Shaddow vs. T-Roid & P-Plex

Day 6: Tuesday, April 1
Weight: 193.8 (+5.4)

Workout #2 - B1

DB curls: 2 warm-ups @ 20x18, 30x12
Working set with rest-pauses: 50x8 +5 +6

I found I was able to dig deeper than I thought I'd be able to after that second rest-pause and push out 6 reps. I can definitely attribute that to the anabolics. 50#'s felt pretty heavy though.

Reverse BB curls: 2 warm-ups @ 45x15, 55x12
Working set with rest-pauses: 85x7

No rest-pauses on forearms. I would have to say that after having done the BB work on them yesterday, my forearms were toast after these. Just like on the curls, 85#'s felt heavy.

Sled toe press: 2 warm-ups @ 360x25, 540x15
Working set with rest-pauses: 720x12 +8 +7

I was actually only going to do my working set @ 630, but after hitting those 2 warm-up sets I didn't feel like that would be enough weight, so I kicked it up to 720. My calves can handle that weight just fine, but while under that much weight I could tell that the rest of my legs are gonna need some strengthening up (see Hamstrings curls).

Hamstring curls: 2 warm ups @ 40x18, 50x12
Working set with rest-pauses: 70x10 +5 +4

Yikes. I will be honest. I haven't been keeping up with hamstring work. I know, I know. For those who weren't aware, I ruptured my left hamstring in the fall. My left hammy was definitely my weakness on these, and I'm gonna have to work hard to get it back up to par. I was doing 120# ~8x prior to my accident, so ideally I'd like to be back up around those numbers.

Power squat: 2 warm-ups @ 180x18, 270x12
Working set: 450x12 (WTF?!)
Widowmaker: 360x20

No rest-pauses for quads, instead I am performing one heavy working set, followed by widowmakers for all squat exercises. Last time I did this exercise I went up to 450, but only pushed out like 6 reps or so, then did a widowmaker @ 270. When I first got under 450 today it felt pretty heavy, but I just kept on pushing out reps. I couldn't believe it when I got to 12. I was initially planning to do my widowmaker @ 270#, but after pushing 450 for 12 reps I felt compelled to push more weight and settled for a widowmaker @ 360. By the time I got to 12 I was hurting. By 15 I was light-headed. By 18 I wanted to stop. And if I wasn't sweating before this set, this is what did it. After 20 I walked away from the machine pouring sweat, absolutely drenched.

Notes:

I felt lazy all day. Don't wanna say lethargic, cuz I don't think that's the case, but it's been overcast and raining and dreary, and I just haven't had much energy. Slept 10 hours last night, so I was well rested, I just didn't have much desire to do anything productive.

None the less, today was another good gym session. I was worried going in that I wouldn't be able to do squats cuz of my knee, but it proved to be a non-issue. I'm looking forward to taking the day off tomorrow. I may try to get in for some cardio & core, but I'm feeling pretty beat up, so we'll have to see how I feel tomorrow.

I weighed myself before the gym, and I was 199.0. I still have one more meal tonight and a protein shake before bed, so I won't be surprised if I go to sleep >200 (which would be the first time I ever reach that number). I also wouldn't be surprised if I wake up @ ~195 tomorrow, which would put me a mere 5#'s out from my goal... (I record my weight first thing in the morning, butt ass nekkid, fully purged.) This is pretty scary. 5.4#'s in 6 days. Doesn't look like I'm putting on bf either, in fact it looks as if I'm leaning out a bit too. Top two abs are more visible. Bottom abs are still in hiding, but hey, I've been bulking for 7 months straight. Arms are beginning to show more size and definition, and I noticed increased vascularity at the gym tonight. I still feel thicker and fuller. We'll have to see how the strength gains keep up, but so far this stack is treating me very well.

nice. you do widows with 1.5x my working set! i've got to fine tune my feet position for widows - inside thighs are already chafing, but dammit, i've got room for outside quad mass. i think toes parallel and fairly close together hit the outside quads - does this match your development?

Sorry, let me clarify. These are machine power squats on one of those hammer-type machines where you load weights on the side, NOT regular squats. For comparison, last time I did ATG squats I only got up to 185, with a widowmaker @ 135. FWIW, I keep my feet just wider than shoulder-width, toes pointed outwards roughly 30°. I've got bad knees and a bad back and was told this is the "kindest" way to do it.

My joints were smooth and fluid on PP. I remember cranking out sets of squats so effortlessly.

Yeah, so far so good. I was very impresses with my own strength today on squats and calves. I hope this continues for me on Friday on incline press and overhead presses, which I have been sub-par on lately.

Looking good buddy, cant wait for the pics.

Subbed......FINALLY!! LOL
Sorry for the absence, but life and reality sometimes gets in the way!! |

I've been looking over the log and your early results......amazing!! Not that I'm surprised by that.
The best is yet to come brother. This combo is going to kick some royal ass!!! :buttkick:

Sorry to go off topic Shaddow, but how did your cycle finish up big man? Any chance of getting pics up soon?

Sorry to go off topic Shaddow, but how did your cycle finish up big man? Any chance of getting pics up soon?

Cycle went wonderfully well big Silver. The most productive cycle that I have EVER ran!! I gained 20 solid lbs. during those 6 weeks of Epithio @60mg. and D-Bol @30mg. per day.
Of course, most of you realize that I had just come off of a recomp where I dropped the calories too low and lost too much muscle mass IMO. I had dropped down to 235 lbs.
So when I fixed that situation with lots more protein and healthy fats, the addition of the anabolics sent me into a growth surge that I have NEVER experienced before!! Now I'm weighing in at 255 lbs.!!

I will definitely run that same cycle next January/February for a winter bulker!! I highly recommend it for people wanting to put on quick mass.

Oh, and if I tell you the strength gains that I experienced and the weights I'm pushing now even post-PCT, I doubt it if anyone would believe me!!!

Pics will come soon. Not sure when. I'm not planning on running any logs anytime soon.
And I won't post pics in someone else's threads (anymore, that is!! LOL)

Sorry for the hi-jack shaddow. :sorry:

I've seen dudes use that towel method before. I've never tried it, but it looks cool.

If you haven't already read it in my log, some old school, competitive power lifter guy showed me a fun new way to develop your grip during shrugs. Wrap the bar with the neck pad and you have an uber fat-grip effect. It's murder on the forearms.

There he is!! I'm honored to have you, brother!! And no apologies, I know how things can be. Everythng's going well so far and my gains are already coming along nicely. I'm gonna break 200 soon, dammit!! Maybe even sooner than expected!

Man, that sounds like one hell of a good time!! Feel free to post pics in here if you'd like, it doesn't bother me one bit.

And you guys don't have to worry about hijacking or going OT. I welcome all discussion. :welcome:

Everybody is surpassing me in weight these days. I'm down to 186-187lbs.

Yeah, but you're cutting. I may be ~195, but I still have a cut coming in a few months, and still a loooooooong ways to go to catch up to your numbers strength-wise.

Dc in action son! this is going to be sweet!

Up 5.4lbs in 6 days! That's killer, bro!

I am up 6.4lbs in 8 days, as of this morning. I am definitely feeling a lot thicker and fuller, and this is not placebo. Pec size and shape is improved, and my back is definitely wider. My girlfriend has been telling I am already way bigger, and I wore one of my favorite shirts last night and I may have to retire it soon cuz it's getting tight!!

But anyways. More on all that with tonight's workout update. :D

You can bring back the Rebel look of '95. Tight @$$, I can see your heart beat shirts, waxed eye brows, large Harley Davidson buckle and boots.

You can bring House music back in full effect while your at it.

i sure am happy i've been buying double x shirts since i was 14....

it'll be a long time, if ever, that they wont fit

I would consider it if that look wasn't so easily confused with Invalid Link Removed.

House music, on the other hand, already has a very large following in DC.

So I was just looking at my routine for tonight, and I have to do deadlifts. Then something crazy popped into my head... After my heavy set of deads... Widowmaker deads!! Do the weight that I usually hit 12 reps with, but instead push out 20. Rest as long as I want at the bottom, but my hands never come off the bb. Is that too crazy?? Should I even attempt that with my lumbar history?

TG, do you have an opinion on that?

I just might be crazy enough to give it a shot tonight...

I'm feeling goooooood! :D

:dl:

my opinion is back issues are a serious thing man.

mess soemthin up tonight you could be laying on your belly for a month.

so do it "smartly"

Bad pain = Bad...avoid bad pain.

Good pain = Good.

It's that simple. If you feel that you're in any way risking injury, then forget it.

Day 8: Friday, April 3
Weight: 194.8 (+6.4)

Workout #3 - A2

Incline bench press: 2 warm-ups @ 115x18, 135x12
Working set with rest-pauses: 185x7 +4 +3 (& a 4th rep assisted)

I had neglected bb work for so long, instead choosing to focus on db's, so the incline bb bench is one of my worst exercises. I've got a loooooong way to go on these. I'd like to be pushing at least 225 in the coming months. Let's see how I progress with DC training. I asked someone to spot me for my last rest-pause just cuz I was unsure of myself, but still managed 3 reps on my own and a 4th assisted rep.

BB overhead press: 2 warm-ups @ 65x18, 85x12
Working set with rest-pauses: 125x6 + 115x6 +5

Why did I choose BB overhead presses on the same day as (and right after) my worst exercise? Geeez. This was tough. I need to strengthen up my core a bit. I believe I was putting up ~145-155 back in the fall, so hopefully I can get back near those numbers. There was no way I was getting 125 up again on those rest-pauses, so I dropped it back down to 115 for those last two. Ouch.

Close-grip smith bench: 2 warm-ups @ 135x18, 185x9
Working set with rest-pauses: 205x7 +4 +3

These hurt. After the incline presses and overhead presses PLUS my extreme stretching, my shoulders were hurting pretty bad on this exercise. I feel like I should be putting up well over 225 on this, but 205 was all I had in me.

Close-grip pulldowns: 2 warm ups @ 90x18, 110x12
Working set with rest-pauses: 160x9 +4 +3

I was LOUD on these, but I really didn't give a ****. I felt good on that first set, and actually had an extra half-rep on top of each of those numbers, but couldn't get the weight all the way down. These felt good though.

Deadlifts: 2 warm-ups @ 135x15, 185x10
Working set: 275x6

Remember how I was talking about widowmaker deads? Yeah, fuuuuuuuuuuck that. I was absolutely spent by this point. 275 was pretty heavy for me and my form got a little ugly on that last rep, but I got it up regardless. Oh yeah, I wore straps @ 275. No gloves for any of these today. In fact, no gloves for any exercise except my last set of close-grip smith bench, and only cuz my palms were so sweaty and I was sliding on the bar.

Notes:

6.4 lbs in 8 days. That is so money. Last night I stepped on the scale, and for the first time in my life I saw the numbers 200.0. That is a magical number for me, and I felt very proud. My goal though, is to hit 200 first thing in the morning (as that is the weight I go by), but I can pretty much say I walk around at 200lbs. That is so money. :D

Hell, the way things are going, maybe I'll shoot for 205 or 210 on this run. ;) :D

I feel really good. Libido is still high. The gf is liking that. :D The gf is also telling me I am looking huge these days, and I am honestly seeing it as well. This is no placebo. Yesterday when I saw my father he told me "You need to stop getting so big." I take that as a compliment. :D

In other news, even after putting on over 6 pounds in ~1 week, I am leaning out tremendously. I can now see the upper outline of my bottom abs. Let me reiterate something here. I am on a bulk, and have been on a bulk for roughly 7 months. Mind you, I still have a tire around the bottom of my midsection, but you can still make out my abs. 8 days ago I could not see my lower abs at all, and my upper abs were barely visible. Today my upper 4 are clearly visible, and the lower two are beginning to show face. This is ridiculous, and beyond my wildest dreams. I have decided to up the carbs, and will also enjoy a couple of high carb cheat meals this weekend just because I feel like I can do it and not suffer any ill effects.

So far, so good!! Things are definitely coming along beautifully, and actually better than I expected this early in. Time to go eat. :food:

Nices deads, too bad you couldn't get those widowmakers in, next time :)

Hel to the Fukkin-Yeah-Yeah!!! :head:

Shaddow-Warrior is kicking ass and taking names already on this cycle!!

You're exploding with growth dude. 7 lbs. in the first week is so cool. And the T-Roid is helping to keep it all lean too. P-Plex is my favorite bulking roid right behind D-Bol. It runs a very close 2nd.

Don't stop the insane progress now shaddow. Train like your very life depends on it. Use visualization techniques like pretending someone is holding a gun on you or your loved ones and they'll shoot if you don't complete that last rep. :AR15firing:

Also use some pre-workout self-hynosis telling yourself that you can do anything and that you have superhuman strength. :dl:

Go get em' warrior!!! :swordfight:

I am fuggin pumped to hear that you have hit your goal. Now it is time to destroy it big guy (I can call you than now since you are in the 2 bills club). I had a similar leaning out on that combo so I can only imagine you you are going to end up. You da man!!!!

Nice pics Shaddow

Day 10: Sunday, April 5
Weight: 198.2 (+9.8)

Workout #4 - B2

BB curls: 2 warm-ups @ 45x18, 75x12
Working set with rest-pauses: 95x8 +4 +5

These felt good. Got a wicked pump on them. I cheated a little on the last rep to get it up. (Shhhhh...)

Hammer curls: 2 warm-ups @ 25x15, 35x12
Working set with rest-pauses: 50x9 +5 +5

Hammers after bb curls was sweeeeeet. :D Man, my arms were feeling swole on these. Pumps were ridiculous in my biceps and forearms. Good stuff!

Seated calve raises: 2 warm-ups @ 90x18, 140x12
Working set with rest-pauses: 210x9 +6 +5

I've never really been a fan of these, they just feel weird to me. My calves felt like they were gonna tear when I stood up! LOL!

Seated Leg Curls: 2 warm ups @ 70x18, 90x12
Working set with rest-pauses: 150x12 +8 +6

I felt a lot better on these than I did last time with the lying curls. Just felt less strain in my hamstring and it was a lot easier to move the weight on this exercise. I really wasn't expecting to pump out that many reps. Good stuff.

ATG Squats: 2 warm-ups @ 135x15, 185x12
Working set: 225x7
Widowmaker: 185x14 (FAIL)

I've been feeling strong, so I decided before I even started that I was gonna try and move a bit more weight than I have been lately. I know this doesn't sound like much, but the last time I did this exercise I pushed 95x18, 135x12, my working set @ 185x7 and a widowmaker @ 135x20. In other words my working set went up 40 lbs to 225x7 (which is the most I've done since I ruptured my hamstring), and I pushed an extra 50# (for 14 reps) on my failed widowmaker attempt. Get this, it was 7:58 and my gym closes @ 8. I was in the middle of my widowmaker set and this ******* trainer at the gym turns the lights off cuz he's closing up. ****ing ****. I almost kicked the **** out of him. I was on like 8 when he cut off the lights, and I ended up pushing out 14. That **** pissed me off so bad. I honestly think I could've done a few more. Don't think I would've gotten to 20, but I wanted to try. The whole squatting in the dark thing was a bit weird though. ****in' dickhead. :cussing:

Notes:

Ok, seriously?!?? +9.8 pounds at the start of day 10?! I can't believe how good this stack is treating me!! Ho-ly shiiiiiiit! I am packing on mass at an absolutely astounding rate right now, and I'm kinda blown away by the whole thing, really. My PH/S experience lies solely in old-school stuff like 4AD, 1Test, M1T, M5aa, mdht... I'm only 10 days in, but so far this cycle blows all of my other experiences away. By a long shot. This stack is so money.

The gf took some pics of me earlier, guys. I know you all keep asking and I keep holding off. I'll put them up tomorrow. Also, I might have a few pics from Day 1 that I'm not really sure if they came out or not. I'll have to look over everything tomorrow.

I've been very good with my sleep so far on this run even though I actually got my worst night's sleep of this entire cycle last night, which was 6 hours. The night before I slept ~7. Night before that was 10.5. I'd say I'm averaging ~9 hours of sleep per night, which is roughly 50% more than I would generally get.

Tomorrow is an off day, but I'm gonna get into the gym at some point for some cardio and core work.

I'm feeling reeeeeaaaally good. Thanks for all the support, guys. :D

Thats better than the .7589 lbs/day you get from TO!

P-Plex is a master bulker hormone. It worked way better than any other oral I've used...haven't used in a long time though. If my schedule allows for it, as in I have a job this summer that allows me to eat often enough, I'll probably do a PP/M1D/MMV2/Epithio cycle; MMV2 being pulsed, and Epi low dosed for e-control.
