Sunday and Monday BOTH off days...

Was having some serious shoulder pain today, which was weird... Tonight it feels a little better which is weird. I'm thinking the ATD (Arom-X) could be drying the joints out a bit. Pretend you are doing the chicken dance, my left arm couldn't go all the way up, and there was absolutely NO power in it...

Anyway, we resume tomorrow with my partner for leg day... I can promise destruction.

Day 19(ish?)

Leg Day

Just some highlights for you guys today.

  • Squats: First time to 12 reps at 225 pounds.
  • Squats: First time to 3 reps at 275
  • Stupid bicep pump - extra reps on my usual EZ Bar Dropsets
  • Hit 10 reps at 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 plates on Close Stance Leg Press

Not impressive for some of you monsters, but I'm incredibly happy with my leg transformation over the past year... sh*t, I'm happy with the progress over this cycle. I was just pushing 6 reps on 225 on the onset. Also pleased that I can still progress on a 70% right foot. Definitely feel some new mass on my leg.

I might try light volume at 225 on the way up next time and try for 315... My legs are usually pretty shot by the time I get to 275, then the widows are right after.

Nice job TL. Legs are growing strong. Now you can bring more power from your legs for your striking. And try less reps on your way up to the heavy set. That way you get more time(reps) under a heavier weight. Sounds like a plus for this compound.
 
double the reps on squats already? that is a huge improvement! great job pushing yourself - its gotta be hard with a foot injury.:saw:
 
I was making progress in the reps while off cycle... but not 100% in 2.5 weeks...

I'm very pleased to say the least.

There was a kid that asked to work in with me today - part of those 12 reps was wanting to make him look like a pussy, because he was doing flat bench in the power rack before I got there.
 
By the way... my foot is a lot better - so I can't use that as an excuse anymore for lifting. Its still a bit too tender to work my calves though - and to do high impact cardio like running or even ellyptical - hence my biking.
 
the bike is the only cardio that can add muscle to your legs (bigger quads like the pro bicyclists). because of that, i will do no other cardio :)

Try going to 5 for 4 sets leading up to 300 5x5 style. EG
185x5, 225x5, 255x5 280x5, 300x? Its possible with more gas in the tank to hit it, if not this week it'll let you know how to ramp your weights for next week. Id shoot for 300 for reps 1)im crappy at squats and prolly should stay out of squat convo and 2) this is sparta.
 
Alright Alright... Well there was a guy that was pissing me off the day before for... what else? Curling in the power rack while I was waiting to deadlift - and this place had only one power rack. I asked if he was almost done, he said "no" in a rude tone... So I said "There are premade BB over in that corner, I saw them on my first day here. There's no need for a power rack to curl 55 pounds." He shot me another pissed off look, and I pretty much told him to keep his anger to himself and use it on that heavy 55 pound BB.

Anyway, I walked away, but the dude was there on Saturday morning too. I was waiting for a flat bench that he was standing by doing standing DB curls... THE DAY AFTER HE DID BB CURLS IN MY POWER RACK. I asked him if he was done with the bench (he was just standing by it after all)... He said he was going to use it later, I assumed that meant go ahead - so I started pulling it away. Then the fool threw his towel on it as I was pulling it away and said I'm USING it... So I grabbed the towel, chucked it at his head and got in his face and said "you sure?" I guess that was pretty much it. One of the trainers came over and asked both of us to leave... Kinda funny though, he came over to me when I was changing and started explaining how big of a douche that guy was and how he was hoping someone would crack him in the head sometime (which I did not) - anyway - he just told me he thought it was funny, and that the manager wasn't mad - and wouldn't call my home gym to restrict my membership (which really would be awful), and said I'm cool to come back when I'm in SF...

So yeah, sorry to dissapoint those of you who thought I put some b*tch in a triangle. It was a pretty passive encounter.

I would have loved some blood in that situation... Just sucks that I'm all grown up now, and it would usually involve jail. :wiggle:

Here-Here to avoiding booty bandit Butch in jail. I hear ya, I've averted many a road rage incidences with imagining myself on the news from a helicopter shot.

For whatever reason, I always get honked at by diesel trucks and there's been more then once where I wanted to slam on the e-breaks, run to the truck and drag the driver out in the middle of traffic and curb him against the steps of his truck, but again, I see the news helicopter showing this and all the consequences that would follow, such as making me really late to the gym.

I once got out of my car and fought two guys, KOed one with the first punch (he was drunk and didnt move at all) the second attacks me after i smashed his buddy. So i land a few shots on the second guy, he turns and covers his head and i chase him down the street screaming my war call........ then, i realise my van is running in the middle of the road with the door open.... there are a few witnesses..... one guy could be really hurt as he is KO'ed snoring loudly and landed flat on his back and head. Im driving a DJ van with the company logo on the side, the owner being a friend also.

Part of me said " i HAD to teach these idiots a lesson, its justice!"

Another part of me said " You got out of your vehicle, beat two guys and ran screaming down the street chasing one of them, your a lunatic. "

I told a bystanding female who was attending the Ko'ed guy to "put him in the recovery position" as i paced back to the van for my get away.

I had two guys with me who got out of the van evetually, the were shocked and gladly i didnt need there help when i attacked a group of four dudes.

I shiet you not after i got in, buckled up and started to drive away i unrolled the window and told the people standing there, " when he wakes up, tell him next time not to be an idiot and got what he deserved".

Off to do Shoulders and Bi's now with those visons and feelings surging in me.

There was a group of four guys who were walking alongside the road as i waited at a fourway.They purposly walked on the road stood there taunting me and pointing and laughing with a "what you gonna do about it" type of gestures and self assuredness of being four strong and having liquid courage.

I rolled downt the window ans said "get the fvk off the road you idiots", to which more taunting and now some audible swearing was heard. So i took off my seat belt and jacket, got out and walked over to them saying essentially "im in a large 5000 pound vehicle and if you got hit you could die, quit being retarded and get off the damn road" .
I turned to walk away having said my piece and i hear a "walk away puzzy" so i stop cold, turn and adress with my finger pointing at the face of the ring leader say "if you say one more thing im going to punch you in the face". He says, with a very taunting and cocky tone "go for it" so from about one and a half steps away i throw a right straight punch originating from my hip with a step worth of momentum and he eats it without flinching.

Thats more or less almost exactly what happened, another board member "punthra" is friends with one of the guy in the van who, from his seat, seen it all.

Ive got atleast 5-6 wicked "ko a fool" stories where i decided enough is enough. This one was a little quick but you can just tell when some people are up to no good.
 
I was kind of a douche today getting off the subway. One guy didn't move when I needed to get out - then moved reluctantly - then I felt like he kind of pushed me towards the door... after which I elbowed him... Not terribly hard, but hard enough to know I meant to. Then I turned around and gave him a glare. He looked really surprised, but didn't say anything... So the walk back to my apartment I was thinking - "did he push me? or am I a ****?"

Anyway, so I'm walking up my avenue - cross a numbered street - and this f*cking cab screams a left turn in front of me crossing. The nose missed me - but when cars take a sharp turn, the ass of the car pulls back towards the front left wheel - so I had to step back to avoid getting my bad foot run over.. So my passive non-violent ass punched the spot between the back door and the rear windshield. It was loud as sh*t - and left two knuckle marks in his yellow piece of dank.

So one guy definintely deserved it and the other might of.

And the unfortunate thing is, I planned another day of rest today because I don't feel comfortable with my shoulder and this split.

Anyway, should be ready for shoulder day tomorrow - just no lateral raises.

Its up. I usually wouldn't do that... I did feel bad about the subway thing... The only thing I felt bad about the cab situation is that the car didn't flatten Incredible Hulk style.

So I was thinking about skipping shoulders and core - and going to back today... maximum damage since I had a couple days off.

PRs in BOLD. Roll that beautiful bean footage. Felt so good near the end that I decided to throw in some mass exercises for my shoulders since I skipped it. I'll probably pay for it tomorrow, but I have plenty of time to heal. I know some cissus would take the pain away, but I don't want to get so addicted to an expensive supplement that I need it to keep pain at bay. I'm doing pretty well with Tiger Linment pre WO. Foot continues to get stronger and stronger.

Today I KNEW when I started that I was going to get the 405... Good feeling.
