ive done it alone and with gluco/chon/msm and other things. It works well alone. It takes a good 1-2 weeks to really feel a difference. I remember in college the first time I took it was because my elbow was hurting really bad anytime id do sets of bench with over 275, so I would just stick with that for reps. Well two weeks after taking cissus (2caps am and pm) I benched 365 for 5 without pain. It just didn't hurt to press anymore. I've taken it for months at a time, but stay on the glucosamine/chondroitin all the time.Were you using it in combo with anything or just cissus solo?
