* Do you tan in the sun or in a booth?
* Lotion, SPF's, or what?

I want to get some nice color (usually pasty white) for the summer time, possibly will continue if it's worth it.

Tanning beds are expensive, it seems. Do any of you use them?

I prefer the sun as I think it's more natural and I like being outside. However I seem to get burned unevenly. Notice the red chest and white portion of stomach.

And no... I prefer not to use the spray on stuff lol.

I tan in the sun and the tanning booth. It's a stand up booth so it's a bit more even than the sitdown ones. I only go once or twice a week. I'm not really sure if there's a need for any "special" lotions or anything...but I think it's a good idea to keep your skin moisturized. I typically just put on a bit of unscented lotion on the areas that are a bit dry.

I pay $45 for my gym membership with superbed tanning. Most tanning salons have a regular bed and super bed option. The super beds use UVB instead of UVA and give a better tan. I go 3-4 times a week in the winter and 2-3 times a week in the summer. I try to be outside as much as possible on the weekend.

I was thinking of tanning...I never ever get tan save for when I spent a week in Mexico for a missions trip. It would cost me 50 a month for my 24 hour pass and infinite tanning at my gym...

I prefer to be tanned. It's unusual since I'm blond, but I tan very easily. I tan 3-5 times a week in the winter, and supplement warm weather pool days with indoor tanning as needed. I have a tanning bed at home, which makes it handy. I have considerably better results (darker, longer lasting color) when I use a tan accelerator. There are several really good ones. Ebay is the best source. Look for Hempz HOT. Any accelerator that includes "hot" in the title will be good. These products are excellent moisturizers as well as actually pushing the tan deeper into your skin.

A word of caution on indoor tanning. Listen to the advice of those who run the salon regarding timing of your sessions. They can help you tan without burning.

I used to go some, actually stopped when my girlfriend's mom had a skin cancer scare...used to go to a chain called "Hollywood tan", they were 19.99 for a month unlimited for the lowest booth, which was still standup beds. Also, I do not condone tanning without RPN atomic meltdown

I used to use Melanotan II with great success, although I haven't been tanning in a while. I need to start going again...

I figured I'd edit this, but if anyone would like to try Melanotan II, just shoot me a pm and I'll link you up with a site. But man, that stuff was just flat out awesome, but I guess I got a little too tan to the point where I looked like I was black. So yeah, haha... It's too bad I don't have any pictures of how dark I was, I would post them up, but only side effect I encountered was if I injected it at night, my sleep would be interrupted because of the sexual side effect, haha. That and I my skin would flush along with some anxiety, but that goes away with continued use.

I was wondering if you could give me some info on your usage of Melanotan...where you bought, overall thought, dosage used, etc. I would really appreciate it as I am on the fence about this product. Also if you have any info if this product has an adverse effects on tats, I have a lot...:)

PM i you would prefer, I cannot being a new user with under 7 posts :(

I have a bed at home also. I don't abuse it.......I usually get in several times per month. Designer skin makes some good stuff for indoor tanning.

I use accelerator beds and regular beds. Any lotion but the hot stuff. I can't stand to be stinging the whole time! My wife doesn't mind it, but I like my women and food hot, not my skin.

The good ol' florida sun rules baby, hahaha!!

:djparty:

Even my irish/polish azz gets a nice tan year-round.

If I were to start tanning, i am a redneck... I kinda turn red. My friend who is also a redneck said you need a good tanning lotion. Suggestions for a pasty white boy? And yeah I know to start out slow. With lower times. But I would love to be tan for the second time in my life...I will give in to tanning.

Hempz Hot is the best I've used. Not regular Hempz, but Hempz Hot tan accellerator.

I will look into it. It is 15 bucks more a moth for infinite tanning. 2 times a week should accelerate it a bit. I am out in the sun often... I just dont tan.

Lately I've been using Neutogena aerosol spray as it's not quite summer here yet...but I dearly miss booth tanning, oh my I used to meet the hottest women at the place I went to back in Massachusetts...

Been using the Tropicana stuff I found at the dollar store (lol)

It provides me a brownish tan, instead of a sun burn which i usually get.

I get pretty dark. On one vacation some friends mistook me for our mutual Puerto Rican friends. But at my age and genetics as far as cancer, tanning would be russian roulette. But I am going to be out on the beach for the next couple of weeks, and for the first time actually use sunblock. What do you all use to help "keep" the tan though?

Harry, this will sound too simple but for me, it is tried and true. Get pure aloe vera gel and use it generously after every shower. I have tried many products for maintenance and this is hands down the best. And try not to burn. Tanning gradually pushes the color deeper.

I have not tanned my face since I was a kid. Sunscreen daily. I don't know how guys feel about it, but I'd rather use a bronzer (done right it's not obvious) than have sun damage to my face. I know a powerlifter guy who shaves his head daily and uses a bronzer over his whole head, face and neck. Looks 100% natural. He went to the men's cosmetic counter at Dillards. The girls there helped him find the right product and taught him to use it.

Cool thanks. I have used Aloe Vera alot in the past as well. It always browned me out after the initial reddish tone I get. Nature always works wonders.

I would say Metro, which is a only a few beers away. The only reason I considered a bed was I'm lily white right now, other than my sweet farmers tan. But to each his own really. I do think alot of girls go to far with it. A tan looks good certainly, but too much can detract.

A friend of mine owns a large tanning salon. She said about 40% of her business is guys. Some come b/c tanning takes care of certain skin issues. Candida (an itchy skin yeast rash) is usually completely eliminated. Rosacea, jock itch, athlete's foot, and other fungal infections are tremendously helped also. Which brings up a point I meant to make earlier. If you tan at a salon, be sure their sanitation practices are excellent. Don't hesitate to ask.

My skin tone is on the fair side. Any "tingle" product makes my skin crawl too bad. Like Keeper said, you can find great deals on tanning products on ebay. Some products that run 50-90 bucks can be bought for 20-25 dollars if you keep a close eye on them.
I have probably 20 bottles I have bought off ebay.
