Alright, im a pale SOB. My girl is fairly dark we're like night and day. I did one of the gayest things and bought a tanning bed membership for 20$ a month.

What are some good supplements to help make my skin better/tan well too?

I already have good tanning lotion but what about vitamin E? etc?

Haha I need to do the same thing, I get red dots all over my arms and legs when I get pale, but I always decide against it for the gay factor too. Props on not letting it get to ya and doing it anyway.

My GF tans as well and i thoght about picking it up just to build a base for the summer. I tan pretty quick in the sun and have a good tan over the summer months but right now i'm pretty damn pale.

I dont think its ghey at all. In fact I make sure to include it in every PCT I do. Especially in the winter.

Abstract

Urinary luteinizing hormone (LH) and the melatonin metabolite (6-sulfatoxymelatonin; aMT6s) were measured in normal young men following early morning light exposure. Eleven young healthy men ages 19–30 years participated in this study. During separate weeks in counterbalanced order, each subject received both 5 days of bright light treatment (BL) and 5 days of placebo light treatment (PL) for 1 h (05:00–06:00). LH excretion was increased 69.5% after bright light exposure, but was not changed by placebo light exposure. The acrophases and offsets of aMT6s were advanced, but the duration of aMT6s excretion was not changed after BL. Light stimulation of LH could have interesting applications in psychiatry and reproductive endocrinology.

Tyrosine has to first be converted to l-dopa before final conversion to melanin.

We skipped the middle man, and used a decent dose of L-dopa in the new Atomic Meltdown.

Color enhancement is way better than even the original.

/releasing the new version, on sale, sometime this coming week.

Here it is common to see guys tan. And honestly a good tan showcases muscle so much better. It gives the illusion of more defined cuts. Hey guys work hard to build it, why not show it off!

That and the vitamin D benefits.

I am a very light skinned person (scandinavian heritage) and I burn like a mofo. I'm not ashamed to admit that I tan. Hell I buy a year package at a time. Now I never burn. Taking copper is supposed to help with the tanning process, but I haven't tried it. I just started at 2 minutes (and burned!) and worked my way up very slowly. Now I can lay in their hottest bed for the max time and not burn.

Just take it slow. Best advice I can give.

just curious as to how much you pay for a whole year package? I have a skin condition requires me to get exposed to the sun or my other option is to apply ointments, needless to say the sun option is the best but i never have time so the tanning both is the my best option... anyhow, my gym charges $140 for 4 months unlimited, what is everyone else paying?

55 unlimited a month

30 a month here(thats on sale) . thats all i do it for if I have something that almost requires to be tan coming up a month at a time... other than that no use.I did like the even skin tone I got though...

I think i may start doing it once a month when i get my haircut at my barbers....just to keep my skin healthy(yes healthy-not enough sun isnt good and getting burnt and too much isnt either-in fact it can take its toll years , many years after you get severely burnt. another fact some children who live in smog cities and get no sun get rickets because of no sun)

In the spring summer and fall i make time to go outside and sit there 15 minutes at a time sometimes more ..

im not shamed at all.its in my gym,hop in there before the workout and your all warmed up and ready to rock the weights.10 bucks a month.cod liver oil and a good lotion works well.

That's not a bad deal.

There's nothing gay about tanning. I go once a week in the winter for numerous reasons. It's also free with my $20 a month gym membership. Atomic Meltdown is awesome for tanning.

It cost me $80/year, BUT I have to pay $2 a visit after the first 15 that come free. This is for their "Silver" package, they only have 1 bed better than the ones I use. No appointment needed, they have like 20 beds.

That's a smokin deal.

Mines $27/month I believe. I'm still a teen with acne and it clears up my complexion, but if I go too much or for too long I get small red bumps under my eyes and around my nose. Kinda lame, lose/kinda lose situation.

had some slight pigment problems arrise a few years ago. went to a few doctors that did nothing. finally got a biopsy done and i have vitiligo. doc said only thing that will help is sunlight. started tanning recently and my spots have become less noticeable but still looking for something to help. anyone have a suggestion?

you have light patch or dark patch vitiligo?

I do believe there is something you can do, but I haven't developed it further than the initial research.

don't feel alone there bb4, i have had small bouts with sebbhoretic dermatitis, & tanning pretty much eliminates it. i do have concerns about skin damage in the future, but i think that life pretty much causes death anyway... hehe. i think maybe we might want to crank up some related supplements, like antioxidants, A,E,C, maybe omega 3's,grapeseed X, green tea, you get the idea, use 'em if you got 'em!

it's light... and it's a little different than most i think. instead of big and blotchy they are small dots(some about the size of a dime others the size of a quarter) like i said the tanning has helped some but it still looks like ****. i've seen expensive creams online that say they can help but they might not. usually people run these creams for months just to see if it makes a difference for them. i'm just looking at other options.

i guess this thread was just what i needed to make up my mind about renewing my tanning at my gym thats why I was asking how much you guys are paying, i walked in the gym this morning and asked for a deal to renew, i got 5 months unlimited for $140 on the stand up booth, my special was one free month. not as good as some are paying but still worth it, this way i'll be ready for summer

I do tan, and I consider it normal. I usually pay 30/month unlimited, because our gym only cost 20/month to tan, but they only have 1-2 beds. You can never get in and out quick. Ever. I too have been absent from tanning for 5 months now, so I'm quite pale.

Not sure if everyone else notices, but if I tan, I get a sense of well being afterwards, and once I stop going, I start to get this "I'm missing something" feeling. Almost like coming off a stim or something.

That would be the vitamin D.

In Sunny Orange County, I pay 18.99 unlimited per month. Im going every other day, increasing the minutes when I feel is needed, so far, Im at 9 minutes so far, Im a bg red today when I flipped over and laid on my stomach

Thanks thee for starting this. I've been debating this for a couple of months now. the thought of it being gay never really crossed my mind, hell if it'll show off what i work so hard for i've shaved my legs at times... I was wondering about Anti oxidants too, i figured E and EFA's might be good but havent heard much talk of antioxidants being supped. Good idea.
I live in denver CO (a mile high) so the sun burns and it burns fast if you dont have a base, so this may become an investment for me this year. Thanks for all the posts guys really helped!!

I took 4000iu of Vitamin D at 10 am...then we decided at around 3 to go for a quick tan - I got the weirdest high from it - huge mood boost.

Good post, definitely about to rep for the research. The pros of tanning are stacking up

I love tanning...It's relaxing, makes me look better and feel better...Only thing better is if I rubbed one out in the bed....hmmmm...

Haha go for it, no black lights around right? Though before i go jumping up in one of the beds now i may be a little more hesistent

I just recently started going tanning.................... haven't signed up for an unlimited deal and it was pretty expensive /// i feel real good afterwords like i spent a day at the beach, not to mention the extra vitamin d coursing through my veins. my friends thought i was homo after i did though haha

Skin cancer and premature skin aging do not sound like a pro to tanning bro's. I tanned for 10 years of my life, and have since been diagnosed with 4 pre-cancerous cells on my back.

Stay out of the beds and use a good self tanner or hire a tanning airbrush specialist to do it for you.

Well you guys convinced me, and a friend was telling me it's awesome and I should go with her so I will.

I've been using my Atomic Meltdown and loving that nobody comments on me smelling like a stack of pancakes;)

Yup, a hot teacher at our school as gotten skin cancer twice. She stays away from the beds now, as do I.

I just can't wait until summer.

I bet you she overdid it. I only do it for a special occasion(like pre-contest) and sun when Its nice to go outside.

and yes it has been proven some sun is good for you esp during winter months when most people dont get any. just not too much! google it
