Review My Stack (teen)

New member
Hi,

I'm almost 17 and I've been working out for a while. I currently weight 165 pounds (I was very light when I started) and I'm really looking to bulk up. I have a killer diet and I'm working my ass off in the gym all the time. That stuff is in check. I know I need to eat a lot and work hard for someone my age to get optimal gains. Steroids are very tempting but I just think I have so much more natural potential, and if my mom found out that I was taking them, she would be really upset, and I can't do that to her. I will possibly consider taking them when I am older. So I've decided to stay natty for now. Here is my natty stack for bulking (not including whey, multivitamins, and fish oil that I will be taking as dietary supplements)

Creatine by MusclePharm
musclepharm.com/creatine
I chose this brand because I am currently taking con cret which I like and this contains it and is cheaper

Anabeta by PES
nutraplanet.com/product/pesupplments/anabeta-120-caps.html

Gear by Need2BuildMuscle
nutraplanet.com/product/need-to-build-muscle/gear-200-capsules.html

Agmatine by SNS
nutraplanet.com/product/serious-nutrition-solutions/agmatine-90-capsules.html

How does this stack sound? Will it suit my needs? Any additions or subtractions to this stack recommended?

Thanks

Second that opinion your to young to get to in depth with supplements, stick with eating good food like you say you are, take protein, creatine and a good multi vitamin the gains will come you are so young as is no point in doing all that stuff now.

you're 17. stick with getting your diet and training in order for now, all the hormones going in your body right now are perfect for growing, you dont need a bunch of supps to help..

stick to the basics:
Multi - orange triad is pretty much my top choice. life source if you're on a budget
Protein - Myofusion is delicious, xtreme formulations UP 2.0 LCP/cinn roll are orgasmic, and XF whey's are pretty good too *protein is protein, just find one you like the taste of and stick with it, you wont see a difference in gains from one to the other*
Creatine - bulk mono, 5g a day, no loading, dont really need to "cycle" it, dont need to take it with sugar or anything, and you can take it any time of day, its all about saturation not timing.

hope that helps

EDIT:
i see you mentioned agmatine....while its not necessary, i see no real harm in picking up a bottle from SNS....500mg-1g pre for an awesome pump

What about gear by need2buildmuscle? I researched the ingredients and it doesn't seem to have anything remotely harmful or hormonal. It just seems like a really good nutrient partitioner.

The ONLY product that you need to use in your stack is CREATINE!

At your age, you don't really need any supplements but the Invalid Link Removed (creatine, multivitamin, good fats, protein, and BCAAs) to gain mass - at your body mass, the only ones I recommend that you get areuse a multivitamin and creatine, since you should be able to get all your good fats protein, and BCAAs needs from your nutrition. I I don't recommend using anything else but these basic staples until you are older and have built up a solid training base - NUTRITION AND TRAINING are what are going to get you results!

You've only 17 years old - you definitely do NOT need to consider the hormonal route, if ever, until you have been training for a long, long time and come close, if not achieved your maximum natural potential - NUTRITION AND TRAINING are what are going to get you results!

If you want gains, Invalid Link Removed and no supplement is going to help you gain muscle if you're not eating for it, period! NUTRITION and TRAINING are the two factors that you need to focus on. FOOD, FOOD, and MORE FOOD is going to be IMPORTANT - if you want muscle gains, you needs to EAT for it!

You say that "I have a killer diet and I'm working my ass off in the gym all the time. That stuff is in check." - if that's true, then you should be getting results, period, and if you're NOT getting the results that you want, then you need to reassess what you're doing.

Next to nutrition for mass is training. You have to be training correctly for mass - check out the article Invalid Link Removed for an idea of how to train correctly for mass. And although Invalid Link Removed is in the fat loss section, the same exercises that are best for fat loss are also the best for gaining muscle! You also need to get adequate recovery, since it's in your RECOVERY that you GROW (if you are eating enough).

Unless what you have is already thus, I recommend getting a trainer who know what they are doing designing a training programme and nutrition plan individualized specifically for YOU for your goals and needs. If you can't afford a professional trainer, then continue to take some time out to research and look around, because there is a TON of information on training for mass, adjusting what you do along the way as you experiment to find what works for you! And remember to be CONSISTENT and stick with something for at least 4-8 weeks to give it a chance - changing everything every week is not the way to get results.

Exactly!

Whether it has anything harmful or hormonal in it is IRrelevant - you do NOT need anything more than the basic staples at your age. Even older, you can still get great results with nothing but the basic staples - I have several clients who I have using ONLY the basic staples, much to their initial dismay, but they are seeing through their progress, that they do not need anything more if their nutrition and training are set up correctly for them for their goals.

^^^^^this, at your age eat, sleep, and train is all you need.

Wow thanks for the long and detailed reply!

I am in fact getting results from eating and working out. I was doing hell raiser training for a long time and just recently decided to try phat but didn't like it so now I am going to try madcows (because I know many teens who have had success with that routine). As I said in OP, I agree with all these people that eating, sleeping, workout, and staples (i.e. whey, multi, omegas, creatine, etc.) are the most important. I am simply asking from the perspective of why not also take other supplements that could take my gains to the next level? Of course it's not worth taking anything harmful, but when I looked into these products individually they all seemed like they would be ok for me, but what do I know? lol

I guess I will just spend my extra supplement cash on a good preworkout because I'm always tired after school and can't always put 100% into my workouts. =D

No worries :)

If you're getting results, then there's no need to change it up until you plateau - even then, the first factors you look at and reassess are NUTRITION AND TRAINING, period!

Taking other supplements on top of the basics do NOT mean that your gains are going to be taken "to the next level" - don't place so much importance and emphasis on supplements; they should only be used to SUPPLEMENT your NUTRITION AND TRAINING and nothing more, and, as everyone has said, really completely unnecessary for anyone your age, regardless of whether or not they seem "like they would be ok". That aside, I really do recommend that you do as much reading on different supplements as possible, just so that you DO know and understanf what they are and do, for when you DO have that training experience and base and consider using them (nothing under 21 years old, IMO - and that is if you are training right until that age; if your training is not right, then older).

You don't need to use a preworkout product - reiterating about the BASICS; you're better off spending any extra money on decent food, etc., or just saving it.

If you're tired, then make sure you're getting enough sleep, eating enough and timing your meals efficiently re energy (seriously, with all due respect, whenever anyone says that they have their nutrition "right", or "killer" in your case, more often than not, it's not really that great and could use a lot of improvement, so just make sure that it is indeed "killer"), and minimizing outside stress as much as possible.

Heed these words and advice and follow young man...this is "free" advice and it comes from respected people with great experience.
I got roped into all this supplements use at 18, got big, strong but fat.
Since becoming a distance runner, and semin professional cricketer with some strength knowledge and experience,I am faster, fitter and happier now and it was the basics like eating I lost out on...eat sh1t get sh1t ROI.
Invest in a good basic plan, clean foods with minimal processing, and recover. No such thing as overtraining, it is under recovery.

Train hard, eat and sleep

Enjoy :)

All of the above is sound advice. Stick to protein, food, lifting big and resting up. You can pick up a multi (Orange TRIad is a good one!) but that's all you need imo
