Feng Shui

Do you beleive in it? I want to rearrange my furniture today, and I've read on feng shui. The problem is, my space is limited. For instance, there's only one wall in my bedroom according to FS that I am able to put my bed against. Should I ignore it or what? Thanks

No.
Penn & Teller on their show BullSh*t exposed numerous Feng Shui "experts" who were hired to do a room. All of them re-arranged the room differently.
Why would the way you arrange furniture affect anything?

Feng Shui is Chinese for "Horse ****".

Its a great marketing scam I think. For a while it seemed like the 'in' thing among bored house wives ahead of Richard Simmons, Oprah, and the daily fad diet.

It will come and go, like all the other marketing scams. People will catch on, so they have to wait a generation to pick up some more suckers to sell more polished rocks and books.

Hell, I have some gravel at my shop I'll sell you 1/4lb for $50.00.

PT Barnum was a ****ing genius.

Sad thing is i saw a thing on MTV about these rich folk in Beverly Hills who have their own personal Feng Shui advises who tell them wether they can buy the house or not they're looking at.............actually isn't really that sad since there obviously loaded anyway but still it stinks that some people are making big money off this junk.

I know someone who hired a feng shui person. She must've hired the right person as they're doing quite well in personal and business. Sadly there's no way to tell if you can find a legit person or not.

Its easy. None of it is legit. I've never hired anyone and my business is flourishing.

I have spent alot of time researching this subject, and employing the techniques. While some of the stuff is pretty out there, most of the basic techniques will make a big difference in how comfortable you feel in a room. Especially regarding furniture placement, proper use of mirrors, sharp corners etc.

Like making sure there's a clear path from the couch to the fridge.

Yeah, I think this is pretty much it. There has to be comfort, flow, and a certain lack of disharmony...but the problem comes when people claim there is a definite science to it. It is more like artistic feel and knowing yoursellf and how you react to your surroundings to best make your home environment HELP your creative mindset rather than hinder it.
