Hopefully the rally squirrel will be traveling to Philly with us ;)

Redbirds headed to the NLCS!

That was seriously one of the most intense games I've ever watched. My heart was racing through the entire thing; just afraid we'd give up a run at any moment. So amped.

Celebrating last night's victory before "Happy Flight" lol

Well, we got the L tonight, but we had our chances.

Good relief effort from Boggs

Is there any relation to Wade Boggs?

And for the NFL...The Eagles are freaking awful this year :frustrate

Steve Bartman:

EDIT: I wouldn't have posted that had I seen the Harry Caray post first! I actually feel kind of bad for Steve Bartman...

2 run first inning HR for Pujols (about time he showed up!)

Varlamov shut out the Bruins today (great, tight defensive game) for the first win of the season for my Avs. Too bad they didn't win when they retired Foppa's number on their opener.

A 2-run shot in the first and 3 doubles...That was much overdue (seriously, first post-season HR since '06; I didn't know that).

What is everybody watching tonight?

With the Rays out of the AL side, I'm actually not all that interested in the ALCS. It's sad, because I don't dislike either of the other teams and Texas is pretty exciting, too. I'm just an NL guy at heart for the most part.

That being said, I'm watching some shows I'd missed from Sunday/Monday and I've got the box score up on ESPN.com -- if it gets exciting near the end, I'll turn it on.

It's crazy that they'll have 4 games in 4 days because of the rain out.

I grew up a fan of all sports Philadelphia. My only non-Philly team was the Orioles (b/c I grew up in Maryland).

I started following the Rays not too long ago b/c I got tired of not being able to watch my team on TV. I also started going to games...that's when I really made the switch. It's been hard for me to give up on the Eagles, Phillies, and Flyers though. They seem to get a lot more national coverage. I'm really trying to switch over to local teams, but it's so hard to pull for a different team after so long.

No doubt, man.

When I was really little, I was always just a fan of whatever team I played for lol. In baseball, I started off as a White Sox fan (but more of a Frank Thomas fan, to be honest). My dad was always a Cards fan and we lived in a spot in IL that was the same distance (3+ hours) to either Chicago or St. Louis, so it didn't make much of a difference. Once Thomas started getting older and still wanted the same money despite his production going down (and around the strike) back in the mid-90's, I kind of stopped caring and then followed in Dad's footsteps and started pulling for the Redbirds -- never looked back, since.

Now here I am in Kentucky where we have no professional sports franchises lol. Everything is college basketball here. Oddly enough, we're closer to 3 NFL teams than I ever was in IL (Bengals and Titans are 2 hours away, Colts are 2.5 hours away). But MLB is the only sport that I really have a team in. In NBA and NFL, I'll pull for teams, but I usually root more for players (and college I typically just enjoy watching any good game).

If I were the Brewers, I would not be excited to face this guy after his last outing.

Pujols came up big in Game 2. I'm hoping it's contagious and the other guys get hot, too.

Although not my favorite team, this is for you cardinal fans...
