Prime in Zambia

Back in Zambia – everything’s going nuts work-wise – will keep this short and sweet:

•Maybe 2hrs sleep from Zambia back to Perth over a 26hr period, including a 6hr wait in Jo’Berg.

•Generally crappy meals – had some beef jerky to snack on. Drank red wine to promote sleep, but left me with a headache.

•Arrived in Perth 9am local time, but 3am Zambian time. Managed to sleep 4 hours, then looked after sick kids for the night. Broken sleep, but woke up feeling slightly better.

•Bottom line = physically and mentally fatigued back by poor nutrition.

•Ran out of ReCreate, so opened the War Chest. Decided to continue forskolin supplementation – so dipped into some Drive samples kindly donated by the good folk at AN.

•Proposed Supplementation (Australia only) is as follows:

•Wake: 3x Drive 4x RPM, 2x Prime 10g BCAA + Poseidon
•WO + cardio 10g BCAA + Swell (1hr)
•postWO 1x Pslin (50-100-20 – whole food shake)

•Lunch 2x Prime

•Evening Cardio (45min) 3x Drive 10g BCAA + Poseidon

•Evening Meal 1 x Pslin (60-120-30) 2x Prime

•Before Bed (whey + milk) + 1x Bolic

•Will run Drive until depleted, then swap to Bolic. Heavy use of P-Slin to reload muscles for some heavy-duty, intense lifting sessions.

•First weight session coming up: Chest/Back supersets.

Stay tuned for the breakdown, plus 3 other sessions that highlight some very interesting results:

Thursday 2/10/08: Chest/Back

Recovery from travel approx. 70%.

Workout time 0900 (fasted).

Washed down the Prime/Drive/RPM combo with some Swell/Poseidon 1hr preWO. Kicked in about 45 minutes – have tried both Drive and RPM separately but not together – got the system charging.

WO details at the base of the page:

Not too bad, not too bad I thought considering my state - and 20 days between sessions.

Trainer considered best to drop the weight slightly and go for more reps. Note where '8' or '10' reps are not achieved, indicates assistance.

Had awesome aggression kicking in for the flys/rev flys - and actually upped the weight. Did some sets of leg raise crunches after, and approx. 30 minutes on the ellipitcal to finish off.

Dropping in the p-slin with one of my unpatented famous shakes:

4 whole eggs
1/2 scoop whey
1/2 cup ground oats
1 banana
1/2 cup blueberries
500ml skim milk
1 tsp spirulina

Feeling pumped and euphoric - headed home and got hungry again an hour later - dropped a 6-pack of tuna sushi then slept for 4 hours.

Managed a 45 minute spin class that evening - maybe should have given it a miss as pretty fatigued.

Dropped another p-slin before dinner - lasted maybe another hour before crashing out at 1900 for 12 hours of slumper.

Stay tuned for Leg/Shoulder day - all hell breaks loose in the gym!

Nice update, Sir! Keep it up! :)

i just thought he was pi$$ weak:whip:

this boy grew up in the same town as me so he ain't weak, figgin good tucker in taranaki brutha!

i'm used to seeing lb's in the logs and when i first looked at the numbers, i was like wtf! then i remembered his weights are in the true form and not over inflatted like the imperial system

niiiice!! I expect that youll actually make ALOT of progress this weak given your current supplementation... is it only 1 week your going to be back?

I love Drive and RPM together(had pslin in the mix then too!), made awesome progress with them both of them run solo and also on pct's... should be INSANE stacked with Prime.

i've been stacking prime with drive and it seems to be ok with me as i only had one bottle of prime (which jakepel sent me from australia) and one bottle of drive.

prime stacked with drive is a solid combo

Friday 3/10/08: Leg/Shoulder

Today’s session was actually training with my trainer as a partner, a 130kg/10%BF monster.

Felt 100% mentally recovered. Felt damn good in fact. Slight tightness across chest and back – that ‘worked’ feeling, but in good shape all things considered.

Had some symptoms happening before I even stepped foot in the gym: Positive aggression, euphoria, charged energy

….and the numbers speak for themselves.

I am trying to compare ‘apples with apples’, however I must highlight these sets are again higher reps (10 compared to 8), and there is greater rest between sets (5 minutes compared to 2 minutes)

Note that leg/shoulder exercises are paired as supersets.

Performance from the get go – destroyed the squats – trainer was surprised. I was surprised – and pumped out the shoulder presses too.

It was the leg press that blew me out of the water. After watching my trainer curling 100kg the tag line was ‘while I’m going heavy you might as well too’

…3rd set = Personal Best at 360kg for 8 reps unassisted – 19 days since the previous leg workout on a less than perfect diet and the remnants of jet lag….

…and the rest of my numbers weren’t too shabby either. My trainer reckons I have lost no size at all - which is a welcome relief.

There was no cardio that day – after that WO my entire body felt destroyed but pumped up and the euphoria felt borderline illegal. Needed a nanna-nap that arvo. Slept like the dead that night - 10 hours.

My appetite is also through the roof – I think the ReCreate was keeping a cap on the hunger – fully unleased now.

Huge workout even without considering your situation! And I love the spreadsheet.

Thanks Sok - you know I should have had a calc demonstrating total weight moved - that would have been a good indicator.

Goodness me -could Prime actually be living up to the hype?

Great idea. I've seen logs showing total work output, and it helps to visualize when changing reps/weight schemes.

Do you squat every leg workout? I've started squatting recently, and would like to continue but the stress they put on my entire leg is amazing. I mean, last week I literally could barely walk the next day due to IOMS (immediately sore, lol) and lasted the greater part of the week. Same thing the previous week, but I can already see an outer sweep improvement with the bare eye. The main problem is, if I squat, I can't deadlift that week either out of respect for my back...

Regarding Prime, both of us have historically been responders to herbal supplements, and specifically USPlabs extracts. I'm betting that Prime is helpin' you out here, and I hope your response continues to become more pronounced as you continue your run!

Sok - if I'm doing squats Im not doing deadlifts - as you said it's a back issue. And I've noticed significant gains in thigh circumference since starting them back 8 weeks ago - they're a true mass gainer for me.

I don't use a belt either - just strict form down to parallel at pace. The big CNS shock is squating then immediately supersetting with bb military presses - your whole body goes into meltdown.

I started without a belt, but found the pressure on my back to be too much. A trainer saw me doing squats without a belt and reprimanded me, let me borrow his, and I felt a big improvement in lower back pressure.

I really like the superset idea as well, great idea.

Saturday 4-10-08

No training and sore as hell - everywhere, but muscles feeling tight and full. Went for a walk along the

Ate like a maniac - swordfish for lunch, steak for dinner.

Kept the P-Slin to twice a day to manage carbs.

Drank a bottle of red wine. Pinot Noir. Thanks to my bro! :clap2:

Monday 6/10/08: Chest/Back (again.. and why not?)

Did a little beach cardio on Sunday to loosen up the legs – they were still pretty much wrecked from Friday.

Continued to eat on demand – moderately clean, heavy on protein and regulating carbs using P-Slin.

Monday morning chest and back were recovered enough from 4 days earlier to hit it again.

The results are posted at the bottom. Have added in a column called work (reps x weights) in lieu of using a calorie calculator.

Not quite there in the bench, but all else either on par or over. The important thing to note is the amount of work within the same period of time i.e.30 minutes.

Let me reiterate over the last 3 weeks:

1.Nutrition and eating patterns sub-optimal (some days v. ordinary).
2.Fatigue through climate, work and travel.
3.Prior to RnR, exercises restricted to bodyweight and some half-arsed cardio.
4.Have lost 2kg with no apparent loss of lean mass and strength as reported when finally got access to the gym.

These results are my Prime experience to date - using realworld data to demonstrate performance over description.

Under the right conditions I believe some spectacular results could be achieved– something to look forward to when those conditions eventually present themselves.

Stay tuned for more Adventures in Zambia!

Well I wish I could give you a hard time for keepin' all of us, (devoted "log-inmates"), waiting but I can't

GREAT REVIEW JKP, you've done it again :clap2::clap2::clap2:
And yes, the spreadsheet is a great idea, now I have to think of something better for my log, damn!! Invalid Link Removed

Are you attributing this to Prime or to RPM/Drive, or the whole stack ?

Congratulations! Hope it gets even better from now on ! :head:

More grease to your elbows, N! :D

Wtf???

What's this I see - have those DownUnder Adventurers in Zambia managed to secure themselves some weight lifting gear???

....and is that JKP testing out dumbells on new bench?

...and what is that bottle of Prime doing next to what appears to be an oversized claw?

Something's going on!

That looks like quite the adventure, how did you end up in Zambia in the first place?

I'm part of a team of mining professionals brought in to help commission a new mine and smooth out some operational issues.

I'll be posting some action photos of the miners some time soon for those interested.

I was wondering where you found a gym out there, lol!

looks like you've managed to score enough weight to keep you honest, weights in zambia, of all places, lol

i keep getting that mentail picture in my head of the movie "The Gods Must Be Crazy" when i think of african contries like zambia, kenya etc

Right on. Now for some real training
How's the elusive ostrich hunt?

I've upped the bounty to 100,000 kwacha - about US$30 - the best I could find to date was some decorated eggs at the airport (which don't count)

looks like you've managed to score enough weight to keep you honest, weights in zambia, of all places, lol

yeah, we could possibly score a few extra 5kg plates, but we took all their 20's, 15's and 7.5's.

It feels so good to be able to come home after a real frustrating day at work and punch out some reps - we were doing squats on the lawn last night with an audience of peacocks and chickens!

I've hit Week 5 of Prime and now dosing 100mg of Bolic (forskolin) a day.

Feeling utterly jacked mentally and tight, full muscle-wise.

Recovery is up - about 50% I estimate. We were squating until we had difficulty walking 2 days ago - still 'feel' the muscles but no 'soreness'. Another day and would be good to go.

I thought that marketing line of 'urge to flex' was a little far-fetched, but I got it going on.

One bottle of Prime will not cut it - need at least 3 - I would be crying in my Weetbix if I only had two, but I'll probably be saying that at three as well.

Wish I had some P-Slin with me - going to stock up on the bulk and hammer it as much as possible.

1st) dude, anyone outside of nz or oz doesn't know what Weetbix is, maybe you should have said weeties

2nd) 3 bottles of prime would be nuts, i've been using the 1 bottle you gave me stacked with a bottle of Drive and the results have been good, got a few zits popping up but that's a good sign that somethings working and after 2 1/2 weeks back into the gym after a 10 week layoff things are progressing nicely. good pump and good intensity, happy as.

cheers for giving me a bottle bro, i probably wouldn't have had the opportunity to try it otherwise because with the exchange rate and it's current price i was going to be shit out of luck! if only i had of hooked some up in the inner circle sale when the dollar was better, lol

keep pumping bro

b unit - I've got the pimples thing happening too across the chest too - but like ReCreate I think I'm a slow reactor to the product - Im in week 5 but only getting week 3 results.

The good thing is I stocked up on Prime on the release and won some more in the ReCreate comp - I'm good to go.

Glad to hear your enjoying it bro - apart from being a fellow Taranaki Lifter, I knew you'd give an honest, unbiased opinion on the product - you've got a lot of respect on AM.

Steveo - I'll be doing a 3 bottle run and take a breather for a month. My original goals have changed due to having little control over diet.

The new plan is a hideous recomp venture. Supplements will be:

Prime, mega-dosed P-Slin, Bolic, ReCreate

Sick looking stack! My eventual cut will look similar: Recreate, Prime, P-Slin (thanks to bulk powder soon), and [EMPTY SUPP SLOT]. I'm thinking DCP and/or forskolii. You just made my choice that much tougher with your forskolin endorsement, lol. Does USPLabs even still make that?

I too thought I saw some where a mention of a possible second run.... cant remember though....

Really its killer as most supps only use a moderate dose in an expensive blended supp.... nice to cheaply get a good high extracted dose of it though to use... I didnt get in on it the first go around and hope to if it does happen again.

Out of curiosity jkp, is the pay in Zambia the reason you decided to work there?

Mixture of both Steve. Work has dried up significantly in exploration, so took a stint in mining. It does pay well, but also have no costs while over there sweetens the deal.

This credit crunch crisis is going to f*ck EVERYBODY over - don't know how long the job will last for.

Had to take an emergency flight back to Aus for the family - will be back in Africa in 3 weeks.
