Snag's New 'USPlabs Asteroid Armageddon Assault'

you can't leave for long!

Can't leave you kids alone for a second, can I? :nono:
:D

Well I'll waste an entry on my pathetic state of affairs this morning:
had me a cheat night last night, just kinda happened..in case anybody is not hip to my 'cheats', I go all out (everything I do is all out, ahaa), so we're talking some major food intake here, and crap intake at that. Of course I fill up the toilet the morning after these outbursts (multiple times sometimes!), but today was the first time I was interrupted after beginning the workout, got my 2 warm-ups in and off I ran! Not to be gruesome or anything, but this was after hitting the throne twice already before training..and I had only been up 2hrs. So after another 15min squat I didn't have time to resume the workout (had to work this morning).. Needless to say, I'm not too happy. Lethargy was present this morning too, but I'm sure that was due partly by the atrocious bloating that I had going on.
Soooo..the great thing now is, these days always get me back on track for a long run of conscientious dieting and training. Tomorrow is weight session in the morning, then tennis following.

You must be on that new "Splash" diet huh Snag??

Gross.

Its the big man himself.....what are you weighing now bro?

BTW i didnt mean bigger than snags, it was just a complimentry term, not to mean anything snide by it, as your both huge.

LOL. I am *NOWHERE* near Snag huge.

203ish. Been stuck here for about 2 weeks. I'd like to hit 210 by June. We'll see how it goes.

Sorry for derailing your thread further Snag.

Brings to mind a story..
I'm in sales, and about 11yrs ago now I first got into the insurance business with a company that promotes growth thru face-to-face interaction. So we'd set up appointments with existing clients and try to 'upsell' them to new products. Part of the procedure was reviewing their current health/accident coverage.. Well one day as I was being trained by this guy from Africa named Karl (think Dr. Chase on House -- looked & sounded just like him), and we're reviewing these older ppl's coverage (folks were in their 70's). These folks had used their coverage with us the previous yr, and the husband & wife all the sudden become quite heated as they recalled details of the incident in question (apparently the wife got hurt and blamed the husband, while the husband was being quite adamant that it was her own fault, and they were both beginning to shout and the husband was cussing all over the place)..
Me & Karl are sitting there watching this for awhile, until the husband was getting pretty worked up, and all the sudden Karl says 'Now come now, let's not have a train smash.'
You have to picture the whole English accent and the scene (in this little breadbox of a house, with 2 70+yr olds getting all crabby with each other, and I'm brand new trying to learn the ropes; prior to that I'd never heard the phrase 'train smash' before)..it was just hilarious. Even crazier: after all that excitement, the folks ended up buying more coverage! :biglaugh:

As for the missed workout this morning: I don't like training outside of my normal times, but when I got off work & got home.. I got that shizz on! ;)

I hate it when my schedule gets thrown off too - you plan your meals all day around the upcoming workout, and then if you have to move, it screws everything up. :(

BTW, I just was looking into a full 12wk run of the Asteroid Stack. $300 for the Prime alone? OUCH. I only wish I could afford such luxury... :)

Day #24
Lethargy is..tiresome. Jeez Louise..not as bad as it has been, but still there nonetheless. I actually have come to the conclusion that, despite aiding toward the cause of the issue, product X is only a factor in the lethargy..the real culprit is overtraining. Coming off my contest-type prep and moving directly into the Freak workout (and of course giving my usual 110% effort along the way ;)) probably wasn't the best timing; product X boosted strength immensely, which of course made me mentally continue to strive for improvements every session. I just think my body's rebelling a bit these days.
So I switched up the routine today, brought back some iso movements and pounded out shoulders & biceps (abs too), but used same A1, A2 set movement w/ 45sec rest between sets. I think, combined w/ my reduced caloric intake and my activity level outside the weightroom, that I'll go back to one of my basic stand-by routines and concentrate on fat-loss for awhile.
All supps remain as is; still no Prime in the picture.
Tennis is up soon! And it's 80 outside today!! :D

Were going to see some pretty hot weather this week for the first time as well... high seventies!!

Lil update pic..
Out on my deck..had to bust out some grilling today since I saw Iron Lungz talking about grilling steaks in another thread..no steaks on hand, but some nice lean beef, and broccoli grilled in foil, tasty. I love my grill! :D

Yeah I had a hella pump from mowing my yard! :biglaugh:
Today was off day from workouts, but I've been staying pretty full & pumped all day long on a regular basis. Pretty impressed with that result!

Don't ya guys like the Popeye face going on?

Muscle hardness is defnitely on the mark. Looking like a stone is always going to give you a look like you are an extra 10 lbs bigger.

Nice deck, your grilling haven ...

I was out at a BBQ yesterday myself to mark the end of exams; wow do burgers taste better on charcoal that on the George Foreman !

..You guy's are tempting me to get the grill out and make a nice big steak !

:food:

Chewing on some ground sirloin burgers right now....done on the grill of course!! You look so damn full Snag!! Man do you fill out that frame well...

Sunday, Day #26 - tennis w/ my son for an hour..liitle dude had me running all over the place with his drop shots & cutters (that his old man taught him! :D), great cardio..
I put this one serve down on him that tied him up, made him look like a pretzel: a hard slice that spins & curves to the left, and then when it hits the court it kicks off left even harsher, I mean the ball is literally running away from you..when this particular serve went by my kid he turned around all mad-looking and said "What the heck was that?" I'd never unleashed one on him quite like that. Funny as hell..

Today, Day #27 - Went w/ one basic bodypart training today, smoked some heavy chest work..Went with the Yates philosophy of 1-2 working sets per exercise, 2 exercises in 6-10 rep range after 2 warms (incline barbell & flat-bench DB press), going all out on each set and using rest/pause..I'm still kinda digging throwing these heavy weights around, so we'll play this by ear.
2 sets of weighted dips followed; finished up with some ab work.

Shoot, forgot to mention baseball last night! Had a light workout, felt good.

Dang you should go easy on him! Haha I suck at tennis...I just remember how i used to try and hit tennis balls into the pool when I was a young trouble maker...hitting a life guard was multiple points :o

shoot, you should see what he does to me! he does something wierd with the ball like 75% of the time, cuts it or drops it, some kinda spin on it..his power game just needs to develop a bit, he's got a good game.

yeah sounds like you were an off the chain hellion there bud..

mmmmm..having a hi-carb day today, just chowed on a bowl of mush, dig it..

1/2 cup 10-Grain Cereal (*cooked)
1 scoop ProComplex vanilla
1 TBS Power Butter PB
all cooked together

optionally, you can top this off with skim milk poured over, but I didn't go that route.

breaks down to @500cals, roughly 60g carbs/45g protein/10g good fats + 2g fish oil and 1 cap product X (yes I brought back the X @ 4/day again!) :D

Gotta love the high carb days!! I tell you I am responding very well to AP so I can handle a fair amount of carbs (what a switch that is hard to fathom). I am not sure about Pslin though I don't get the same feeling. Can't be that bad though as the fat is melting away. I'm having a medium carb day about 200-250 grams depending on how I feel.

I really have to bite the bullet and try AP. Living life in perpetual low carb hell sucks....

Haha ya thats not quite so bad...but I was a little rebellious child

Give it a go .. I am virtually shocked how well it works. I have to be ready to ingest extra carbs as it seems to just work better the more I take it.

I am likely going to do a heavy duty recomp asteroid Prime ramp up run in the fall. Oh yah it's gonna get nuts...

I think I will. I am tired of feeling flat all the time and I can not get a pump during my w/o.

Well if you prefer to feel like a rock... join the armegeddon club. Seriously you feel like rock around the clock..

I gotta do this too... if for no other reason than because you and Snag show continuous, noticeable and natural progress using this stack.
Hellz yes! Love the stack, results are in the bag! :D
And I am thinking of popping some Ultima into my gig..you and Iron talk well of it, this intrigues me.

Ultima is great for stamina, and intra-set and general recovery. If you're not looking for an "energizer", but rather something that is going to simply enhance the energy you already have, it can't be beat. You just have to play around with the dosing a bit.

I should be adding it in a week, maybe two if I am extra patient...so you should check my log out even more than you already do  :o

Mythbuster: does cooking protein powder somehow destroy some of it's goodness? (Gawd, feel like a newb for asking!)

Don't sweat it brother, actually that's a good question:
Question: Does baking ruin protein?
Recently I started baking my own protein bars. I was really happy thinking that I was actually getting most of the benefits from the Isopure whey protein powder I was using, until my brother told me extreme heat makes the protein to lose its properties. I was baking my bars at 375 degrees F for about 20-25 minutes. Is that true?

Answer: Heat denatures proteins, which means it changes the overall shape of the proteins. For example, cooking changes the shape of the proteins in an egg when you cook the egg. In this case, denaturing the egg proteins changes the texture of the egg from slimy to firm.

Cooking changes the shape of proteins, but cooking doesn't take away the amino acids found in them. Baking your protein bars will not ruin your protein.

Just for clarification purposes tho, in this particular dish I cook the 10-grain cereal for 10min first (hard grains, needs cooked for awhile to soften), then at the end add a cup more water+the protein+the PB (and usually add cinnamon too, didn't today), heat on high while stirring for about 30sec.

Day #28
Well..the Lethargy Gods decided to bypass my house this morning (Thank You!! :)) and I had a kick-ass leg session..legs were fresh and strong. Ran a hybrid workout, 6 sets of pyramid heavy parallel BB squats finishing at 350 -- this felt ridiculously light! :dunno: Followed with 4 sets of leg extensions/curls semi-supersetted (30sec rest between A1 & A2; 60sec rest before A1 again)..and I was outta time. Killer workout done in less than a 1/2hr. I'll hit calves on THUR to get 'em in.
Great energy today, just felt really good, hated being pressed for time this day..

Yeah, too bad you didn't have more time to take advantage of the good buzz. I love gym days like that!!
