Volcom's Androlean & Androhard Log

Have to admire the balls and confidence that it takes to challenge the top dog.

From what I've read. Ronnie fully believed he was going to win that show, so according to speculators, he was sort of in an over-confident glow, which I guess is common, that they tend to get overtly playful or aggressive during the pose downs when they believe they are winning or have hands down won the show.

However, Ronnie took 4th that show, but a week later in Germany, he took first, though there was no Branch Warren at the Germany show.

Just a Double Check

I've cracked my second bottles of AH/AL this morning, so I'm literally half way through at the moment, but I wanted some feedback to my planned PCT, as my PCT had been corrected once already (removal of Formadrol EXtreme).

My plan is:
Nolva: 10/10/5/5
Bulk DAA: 15 days on
ERASE: 3 caps/day

Phyo-Test: 4 caps/day
PRIME: 9 caps/day

Misc:
Beta Alanine
Creatine Nitrate
Fish Oil

Everything kosher?

My workouts maybe thrown into a loop soon. I just failed my registration smog check due to TRANSMISSION, so I'll need to push some bricks of coke or accept some hitman contracts in order to afford a new transmission. Once my car is in the shop, chances are I'll be sharing one car between my wife and I, which means dropping her off at work before I go to work and picking her up after work. For whatever reason, my body shuts down completely if I don't get to the gym by 5-5:30pm, I don't know what it is, so we'll see. Truth be told, I'm too stressed right now about that expensive transmission to have any desire to lift or eat, this blows.

You'll adapt pretty quickly. You're conditioned enough to be able to make a quick transition.

hey bud hang in there, im sure you will find a way to work things out. life is a constant obstacle race, all we can do is keep pushing. call around junk yards to see if anyone got a transmission that someone can throw in there for cheap. depending on the car you could potentially escape monetary rape.

the 5 pm shutdown is definitely due to adrenal fatigue. the more i read about it the more I see the same patterns. grogginess in the morning and low energy in the afternoon. try to stay away from caffeine completely and get extra sleep. this will help you deal with stress better, especially if your adrenals are run down. im just now experiencing the benefits of ditching caffeine and getting more sleep.

keep the diet going the same even if you cant get to the gym. maybe you are already somewhat overtrained and your body could use a little break. thinking positive ya know.

well I just ate, so I guess I'm not too stressed to eat. I reasoned I have no choice but to put it on the credit card. I don't know if Transmission services differ from state to state, but here in SoCal it varies from $1,300-$1,500.00, from what I've gathered.

The wife and I have shared a car for over 8 months now and it's a minor inconvenience, but easy to overcome.

I hear ya, it’s not the end of the world or anything, but as I’ve mentioned before, we support my mother-in-law with a thousand dollars a month and we’re both paying back monthly school loans; my wife went to a private college no less. The transmission thing is just a financial dent that hits a lot harder then it should at this particular venture of life.

You do what you have to do. Having workout partners on my lifting schedule is a great & enjoyable convenience, but not a need. Car troubles suck.

From what i hear Cali smog test are supposed to be ridiculous and the strictest in the nation.

But they are beatable :firedevil:

In my previous life I was a car enthusiast, specifically import cars, and I used to hang on car forums. Well instead of paying a arm and a leg for a motor or tranny we would order them from japan. They have some crazy law over there that limits the amount of miles they are allowed to put on their cars, so there are countless junkyards that strip them and sell them to the states. Well ALL those motors and trannys fail Cali smog test and the menses on the forums used to discuss ways to get around the test

Anyway long story short google is your friend, there may be a way to get around that test. It could be as simple as a sensor replacement somewhere, especially with newer cars there are sensors everywhere for every damn thing

It was really hard to get them to smog my corsa headers on my 2004 silverado. My air intake and Exhaust i had stickers for but lost or never got the C.A.R.B. sticker for the headers. Company wouldnt supply me with one anymore. Had to boot leg some stuff together.

In spite of today's less then encouraging news, I dragged myself to the gym and had a respectfully productive workout.

First and foremost, I attempted off the ground deads again for the first time in months & months. During my warm up I could feel the sciatic nerve a bit in my right hamstring, but instead of any serious, paralyzing sharp/shooting pains, it was more of an uncomfortable numbing. Obviously I went light today just to allow my erectors to acclimate and to test my general ability to perform them and I did satisfactory.

A surprisingly productive day given my mindset prior to entering the gym. Legs days aren't exactly my favorite day and I knew I would have forfeited tonight's workout if it was going to be legs night, so I really needed to make the gym enticing to get my arse in there somehow, which is when I told myself I'll try off the ground deads, something really attractive to me. I got in there, did a few sets, my mind was still on my car situation and how in hades I'm going to take care of it, the interest alone on the credit card for $2,000.000+ is a dangerous pitt. I've been in a credit hell situation before where I could only afford to pay off the monthly interest and barely shave the principal. My cop buddy, Arius, showed up and that was my lucky day. When I feel responsible for the quality of someone else's workout, I can put almost anything aside and focus on the training, so it turned out well.

Still stressed about the transmission issue, but I wasn't derailed from my lifting tonight, as I had expected to.

Update

- My traps are pleasantly sore, nothing taxes my trap like dead lifts and I've really missed that. I may take O-lifts out of shoulders day and put them in on Back day in the future, deads, O-lifts and then various back pulls, that would be some serious traps taxation. Quads aren't sore, glutes are surprisingly not sore, if any muscle got double direct taxation from sqauts/deads it's the glutes, but no DOMS. However, my inner thighs are murder.

- I've been getting comments about my face looking leaner, in spite of the scale not budging below 203.5. As long as I'm losing fat, even though I'm not losing weight, I'll be ecstatic.

- Car is in the shop, but not for a tranny replacement. I showed my usual mechanic my failed smog breakdown and he said he'll take a look at my car, whatever that entails. His initial thoughts were that I may not need a new transmission, but we'll see, its sitting in the shop now, so, hopefully something works out in my favor.

The fabled recomposition. Excellent.

I've had something similar happen with this same car about 5 years back. I have an exhaust on my car and air intake, however, my original air intake was bootleg, so when I went for smog it didn't pass. I left my car at that car shop that was smogging me, where they searched out an AEM intake, installed it, then finally I passed smog, but a routine smog turned out to be an expensive venture.

A couple years later, I was pulled over by a cop who's attention I caught with my exhaust I guess. He tells me he pulled me over because my left rear light was out. He told me to pop open my engine to see if I had any illegal mods, thankfully, I had a legit AEM intake, nothing happened. Of course, I got my girlfriend at the time to go out and check my rear left light and it was perfectly fine.

As lame as that was, it's hard for me to disparage cops these days, considering I'm friends with four of them and close friends with two, one being my workout partner, an L.A.P.D. cop, and the other one I'm close to is a couples friend with my wife and I, also L.A.P.D.

Today's cardio was rough and not so much on the cardio-respiratory system, it was just a pain in the arse, literally. I spoke prematurely about my glutes and hams not having any DOMS yesterday. My glutes are destroyed and my hams are destroyed, which are very symptomatic of performing RDL's for the first time in ages.

My workout was very specific this morning, given that parts of my upper back/traps were still sore from Deads, so I avoided taxing them during my morning back workout.

Behind The Neck Pull Ups
BW x 10 reps
BW x 10 reps
BW x 10 reps
BW x 8 rep
BW x 8 reps

Behind The Neck Hammer Pull Downs
180lbs x 10 reps
200lbs x 10 reps
220lbs x 8 reps
240lbs x 6 reps
240lbs x 6 reps

One Arm Hammer Pull Downs
90lbs x 10 reps
100lbs x 10 reps
110lbs x 8 reps
120lbs x 7 reps
120lbs x 6 reps

Behind The Neck Lat Pull Downs
190lbs x 10 reps
195lbs x 8 reps
200lbs x 6 reps
200lbs x 6 reps

Cardio: Treadmill, Level 10 Incline HIIT, 20 min.

I bought some 500mg Rhodiola yesterday to help combat the fatigue I've been having. I don't know if it's placebo, but I am feeling a little better already.

I'm hoping this coming Monday's Db chest workout will be better then last week.

Yah you might be feeling fatigue cuz you lower body fat than you are accustomed, happens to me every time. If you get dizzy during workouts or feel week a little orange juice does wonders. Grapefruit juice in your intra workout drink may help as well, that's what I did once last week.

Light headedness for sure. I've been wondering about that, thanks DW.

Interesting!! Hope it helps. Lightheadedness sux :o

Head Aches? I bet Paul Daley has one! Nick Diaz for PRESIDENT!

Yeah, neither of the Diaz brothers punches look like there's any weight behind them when you're watching it happen, but obviously there's something. Nick really put Paul Daley in check, especially after all that talk about how Nick was going to be too afraid to stand & trade with Paul, which if you're a Diaz fan, you know that ain't true.

Gilbert Melendez was sick and so was Aoki. It was an all around entertaining card. I doubt there will be any belt unifications, at least not until SF/Showtime contracts come to an end and the UFC absorbs SF completely, but man, Gilbert ate his opponent up!

I thought the Diaz/Daley stoppage was premature, but I was thoroughly impressed by Melendez, which he had yet to really do in terms of stoppages. Him against JZ would be really entertaining, but I see Noons getting the next shot at the title.

It was Melendez's fly new goatee. What do you see for Nick Diaz next? Who, if anyone in SF will be an interesting challenge for him?

LOl sup bigblack.

I didnt think the Diaz fight was that premature of a stop. i dont think there will be any complaints besides me wishing he got pounded more. I was so happy to see Diaz really stand and trade.

Strikeforce is much ore exciting that UFC in the last year.

To me, it goes like this in terms of excitement:
Bellator>SF>UFC

IDK how they do it, but Bellator always matches up fighters that put on a great show.

bellator rules! so much more room in the cage so there is much less wall stalling, awesome submission artists, overall great fights.

in other news, my boy Nick Diaz doing work!! beat daley at his own game. question now is, whos next?

Did anyone else feel kind of awkward or rolled their eyes when Diaz was annoucing Shield's as UFC's next Welterweight Champion? Diaz has to stop showing up to fights high on chronic.

I like the Diaz brothers though, perhaps more Nate then Nick, though I'm not certain as to why. Anyone else a bit discouraged by Gegard Mousasi's performace against Jardine? Granted, Gegard bloodied Jardine up, but I was expecting more from the Fedor padawan.

I know they train together, so I expected his support, but they all get on my nerves. Mousasi lacks great KO power to augment his great technical striking. I think many were way too quick to anoint him the next great LHW.

hahaha he was just telling GSP to not be scared, homie :)

i love watching nick fight. he always shows up in shape and ready to battle. i was really hoping for a quick triangle or armbar from guard to make a point but a TKO will do.

I was on that, "next great LHW" train until his fight against Mo and not because I discredited Gegard for getting outwrestled by an outstanding wrestler, it wasn't the failed TDD's that made me raise an eyebrow, it was his complete lack of even TDD attempts. I'm not certain Gegard even performed a sprawl in that fight, that's what got me off Gegard's next mini me Fedor train. Having a wrestling gap that big that I don't think is made up for by his superior striking is a hard fissure to glaze over in this day & age.

However, against Jardine, another kick boxer, I was expecting Gegard's strength to shine, especially considering Jardine's chin, as far his most recent fights in the UFC.

I like the Diaz brothers, I'm neutral about Gilbert and Jake and I'll actually be rooting for Shields just to stir the waters in the WW division, but I full-heartedly expect a GSP domination.

Also, the only reason I was intending to cheer for GSP was the potential unicorn fight between GSP/Silva if GSP wins, but it looks like Silva and Okami are set to fight in Rio, so.... guess I'll be rooting for Shields completly.

I don't know what's going on, but apparently I have three seriously sprained toes on my left foot. Nothing physically traumatic happened that i can think of, but I started off the morning with some discomfort in that foot and now it's causing me some serious limping.

Bummer about the toes, hope it doesnt affect your training.

I used to hate Diaz brothers now I have been a fan of theirs for 2 years.

I was on the train too thinking Mousasi was a big thing. he started to look softer, when he started to have a couple strikeforce fights he bursted out with flurries of pucnhes that were so over whelming.
