just want to get into fetal and sleep.
 
i think my knee would buckle moving 150 pound dumbells. it did when i tried walking out on deads with 325. you're genetically very well off my friend.

Seriously. I'm not all too scrawny anymore, but if I tried to kick up anything past 120's I think my arms might rip off at my shoulders. The weight would kick back and just keep going. POP!

Im very genetically gifted in my legs, i thank the lord for that.

Seriously. I'm not all too scrawny anymore, but if I tried to kick up anything past 120's I think my arms might rip off at my shoulders. The weight would kick back and just keep going. POP!

First few times trying i actually had a spotter at my arms because of this. Once im in position its all a mind game. I might have to make a trip out to cali on of these months and go lifting with you guys.

Today was a good day. DOMS were there, not as bad as i would have thought. I can walk, but controlled steps for me. ALmost got hit by a bus today for walking so slow.


ANyways...

Huge Tractor Tire flip: THis was a B*tch to get up the first time. Once i sat under and got some focus it was easy going. Did this from one end of a parking lot to the other. I was beat. Legs were feeling it.

Met up with some Special forces guys who were in from a mission, got some bungee rope and did explosive sprints hooked to a hummer.

Explosive Sprints: Used some bricks in the beginning, placing M-4 rifles every 50 meters or so. Sprint pick up, fall back, start again. Fun times.

After this i did some overhead 4X4 squats. My legs were pissed at me. DOMS wasnt massive so why the hell not. After this i went to bed.

Chest and Tris tommorrow.

I dont do overheads too much. You a big fan of those? Those sprints sound entertaining! To watch, not do of course, lol.
 
The sprints i love. I wasnt totally satisfied so i opted for something i could hold over my head and do. I remember doing these when i didnt have a gym to work out in. I dont do them in a regular gym setting. All in all it was a pretty good day. I was spent. Slept like a baby.
