Very similar to mine Snag, "always be happy, never be satisfied." That is frequently use and used to push myself into uncharted territory.

Being in this sport/lifestyle you have to be a little OCD or the discipline will never be there. I hate morning workouts but I shot out of bed today and got mine in early knowing I can't later. That is what seperates so many of us from the out of shape, always tired crowd who are all talk and no dedication.

Yah that's where I was going with this.. the drive has to come from somewhere...
 
no doubt - controlled OCD can be a very positive thing. :hammer:
I've been OCD since childhood (never any medication) but have learned to make that work to my advantage in areas.
I always strive to take negatives and see how I can turn them into positives..it's a process for sure.

OCD for me is a coping mechanism I devleloped to overcome my ADD or ADHD whatever the case may be. As I had to devlelop a way to keep myself focussed. I have managed it quite well and never really knew I had it untill my son starting showing symptoms and I read up about it... all I could think is .. isn't everybody like this.. apparently not. Who knew...
 
right there with ya man..OCD never really was a thought in my mind, it's just the way I was. I didn't understand that other ppl didn't have this type thought process till I got older.
and OCD takes many different forms..the most nuisance part of mine (and still to this day) is my coupling with slight dyslexia. I was really dyslexic in childhood, not so bad now unless I'm in a hurry. but my OCD always has me reading and re-reading what I type or write to make sure I'm not misspelling things, kinda irritates me sometimes. DEF slows me down. :(

Ahh see, it's your dyslexia that caused you to become OCD... just like my ADD was the root cause...

You know what really helps me when I am getting too stressed about things as I tend to do ... I try and do what the Serenity Prayer says.. works wonders.
 
got a little later workout today than usual, but rocked it again!
shoulders and abs, rests @60sec thruout.

hi-consumption day today, had a big breakfast (@650cals), and my postWO meal was @800cals/120g carbs. :approve:

1 cup oats
2 small bananas
2 scoops Cytogainer
1 scoop Myofusion

preceeded by Pslin+AP combo. :yup:

this may be a somewhat blessing in disguise.
I find that with mine, and younger generations, we are developing shorter attention spans because technology. People just want info at the snap of a finger and they are onto the next thing. But the brain is meant to slow down, focus, and process information. lately, I have been trying to discipline myself t o slow down and focus on quality reading/writing rather than snap it out faster.
 
A little motivation goes a long way; cutting into your sleep time to hit the gym when you know there's 12hrs ahead of you is rough. But I think all of us on here are dedicated to our health and fitness; hopefully I don't let that slide.

I definitely find my lifting compulsive as are many things in my life. However I am far from OCD. I get frustrated when something I am compulsive about does not go according to plan but I can let it go. That is not quite the same as being obsessive. I can function, I can let it go even though it has an effect on me so i am missing the obsessive part. I have been around a severely OCD person and damn it was sad. I think we can all get a little obsessive, and a little compulsive but to get to the point of calling it a disorder it has to be a situation that debilitates you not benefits you. Otherwise you are in control and it is just individual quirks we all work through.

I do the same as you do Snags regarding rereading my writing unless I am in a hurry. I also end up giving myself 12 more ideas of what I want to write then have to add them in and reproof that to make sure it is coherent. I do almost obsess regarding making sure what I am saying is being communicated. Spelling on the other hand not too worried about, it always jumps out at me after I submit even after proofing. Ha Ha I did it with this post at least 4 time already and added in 2 things...:dunno::dunno:

Just the way of the times these days Kleen. I come from another generation than most on here.
 
I am in between generations, I was lucky enough to be raised pretty old school and I am raising my children that way too. I am hard on them, keep them structured and I love and coddle them too. My son already knows he want's his lisence this year he has to get a job lined up or start one so he can pay the difference on the insurance once he gets started. No job no ride. He knows if he isn't going to college he ain't living at home unless he pays 300 a month rent and 1/3 of the bills and even then he still has to follow my rules and doesn't get a say. No dough you go... I refuse to let my kids grow up the way a lot of younger people have.
 
They have to understand the value of working for something. I see too much given to kids these days. What the hell do they have to strive for if it is all given to them? Raising kids is the best and the hardest job in the world. The consequences when not done right are heart breaking. There is no better feeling than seeing your child become a loving,caring,productive addition to life!!
 
Right he could have put a picture of a veggiesaurus up there and not the Mighty T-Rex!
 
Yep and the dinosaurs around here have truely survived the test of time. Not everybody is a lifter when it comes to this lifestyle. Some people only visit it occasionally. That is as confusing to me as my compulsion for lifting is too them.

Proud of who I am, yah I am a bit of a caveman!! I am a man, I raised my son to be a man ... no sign of metro in this guy. I think a man should be strong, a good father and husband, willing to fight for his family and what he believes is right. Integrity is a key, your children learn from who you are and what you do not what you say. Make a stand what's yours is yours, and allow others what's theirs.

Not extinct, just evolved into a man beast with amazing strength, drive, and motivation. Something that still has to keep moving to keep it's eye on the prize. No movement no vision, the way of the T-Rex constantly pursuing in order to not lose sight of the goal. Nah I think I will take it.
 
blew up the back today, another solid session. :dance:

what a difference a day makes tho:
today's postWO nutrition was a large grapefruit, 1 scoop NItroCore24 and 1 scoop Lipotropic, choco flavs.
went from 800+ cals yesterday to just over half that today!

lol I inadvertently took another stab at metro didn't mean him specifically... I don't have anything personal about being metro ... just my being that way, my son has picked up on that ... he's a fuggin animal like his dad!! Proud of it too!!

threw a twist into my training, ran arms/ab day..had a lil dietary excess last night (it was a cheat couple hrs :o), and tho it was a scheduled off day today, I figured I needed to burn off some calories. :run:
so, ran FTP..
1 AP, 4 Prime, 3 PF, 3 SuperCissus, 1 OEP+1 RC, 2 scoops Jack3d upon rising.
my homemade drink for surrounding the training was @28.5g BCAA, 12g EAA, 20g glutamine, 10g creatine.

close-grip BB bench, V-bar tri pushdowns, lying DB extensions for tri's; BB curls, EZ-bar curls, hammer DB curls for bi's; 6 sets abs.
60sec rest thruout. :hammer:

follow training w/ addtl AP cap, eat 15min later.
 
tonight will be a ginormous cheat meal too, as I'm taking my wife out to a very hi-end Italian joint, and I'm picturing about a gazillion grams of satfat and a slab of pasta being consumed..
OEP is gonna get tested! :biglaugh:
I will be pre-loading w/ AP+Pslin, of course. :yup:
