It’s definitely the Epistane.

Try an additional dose of magnesium supplement preWO.

Also, if you have a less aggressive belt, not a power belt ideally, that you can put on and wear throughout training around the low back, that can help slow the filling/pumping. A but like a corset, really. I have done this with a Velcro/weightlifting/deadlift belt to some success.
Ya I got a shitty velcro one I switched to a few times and it didn't help. IL try the extra magnesium pre workout but I don't believe it's going to help just because there have been times I took extra in the past and it didn't help.

I have to force myself to train arms to failure. I train them frequently but not really hard. I always do arms at the end so there pretty much warmed up when I get to the first exercise and I get my pump on the following exercise and usually call it a wrap
It's what I do too. It usually only takes 8 working sets ( 2 exercises 4 sets ) if I'm feeling good or have the time I'll add a 3rd. I actually think I need to dial it back scince I'm doing a traditional ppl. I'm still spending 2 hours training and then cardio after. Or maybe shorten rest to 30-45 seconds. I'm doing 16 -20 working sets for the major muscle groups which means I'm doing 32 -40 every week. I'm on enough gear there's no way I'm overtraining I'm more concerned going 4.5 hours without eating. Last meal before I leave work is at 230. Go home drink my pwo and at the gym by 430

On heavy stuff I rest up to 3 min but on all my 10+ rep stuff I'm like 45ish seconds between sets. Soon as I catch my breath I'm on to the next set. Typically a workout is about 1 hr for me but when I'm lifting and doing cardio togther I've had plenty take 2 hours.

It's not particularly epistane, all orals can do this. Some seem to more then others.

But everyone keep in mind, this is not a problem I started experiencing after starting epistane. I have this problem year round for as long as I can remember probably upwards of fifteen years. The epistane is just possibly adding to the problem
Just curious if you get back pumps like you have now with Superdrol. I’ve never had the back pumps but I had pumps in my shins and they hurt like a mother Fucker!

Everything is capable of causing them I think. It's hard to answer this question because I always get the back pumps, even when I'm taking nothing. So epistane amplified it. I remember thinking back in October the winni was doing it.

Last time I took SD I was all out dirty bulking to get up to 220 with a 6 week time limit so I was fat and eating **** and not doing cardio. So it could be SD or it could have ben high BP water retention and a loss of mobility and flexibility.

Gonna say unclear.

But seeing how SD loves carbs and fills you up it's very likely.

Hahahaha! I got ya. It’s been a long time since I’ve taken SD. My buddy got the back pumps and he had a previous back injury also.

I just had the most satisfying moment lol.

My 92 year old (today) Grandmother came over,. She comes over every thursday but we just ordered a pizza for her and some cake for her birthday cause that's what she wanted. She's about 25-50% there still mentally. But she does have her moments where she seems like she's 100% there, it comes and goes.

I went downstairs to do the cake for her and she grabs my arm and says man your getting big lol

Alzheimer's? My grandma didn't know if she and I were related or if I was her boyfriend in the end, she was incredibly sweet and pretty dang cute even though she wasn't sure who I was the last 6-12 months or so.

Yeah, I bet that was awesome you just have to love it. The last time i saw my Grandfather he had Alzheimer's and I was so worried he wouldn't know who I was. Lucky for me he was having a good day and knew who I was immediately. he then introduced himself to my X wife and said I am Chuck probert and I am 38 years old. My heart just sank for a second then he comes back with "Gotcha! You'll have to superimpose that, I am 83 young lady!" We all laughed so hard. The funny thing was he was 85 not 83 but we were so happy to see his sense of humor intact and him still be sharp as a whip even in his decline. My Mom and Aunt told me we were so lucky because he was only with it about 20% of the time. It meant the world to me and was a great last memory of him.

I had it all day at work today. I took a extra 3gm taurine and 400mg magnesium before work too.

I'm officially writing off taurine and magnesium for myself, they just don't help me at any dose.

In the past 24 hours I've actually taken 1200mg of magnesium and 8gm taurine and it's done nothing. I wish it worked for me but it doesn't at all.

IL keep Supplementing 3g taurine and 400mg magnesium as part of my daily supps anyhow but I need to find some other options for these pumps. I'm starting to wonder if I aggravated a old injury without knowing.
.

Regardless, IL work around it. There's always something and I'm not gonna let this be a excuse

I feel lucky, she always seems to remember me and not my brother or sister.

She had another witty moment before the night ended. And forgive me if I already mentioned this and i'm repeating the story again because I have a habit of doing that.

My dad was being obnoxious and my mom leaned over to my grandmother and says " He's getting ready to leave, do you think I should run him over with the car" And my grandmother responds back with, it depends on how good the life insurance policy is 😆 🤣 😂

All that magnesium didn't keep you on the toilet all day? That is one thing that wrecks ne at high enough doses. Muscletechs first pre-workout ever was loaded with magnesium and I couldn't get halfway through my shaker cup before I was trying to run to the bathroom with my b hole puckered

Done.

Flat bench 315×7
Parallel Squat 315x20

.I could have physically squeezed out a couple more reps on squats but mentally I was shot. I tried maxing out on shoulder presses afterwards and I worked up to 225 for 6. I couldn't get myself to push any heavier. Knocked out a couple sets of curls and skull crushers and went home. Or I should say i'm on my way home.

I'm gonna train legs Thurs with my boy and hopefully he can give me pointers. My legs are too strong to be the size they are, it doesn't make sense to me. Like I don't have crazy strength but I know plenty of guys half my strength with way better legs. I don't have that connection and I also have a really hard time getting a pump in my quads or hams.

That's crazy.
I've always had larger legs for my frame but my best squat is only like 345 for a double or triple. Ever.

I sorta think it's half genetics and half because during puberty it was BMX racing, football, wrestling, etc and cyclists have huge freaking legs. That's like four years of my puberty age that was many hours every single day working legs

When I was 100% natty my quads, calves and traps looked overdeveloped. When I ran .y first couple cycles everything caught up and was pretty balanced. After the injuries and time off the whole legs shrunk to damn near nothing, my left leg had no muscle left at all pretty much. Now my strength is back 100%, my calves almost 100%, but my upper leg development is about where it was when natural, maybe slightly better. I still have that explosive strength but I wonder sometimes if I did some damage that can't be fixed

It doesn’t matter what you lift if size is the price - what matters is you must find a means of progression to keep them growing. So at the technique and tension you are putting on them now, adding weight or total volume or time under tension or frequency.

Maybe, I do realize that size and strength go hand in hand to a degree. But sometimes I feel that because I'm good at explosive movements

(bare with me, tell me if this makes sense)

Because I'm good at explosive movements I recruit a lot of muscles to perform the job. But if I'm squatting with my core, lower back, glutes, hams, quads and calves.... Basically I'm doing a lower body exercise. No specific muscle is getting a lot of work and every muscle is getting a little work. So I might be better off doing lots of isolation stuff for legs till I can learn to just engage the muscle that is supposed to do the work.

sometimes it's like throwing darts until you find the thing that works. Layne talked about how hard it was to get his arms to grow and that the amount of volume, variation, and work to failure that he had to do isn't something he'd ever recommend to someone else unless they had absolutely exhausted all other options but it was the only thing he could do to help put on size IIRC. I've had a similar experience there. My legs might grow or atrophy more in a year than my arms will in my entire life lol.

Years ago I had my best leg gains during a full body 3x week program.

Squats were just 1 warm up set of 10 and 3 working sets of 6 adding 5lbs each work out. I would occasionally add a leg press or a deadlift.

I was doing a lot of power cleans that year and I was wrestling doing a tournament almost every weekend and having regular matches during the week.

100% natty, only supplements were creatine, n2large weight gainer and sometimes zma and glutamine.

To make it even worse lol, 90% of my diet was peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and whole milk.

I would wake up, eat cereal and fill a gallon jug with water and creatine.

Lift and then have a n2large scoop mixed with red powerade.

During the school day I would eat 4 or 5 PBJ with 4 or 5 cartons of milk.

Salami grinder and a banana for lunch and eat whoever didn't finish there lunch lol.

After wrestling practice I went to work and would eat chicken or steak with pasta or potatoes for dinner almost every night.

I wish I was a teenager again lol

I would definitely try this approach out. Nick walker does a very similar approach. He talks about it in one of his Arnold prep videos from this year.

I have the same situation being explosive, I found adding higher rep sets on leg press and hack squats really helped with adding size. I still think mine have a ways to go but the biggest my legs ever were I was doing hard 50 rep sets on leg press.

This is how I am. My strength work on squats, 5s and such, does very little to add any leg size. Too many other muscles involved, and minimal quads. But Legpress volume really does stack my quads up, even with a power/sumo foot placement high and wide.

Conventional deadlifting probably builds my quads more than how I squat even, honestly.

OK I don't remember the entire story perfectly so I could be screwing up the athlete, routine, supplements, etc but the moral of the story is unchanged.

IIRC Rich Piana (???) wanted to see if he could gain like an inch on his arms in a 24hr session or something like that.
SO IIRC, he put in like an 8hour session or longer? it was like sets to failure bicep + tricep pounding protein and aminos every 30 minutes, lift again, drink again, lift again, drink again.

I wish I could remember the exact story but in the end he did end up putting on like an inch and while most of it disappeared in a day some stayed.

Yeah I am pretty sure that was Rich Piana and there would definitely be a Cell Swelling effect and at a minimum some residual inflammation in the area. Not to sure there would be any measurable difference a week out fully recovered though. More of a gimmick for views in my mind.
