Day 32 - the end of an era
Today marks the last lifting day of this log. It's been great - I've gained some new friends, become better acquainted other friends, gained a lot of strength and even a couple of pounds. I've had more fun and seen better progress running this log than with any of my previous ventures, due partly to my growing experience with reporting in a log, and greatly to the superiority of the products I was using. You can expect a final review of T-911, BC+EAA, Lipotropic Protein, and a mini-review of I-GH-1 tomorrow or Sunday, which I will post both in this log and in it's own thread in the LG subforum. It will include my follow-up pics - just a forewarning; I'm bigger, but not leaner by any means. At least not that I can tell.
T-911: Only one little, lonely, broken tab sits in the bottle now. I almost don't want to take it tomorrow, just because it means that I'm actually out. I haven't been so sad over finishing a supp since using Intra-Aid (which I actually base my homebrew intra-workout concoctions off of now, cuz it was so good), but T-911 will be missed more greatly, simply because of it's astounding efficacy.
BC+EAA: I used the last two servings this morning, intra-workout. My big gorilla hands don't fit inside the small tubs, so I actually had to have BW reach in and scoop them out for me.
I had Purple Wraath with the evening workout, and the boldness of PW's Grape Flavor took me aback greatly - I've grown quite accustomed to BC+EAAs mildness, and actually now prefer it to PW's grape, provided I have added the VitC and Carbs that I always throw in.
I-GH-1: This is a sleep aid that definitely holds it's own amongst it's peers. Simple, effective - not a sedative, so it doesn't really help you get to sleep, but once you are, it's a deep, restorative slumber.
AM Workout: Supersets
Front Squats: 275 - 5x5
Rear Delt Raises: 50lb DBs - 5x7
Cleans: 205 - 5x5
Flat Bench: 305 - 5x5
DB Lunges: 45lb DBs - 4x7 with 4sec ecc
Cable Gironda Curls: 140, 150, 160, 160 - 4x7 with 3sec ecc
I was quite pleased with my front squats - I find them easier to take ATG, presumably due to the lighter weight than back squats, but still my quads, upper arms, anterior delts, and calves burned like fire. I also really noticed how much they work the abs today too. Rear delts paired nicely with them - a non-taxing movement that got me well loosened up and ready for cleans in the second superset.
205 for 5reps is by far the most I've ever done for cleans and this volume. They were tough, but not my max honestly - I look forward to some improvement in these. They did, however, leave me somewhat drained for bench press, I did not move the 315 that I was hoping for.
By the time lunges rolled around, my legs were pretty done too from the cleans and front squats, so I opted to go a bit ligheter and accentuate the negative like crazy. It worked well.
PM Workout: Supersets
All Supersets 4x12
2/1 Leg Press: 330 w/4sec ecc
Cable Press: 90lb per arm
DB Row: 85 (every bigger DB taken! :aargh: ) w/3sec ecc
Preacher Hammer Curl: 50lb DB
NG Decline Bench: 205
Rotary Calf Raises: 330 w/5sec ecc
A 2/1 leg press is where you press the weight up with both feet, remove one from the platform and lower the weight using only one leg. It is a movement from the bowels of Mordor. My legs are jelly and I only used 330!
It was quite frustrating that the DBs above 85 were being used - I was hoping for the 95s, but someone was doing incline "presses" where the DBs never even cam close to his chest. So, I used a lighter weight with a longer negative instead - it works. And supersetted with DB Preacher Hammer Curls, it was good stuff.
Between that superset and the Dec Bench, my arms felt blown up by the night's end. On a different note I'm stoked as heck because I actually have calves now! They're not huge, but they are actually visually discernable - something my freakishly long legs were not very willing to develop!
