Rodja's One Stop Journey (sponsored)

I would much rather live in cold weather than here. I laugh when it's about 50 degrees outside (~10 degrees C for you metric, folk) and I see people bundled up in gloves and thick jackets. I am usually walking around in shorts, t-shirt, and flip-flops year-round.

You say that now, but when it is -50 degrees [-58F], you pray for death if you get stuck outside. I am a fan of moderate temperatures: 25 degrees [77-80F] all year long.

In Alberta, my home province, it is usually 35 [95F] in the summer, and can literally get to -50 with the windchill. It is horrid. Luckily the Niagara Peninsula is more moderate.

I love montreal's subway system :) Of course, its the only way humans could get around there in the winter :D

Hopefully that was not sarcasm, as I actually do love Montreal's sub-system! That city as a whole is beautiful; it is where I proposed to my fiancee, actually!

No, no sarcasm at all, montreal is a great place. I need to go back, been a while. Ever eat at Le Queue De Cheaval? bring a wad of cash, its pricey as hell, but i have yet to have a better steak anywhere, or better service.

The subway is cool, and different than most other subway systems with the little micromall of stores at the varying junction points, and the fact that entrances/exits from the system go into buildings above directly, like apartment complexes or businesses. And it feel safe, unlike many subway systems.

No, never. Which street is it on?

It really is. I found it to be efficient and, like you said, clean and safe.

its right across from the hockey arena

if you go, plan on $200+ for 2 :)

That is way out of my price range. I think the most I have ever spent on a dinner for 2 is ~$60. I would much rather buy the food and cook it for 1/5th of the price.

Its nice for special occasions to do that sort of thing, anniversary, etc. I sure don't eat like that very often :D a couple times a year tops, anniversary, celebrating a promotion, that sort of thing. I think one time I spent $300 at Mise En Place between dinner and drinks for 2, i've actually broken $100 for 2 for lunch as well.

No wonder i'm fat.

I guess making more than $15k a year helps, too. I'll finish school at some point...

:D yeah, how expensive something sounds is all relative. Talked to a friend who mentioned "i bought an RV over the weekend, it was only $26,000, worth close to 40k" and I thought crap, if I had 26k in cash an RV sure as hell wouldnt be what i'd spend it on.

Yeah, that's funny, LOL. It can get a little colder than that here in NZ (and will now that I am in the South Island), but generally not enough to be THAT bundled up.

Lethargy has hit pretty hard the past few days. It has been difficult to wake up this week, but it doesn't linger once I finally pry my ass out of bed.

hmm you know, I hadn't really put that one together with The ONE, but i've been having that lately. Of course i also have an 11 month old who wakes up in the nite most of the time, and I get up myself to pee 3-4x so its not like i get great sleep no matter what :D

3/26-Back
Wide Pulldowns-2x220x10, 230x8 (PR)
BB Rows-225x10 (had to stop, lumbar couldn't bear the weight)
HS Neutral Rows-3x180x10
V-Handle Pulls-2x180x10
Underhand Pulls-2x180x10

This was a very odd session. I didn't do the routine I had planned in my head, but I had a solid pump. The biggest surprise was when I awoke the next day and my lats were sore in a different area than usually. I guess it goes to show you that even the basics need to be scrapped every now and then.

3/20-Delts/Triceps/Traps
HS Shoulder Press-110x10, 120x10, 125x8 (PR)
CG BP-275x8, 285x6 (PR)
Wide Upright Rows-135x12, 2x145x12
Lying Extensions/DB Shrugs-95x10, 2x100x8 (PR)/3x110x12
Pressdowns/Seated Laterals-3x170x12/3x35x12
Facepulls/Leaning Overhead Rope Ex-3x150x15/3x100x12

Whole lot of strength in this session, which is obvious by the PR's set. Outstanding pump, especially in my delts (which started during my warm-ups), that lasted for hours. Lumbar was feeling slightly better today, but still not well enough to do cardio.

I am 4 weeks into this cycle and about to hit the home stretch; here are the latest observations:

1. Lethargy...lots of it. I get up, eat breakfast, and fall back asleep for another 2-3 hours.
2. Increasing strength gains; almost every main lift has really taken off.
3. Muscle hardness/dryness has remained consistent.
4. Cardio has been hampered due to strained lower back and excessive pumps.
5. Aggression has continued to increase with dosage (peaks at about 2-3 hours post dosing). I would love to take this prior to a fight.
6. Still no crashes...thank God.
7. Weight has fluctuated from 191-197 depending on carb intake. This baby can load a ton of glycogen.

great update Rodja!

Loving the updates, Ryan (and the PRs) :D

3/31-Chest/Biceps

Dips-BW+90x8, BW+100x6, BW+115x5 (PR...by a lot)
Incline Flys/Seated DB Curls-3x55x12/3x55x8
BB Curls-105x8, 110x6
HS Incline Press-100x10, 110x8
HS Decline Press/HS Preachers-3x125x10/100x15, 110x12, 125x10
Crossovers/High Cable Curls-2x60x15/40x15

DC Stretches

Huge, huge pump; by far the best of the cycle. I actually expected to have a mediocre session because I did not eat enough and was drag ass tired. The fullness from this session lasted a good 5 hours in both my chest and biceps (which is very rare). I actually saw some striations during crossover, another first for me.

4/1-Thighs

Front Squats-205x5, 215x5, 225x3 (PR*)
Walking DB Lunges-3x60x14
Unilateral LP-350x8, 370x8, 390x8
Seated Uni Leg Curls-50x15, 60x12, 70x10

DC Stretches

My legs are so full that my knees can barely bend. Hit a PR (sorta) on front squats; I have done more in the past, but that was a good 3.5 years ago and I was squating 2x/wk WS style.

I managed to make it to judo yesterday (FYI, I have a very, very limited judo game). Practiced a few techniques with and without a gi, but I was training with 2 BBs, so I got my ass handed to me in randori.

4/2-Back

BB Rows-315x12, 335x10, 345x8
Wide Pulls-220x10, 2x240x8 (PR)
HS Reverse-Grip Low Rows-120x10, 130x12, 140x12
HS Neutral Rows-2x190x10
Hypers-3xBWx15

DC Stretches

All I can say is wow form this session. I have never felt so physically strong during a back session and this is always the session that is either lackluster or outstanding - there's never a mid-ground for me. Huge pump in my lats, erectors, and forearms that lasted hours, which actually started to become uncomfortable after awhile. I am still having an issue with lower back stiffness, but it is slowly subsiding. I have 4 more days worth of dosing and I will write my final review sometime during the middle of next week.

4/3-Delts/Triceps

Overhead Press-185x8, 195x5 (PR)
CG BP-275x8, 285x5
Wide Upright Rows-135x12, 155x12, 165x12 (PR)
Seated Laterals/Overhead DB Ex-2x35x12, 40x10/85x12, 90x12, 95x10 (PR)
Pressdowns/Facepulls-160x12, 2x175x12/160x15, 2x175x15
Leaning Overhead Rope Ex-2x100x10

DC Stretches

It took me a moment I really get into this session because my timing was thrown off. I was hungry when I started, but I didn't have time to eat and wait around for a few hours. My lower back was tender, so I was a little hesitant to try to do the OP, but I am really glad that I did. The most that I have ever done on them previously was 190x3 and that was one time during the summer. I honestly could have done more had my right shoulder and erectors been in top condition, but I did set a new PR, so I won't bitch too much. As usual, great pump, aggression, and M-M connection.

I will write my overall review, along with updated pictures, later this week.

Starting Stats:
5'10"
188 lbs (~167.3 lbs LBM, 20.7 lbs BF)
~11% BF (via 7-point calipers)

Goals:
195 lbs (~177.5 lbs LBM, 17.5 lbs BF)
9% BF

Main Lifts for Assessment:
Current
Dips-BW+90x8
Front Squats-205x3
Lat Pulls-205x6
BB Rows-295x12
Close-Grip-245x8
Overhead Press-165x10

Goals
Dips-BW+115x8
Front Squats-225x5
Lat Pulls-225x8
BB Rows-335x12
Close-Grip-275x8
Overhead Press-185x10

Without further adieu, my final review (bad rhyme, I know). Starting stats and goals quoted for ease of comparisons

Quantitative

Weight: 193 (+5) - 175.6 lbs FFM (+8.3 lbs), 17.4 lbs FM (-3.4 lbs FM)
BF:~9% (-2%)

Max Lifts:
Dips-BW+115x5 (+25 lbs)
Front Squats-225x2 (+20 lbs)
Lat Pulls-240x8 (+35 lbs)
BB Rows-345x8 (+30 lbs)
Close-Grip-285x5 (+40 lbs)
Overhead Press-195x5 (+30 lbs)

I really feel that most of these (sans back lifts) would have been much higher if I didn't have a nagging right shoulder and erector issues. In fact, my lower back kept me from pushing for most of the cycle (sorry, AN).

Qualitative

Libido

Absolutely off the charts for me; had I been single during this cycle, I might have completely lost my mind. My sexual appetite was almost insatiable.

Aggression/Mood
I expected this to give me quite the spike here since the chemical was so closely related to DHT and it did not disappoint. I felt like the compound really spiked at about 2-3 hours after dosing and gradually tapered off. I was always in a great mood with additional confidence and the so-called "alpha male" feeling.

Training Impact
This I will divide into 2 sections: weights and cardio.
Weights: Pumps, contractions, endurance, and intensity were all highly elevated. I think that they may have been slightly too elevated because I was gassed by the end of lifting and seldom had the energy left for cardio.

Cardio: One of the few negatives of this cycle, but it was not because of diminished V02 or elevated BP. Rather, it was because of the pumps I got in my quads within 5 minutes or so of running and my lower back/shoulder weren't healthy enough for kickboxing.

Miscellanous
Sleep: Hit or miss, but alleviated as cycle continued
Appetite: Increased at the beginning, but subsided towards the end...thank God.
Shutdown: Very little feelings of shutdown and minimal testicular atrophy.
Hairloss/Prostate: minor prostatitis, but no hairloss issues.

Feel free to ask any other questions/issues I may not have addressed sufficiently.

Impressive recomp, Ryan. You achieved all but three of your goals; and were not far off your [overall] Weight, Dips and Front Squats goals  Thank you for such a detailed review. Would you run The ONE again?

I would run it again, but I would probably use it in a slightly different fashion. Instead of using 3 caps, I would probably either use 2 or run it as a pulse. The reason is that I prefer to run 2-3x/week, but was unable to do so while running this.

I can understand that. A few other loggers are mentioning pulses for future cycles as well. Would be interesting to see how results from both methods compare in the same individual.

I am generally not a big fan of pulsing, but I can see the application in this instance. I would actually lean towards running 2 caps pre-WO or before bed ED. The pump in my quads was just too much (especially in the medialis) while I was running and it really hindered my performance.

Awesome review man!. You did not disappoint with your final review. Also, pulsing the ONE...works very well. I started with 4 caps, but just bumped to 6 M-W-F with Sat and Sun off. Something to note for future reference I have noticed...dosing the ONE with NeoVar at the same time will make your appetite shoot through the roof and you will literally be like a bottomless pit, but at the same time...you will feel some great pumps and endurance going forward (especially if you take both pre-workout).

Cheers bud!
