SilentBob's (no-drama) chatroom

I know I'm gonna get flamed for this, but I'll ask it anyway just to create non-drama...

Anybody here actually NOT into football? I guess I should be a Steelers fan like every other dammm person around here, but I just never got the point of it. Not a sports fan anyway so it's kinda hard to wrap my head around it. I dunno... Maybe it's me, but I'd trade playoff tickets for tix to the Smithsonian. Yes, I am a dork, nerd, and geek.

and professional zombie slayer.

Football, sadly was driven out of me by working a solid YEAR of Sundays. Now I still like the sport, I like watching a good game, but the thrill is gone.

I'm on page 60 of Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter (Abe just killed his first vampire, at the age of 12!) Decided to take a break to check on the forum action.

Ehh...Here it comes.

I don't watch football at all. Im not into it, I couldnt name more than 2 guys on the bears (I live in Chicago). I actually am not a sports guy much at all. I have played football, baseball, hockey, and soccer, but the only one that ever stuck with me was hockey (I do enjoy PLAYING all sports though). To this day the only sport I get into is hockey, I am a huge Blackhawks fan (wearing a blackhawks cap as I type), and enjoyed playing hockey the most. Even in hockey though, I am terrible with names/stats, as it doesn't entertain me as it does most. I enjoy the sport and watching the team as a whole.

All my guys friends call me every name in the book (*****, woman, etc...) for this, but ehh... its just not for me.

To keep with your theme, I would trade Football Playoff tickets for: a ride in a cool car, a new video game, any new gadget, computers/computer parts, etc... So you are not alone!

I'm with you guys, I like watching some sports but the aspect and idea of going out and getting bat**** crazy over some sports team and over-reacting to every little thing that happens and goes on during the game just is not for me. I went to a pretty big college and went to a couple of tail-gating events for Saturday football and the only thing I could keep thinking in my head as I looked at all the obsessed people walking around and spitting profanities at any one person wearing opposing team garments was "tool". Not for me, would much rather just take a trip to the museum or watch a cool movie at an IMAX.

Fellow dork, nerd, and geek, here!! I don't watch sports at all. Unless you're willing to call professional wrestling a sport. ha ha

People seem to be amazed that I don't like sports. Go figure. :dunno:

Though I do love watching strong man competitions, if that's considered a sport.

Aaaah... I knew I liked you guys for a reason. lol Sports and me just never got along, despite my dad trying. He played minors for the Reds back in the day and is still a sports nut. Hell, mom was a cheerleader! How they got a twisted metalhead-artist-musician-writer out of me, I have NO idea. But, I'm proud of it and I'm too big for them to complain. :D

Silent Bob is not silent. That is all .
Who the fart invited you to the party?!?!?!

 Long time no see, Kathy! Hope all is well with you and the fam!!

Stupid FB, I got a virus from a stupid link that I was stupid enough to follow and it deleted exactly 1/2 of my friends list. I have no idea who. I dont use it very much.

I love all sports, but for me it rings true to say I appreciate the athlete themselves for their abilities and work ethic. Doesn't matter the sport, it's something to see an athlete, and it's something even more to know them and to be one.

Are you a fan of professional wrestling? Not a sport, but it takes some athletic ability and work ethic to do what they do and travel like they travel day in and day out. Also, have to admire their need for self mutilation at the expense of entertainment....

Definitely not a sport, but yes those guys are extremely talented. However pro wrestling to me quite honestly is filled with drama, and hardly watchable.

Oh i agree with the drama and watchable factor. Can't deny that those guys are athletes though.

Not really sure why I brought it up.....

All of us could have lived happily indefinitely without knowing about silent bob's O-face.

I know I've posted a few pictures here and there, but I do not recall posting my O-face. If I did then I am sorry gentlemen. And ladies, you're welcome :scared:

Zombie Fans:

There's a Zombie-Thon going down tonight and tomorrow night on AMC at 8 P.M. eastern time.
They're going to show the whole first season of The Walking Dead.

I'm guessing the first 3 episodes tonight and the last 3 episodes tomorrow night.

Enjoy!!!

We need a new reality show featuring zombies. Like "Dancing With The Dead" or "The Dead's Got Talent"..........something along those lines. :439:

Whaddup, homies!

Been having a problem all week gettin on here. I could see the main forum page, go into the most updated threads from there, but couldn't get any of the subforum pages to load. Anyone else?

Periodically I was having issues with that, bot they typically worked themselves out in 5-10 minutes.

At first, I thought that it was one of my computers, either at home or office, but it did it on both of 'em. Then i thought maybe it was Chrome, but Chrome is infallible so that couldn't possibly be it.

Eh, it's back. I'm happy.

I was having the same problems. Must have been a site thing. Nice to know it's fixed.

From my FB page this morning. I think it's TiM2 8:69 or something...

"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no zombies: For TiM art with me;
Thy shotgun and thy machete, they comfort me.
Thou preparest a slaughter before me in the presence of thy zombies;
Thou annointest my head with tequila; My shotglass runneth over."

he he he...

I had to go thru the subscribed threads to see anything, but couldn't get into any forum pages to see what new sh!t was going down :D

The best part about football is knowing that Boston has no reason to be happy right now, LOL....

And I'm not into sports, either.....sometimes UFC, def. WWE tho.......

If one considers motorcycling a sport - not the offroad, racing, or anything - then I guess that's one that I do. Not very physical, mind you, but ...

Eh, screw it. I just don't like sports. :P

They show the world scrabble championships on ESPN.

If bowling, fishing, and curling (e.g. with the granite stones and brooms) are sports, the definition of a "sport" is quite vague.

I personally feel that commercials decrease the level of enjoyment associated with sports. I can't watch professional football anymore because of the time between plays is so long that I lose interest by the time the play starts up again.

As much as I don't like soccer I do like how they do hour long blocks of commercial free coverage, and just put the sponsors name on the corner. I wish more sports did that.

I have to agree both with silentbob and mich29.

I feel more sports would be more enjoyable if they had longer commercial-free blocks, and if they said "GOAL!!!" when a team scored, regardless of what the sport is of if it is even referred to as a goal. Touchdown, homerun, slam dunk.... all reduced to "GOAL!!!"

Sometimes I scream goal at the end of when my wife and I are....

Ok, moving along... I dunno, maybe it's just me. The whole 'sports' thing just isn't in me. I'm not physically competitive - maybe mentally, though, if that makes any sense. I compete most with myself, which makes for reaching goals a lot more fun! I've never played football or wrestled, which are the two that I get "accused of" the most because of my size. I did a little baseball and basketball when I was a kid, but that was mostly my dad trying to get me interested in his interests. That failed. :) Even the whole "weight lifting thing" to me is just a hobby of sorts. I know that I don't live the life that some do, but I still put my heart into it and give it my all. I never want to compete, but I do want to be a better human being at the end.

I suppose if zombie-killing was a sport, I could get into it. Either that, or if it were legal to staple "Stupid" signs on peoples' heads, then I'd definitely get involved. Until those become legal - or reality for that matter - I'm just gonna go back to my own augmented reality and imagine...

I know Sinner and I are people-watchers. I guess that could be considered a sport! :D
