One of my 3 shibas was a rescue dog. its amazing, cause she is the best behaved of the 3

I rescued 3 dogs about 3 years ago. Someone left them at the side of the road. It was a mother and her 2 pups. Adopted another that was left at the back door of the bar my wife worked at, but he died of an anuyerism in his stomach. Just adopted another about 2 years ago. The owner died and the dog was being taken care of by some people I know. They couldn't find anyone to take her and were having to leave her in the house for 15-16 hours at a time so they were going to put her down. My wife and I ended up with her. Great dog.

Anyone have a Mastiff? My female got to be 220 lbs!
Danes were bred from Mastiffs and Greyhounds

Bingo! Bred by the English and Germans, though Germany took charge of it. Originally used to hunt boar. Not to find boar, but to hunt and kill them. Then they were bred to be taller, gentler, and noble. VERY AWESOME as guard dogs - though Max won't attack, he'll give ya "hugs" till you fall over!!!!

One of my training partners has an Arkansas Giant Bulldog, which is basically a pit, mastiff, and bulldog mix. He is ~110 lbs and his name is Twinkle.

I don't have one, but I just wanted to say that your Mastiff is a fine looking dog. When I was growing up my parents got a female St. Bernard. She was a great dog.

That's great, he's probably the most gentle dog ever...

People were scared to death of my rottie, she would let kids ride her back if they hopped on, she was impossibly sweet. However, if a stranger approached me, she would let them know she was there and meant business. Dogs are great!

well, whoever wins....congrats. I'm going home.
It was fun.
I'll check back on this tonight or tomorrow and have 50 pages to read through.
:head: :woohoo:

My neighbor 1 house ago used to have english mastiffs, like 175 pounders. excellent dogs, other than them accidentally knocking you over when they turn too fast

Here is my baby boy, Vito, at 7 weeks. And his father. Vito is now 4 1/2 months old.

that was insane. Dog fighting is just plain disgusting, should throw the dog trainers into the ring and let them tear each other apart.
