Shaddow vs. T-Roid & P-Plex

Unfortunately I learned the hard way :(

DONT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE SHADDOW!!

You know what a good way to kill two birds in one stone and those two stones being traps and forearms are?

Smith, One Arm Shrugs with the squat neck-pad on the bar. That neck pad makes the grip uber fat, which requires a ton more effort to maintain grip, not to mention static contractions require a huge amount of force.

Stand next to the smith, start with 135lbs, wrap the squat neck pad around the center of the smith-barbell and go to town. This exercise JACKS your forearm flexors to no end, way more effective then regular wrist curls.

Another added bonus with this fat grip is that you inherently perform the shrugs a bit slower and more controlled, because you'll be concerned about the bar slipping from the bottom of your grip if you pull up too fast.

I like!!

Well Im sold!

I don't get tingles from BA. Well, I do a little, but that's not the issue. The issue is my stomach. I am in the bathroom 20 minutes after taking it, and my stomach is a mess for hours. :dump: Totally affects my workout.

And the curls on Sunday were BB curls, a biceps movement, not wrist or forearm curls. I know not to rest-pause forearms. I just really feel it deep in my forearms, like the bone is about to snap in half. Same thing when I do heavy preacher curls. Light sets don't bother me, just heavy work. And the worst part is putting down the barbell. Right as I let go of the weight my forearms kill. :dunno:

BA gives me swine flu. I love BA's effects, but I get parasthesia so bad that I can actually be a hazard on the road if it kicks in on my drive to the gym and/or afterward.

Ive never heard of BA doing that  nutz!

And bro BB curls with FUKC up your forearms!

Silly billy!:borladuck:

Ya, BB curls are horrible. I use the EZ Bar more often than BB.

I don't do BB curls anymore either. It caused too much strain on the external rotation of my wrists and it got to a point where I couldn't open and close doors "normally," or drive with one hand. I slowly re-worked my ability to work bi's again via hammer db curls, where there was zero rotational strain on my wrists.

My ****ing head still hurts. Bad. I've had a non-stop headache since those squats yesterday, and it doesn't seem to be getting better. I'm starving, but I don't wanna move and prepare food, and I haven't eaten **** today. One meal, that's it. I need to hit the bank soon, so I'm gonna stop and grab a bite while I'm out. I'm way overdo for a cheat meal.

I'm pretty concerned with my headache though...

Have you taking anything for the head ache? An NSAID like Motrin can alleviate it slightly without the toxicity Tylenol gives the liver. An 800 mg dose should be sufficient

shaddow... I had this same problem. My headache got worse whenever I exerted myself. See a DR. ASAP. I went in for an MRI that day to be sure my brain was ok. Turns out I just have a severe sinus infection but this is no joke man. See a doctor.

Shadow, if you do not get help for your headaches, you can get a minor stroke that can have an impact for the rest of your life. think of a water balloon, when you add pressure, the fluid moves around and eventually reaches a thresh point that it explodes. so, your blood is now racing throughout your body because you have disrupted a natural balance of pressure that is found in your vesicles of your body that controls how fast your blood get's pump. overall, see doctor ASAP!!!!!

Bro, you need to get that checked out. That's just not normal. If it was induced by the workout it would have went away, at the most in a couple of hours.

to quote the great theologian Snoop D.O. double, "check yo self befo you wreck yo self." No but seriously. Unless you're actually just sick and this is a symptom of the illness, then the more then couple of hours headache brought on by the squats, as Irish mentioned, is enough to raise an eyebrow at.

I concur with everyone here and you should get it checked out. Have you checked you bp lately?

With all due respect, this is a bit of an unfounded assumption. Without being able to assess a wide range of factors - prior medical history, stress, average blood pressure, blood tests, a physical assessment and so on - suggesting he may have a stroke is presumptive at best!

Shaddow's persistent headaches may be entirely benign, for all we know; alarming him with a "stroke" is highly unfounded. This being said, I agree that if symptoms persist a doctor's opinion should be sought.

Ok, I'm back. Thanks to everyone for your concern!!! It means a lot!!

I went to the bank and hit up some Persian food for a cheat meal (Mmmmm... Kabobs). I stopped and picked up some Motrin on the way home; thanks MrBigPR for the suggestion. It's very rare that I take pain killers; I usually tough out everything (surgeries included - marijuana is usually my only pain reliever) but I'd had enough. Came back home, took some Motrin, and laid in bed with the gf and took a nap. Woke up feeling fine. I ate again around 10, and I'm about to eat again shortly. I'm still feeling ok.

I'm in a bit of a pickle right now because I'm between jobs and without health insurance, so I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed and monitor closely. If the headache comes back tomorrow I will probably pay the $400/mo. and sign up for Cobra Ins., and then go and see a dr. I think at this point that I will also attempt to workout tomorrow, but if the pain comes back at any point and my head starts hurting, I'll stop and be sure to see a dr.

I don't have a family history of strokes, so I'm not too concerned with that. I took my blood pressure and had a bit of a scare when it came up as 178/89, but I had my arm bent, so I took it two more times: 132/79 & 137/78. Nothing to get worried about there.

This was actually the second time this has happened to me. I'm gonna go through some previous logs and see if I mentioned it and when it last happened.

For now I'm just gonna take things one step at a time. If it comes back or gets worse I will definitely see a doctor. Thanks again to everyone for your concern.

I thought that was Ice Cube?

Glad you're feeling better, Shaddow! I hope it stays that way. I just took my BP the other day as well; 138/40. Meh. And that was on cycle.

Oh hai guise! I'm still awake, but tired and getting ready for bed. Just had to get one last solid meal in cuz I'm all out of protein powder and waiting on Nutra to bring back the ATW sale so I can stock up. (HTFU, Nutra! :D) I'm asking for suggestions/recommendations. I need to find a small tub of protein to temporarily get me through the next week or so. Vitamin Shoppe, GNC, Walmart, I don't care where it comes from - does anyone have any suggestions on something that is cheap and doesn't taste like ****? I normally do one scoop in the AM with my oatmeal, two scoops PWO, and 2 scoops in the middle of the night on a bathroom trip.

Oh, and I don't think I've mentioned this, but I'm taking a spoonful of Invalid Link Removed before bed for testosterone support after reading a study DAdams91982 posted in the Gold forum a while back.

DAdams states:

I have advocated utilizing virgin coconut oil right prior to bed during PCT because of the short chain sat. fats, and subsequent raise in testosterone because of which. I thought I would just share a study with the gold members that show some information.

So I might get scolded for posting this, but this is my log and its relevant to what I'm doing, so shhhhhh... Don't say anything. :p

Here's the study he posted:

Dietary lipids modify redox homeostasis and steroidogenic status in rat testis.
Hurtado de Catalfo GE, de Alaniz MJ, Marra CA.

Instituto de Investigaciones Bioquímicas de La Plata, CONICET-UNLP, Cátedra de Bioquímica, Facultad de Ciencias Médicas, Universidad Nacional de La Plata, La Plata, Argentina.

OBJECTIVE: The present study explored the effect of dietary oils on lipid composition, antioxidant status, and the activity of the main steroidogenic enzymes in the testis. METHODS: Forty Wistar rats were randomly assigned to one of four groups (n = 10) fed for 60 d on the same basal diet plus different lipid sources as commercial oils: soybean, olive, coconut, or grapeseed. After sacrifice, testicular lipids and fatty acid composition, free radical biomarkers, antioxidant levels, hormones, and steroidogenic enzymes were determined. RESULTS: The lipid composition of diets produced significant changes in neutral/phospholipids, free/esterified cholesterol, and plasmalogen proportion. Fatty acid patterns of these lipids were also strongly modified, influencing the double bond index. We also found a close correlation between the type of diet and the generation of free radicals. The oxidative stress in testes was higher with the grapeseed oil-supplemented diet and decreased with the other diets in this order: soybean oil > olive oil > coconut oil. Animals fed with the olive oil and coconut oil diets showed the highest testicular levels of antioxidants in addition to significantly high levels of testosterone and 3beta- or 17beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase enzymes. CONCLUSION: Different oils in the diets strongly modified the homeostasis of the testicular antioxidant defense system and, in consequence, affected steroidogenic function, showing a clear correlation with the damage induced. According to our results, an appropriate mixture of olive and soybean oils could be a healthy recommendation.

Ok, now I'm going to sleep.

Don't overdo the coconut oil, man! It may help with Test, but at higher amounts definitely puts the fat on. When I use it, I like to take 1/2tbsp pre-bed.

Oh, and I'd just go with Wal-Mart protein for the week. Their Body Fortress stuff ain't too bad. I used to use that as a backup protein. I'd always keep 2lb on me in case I ran out of my regular stuff. They also sell EAS; that may even be better. I'm not sure of the cost.

Walgreens and some grocery stores also carry a small tub of ON whey

You could purchase a Whey Cow. They sell them in Nepal. It excretes unflavored powder. Just add some stevia. They go for about 2 million rupees. You could also trade your girlfriend for one. They won't refuse either form of payment.

A 40,000 dollar whey cow would take approximately 60 years to yield a positive return for my whey consumption...

How long do these Whey beasts live?!

Ya, but I mean, these suckers are like the size of a beagle. You could take one with you everywhere you go. How can someone put a price tag on convenience?

"Aw crap, it's been three hours. I need something to eat!...Whey cow, Produce."

10 seconds later.

"Thank you kindly."

And you have a shake. Nothing beats it, bro. It's natural. It's delicious. It's good for you. - You just can't top that. No tub of ON Extreme Chocolate Whey is ever going to be as good as Whey Cow Whey.

As far as life span, they live on average for 227 years; however, you have to mate them in large Whey Cow Orgies (50 to 1 ratio of males to females - It's gruesome for the female), and they have a very low libido, so they don't reproduce very often...hence the price.

Can I get a whey cow mortgage or perhaps a tax deductable payment plan? 40 grand is an awful large layout for whey - no matter the convenience.

Also, what would be the result if say... a human were to mate with said whey cow? I mean, not me, just in general.... you know... :ntome:

The Bank of Whey Cow offers reasonable payment plans starting as low as 5 children per year, or $2k/yr. However, due to the low rates, the bank does require you signing a waver relinquishing your life and freedoms to the Nepalese government if you fail to pay. Slavery was abolished in the 1940's, but, as stated...

III - Slavery amendment does not apply to Whey Cow purchase

Also, what would be the result if say... a human were to mate with said whey cow? I mean, not me, just in general.... you know... :ntome:

Most likely this would never happen. As I said, the Whey Cows have terribly low libidos, and would probably be so verbally abusive to "said person" that they wouldn't even want to have sex with it...if "said person" did in fact rape the animal, then I'd suggest he grow a beard, purchase explosives, and join Al Qaeda.

Whatever happens, don't let the Nepalese find out about a Whey Cow rape; they love those cows more than their own daughters.

Timbers on teh epis! Thats what happened

hahaha
