products that were found to contain the wrong stuff

All I'm saying is that none of this stuff is tested for because the FDA does not mandate it. Companies do not test for it because it is not mandated and it is expensive. But it's not just supplements, look at how much crap is going on with food in general. The FDA can't police it all. They are supposed to be getting more power but think about how much crap is imported or even the stuff that is produced here. Look at bisphenol A in baby bottles and now they found that perfluoroalkyls in fast food wrappers is getting into your blood stream. My point is that none of this is easy, it is all very expensive to test for and there are plenty of raw materials suppliers out there (not just in China either) who would sell you crap in a bag to make 5 cents more profit. So, while the supplement industry is a cesspool consider these ther facts too.

Oh, and wrap your brain around this: When the BS went down about melamine in baby formula, what did the FDA do? They set maximum acceptable limits. Maximum acceptable limits of an industial adulterant that has to be intentionally added to the product. Wouldn't it just be easier to not add in this poison so that the acceptable limit wold be ZERO!!! Guess what companies produce most of the baby formula...

and don't forget the big multinational owned farms in california, new mexico, arizona who rely on illegal immigrants to work for slave wages-and treat them like crap. who could blame these illegals if they urinated or deficated on the produce after being taken advantage of by american big business. face it-the leaders of industry are not very nice people, and will do anything/everything to make an extra buck.

and who has to pay the price for corporate greed?????

"you must spread some reputaion around before giving it to the bigt again"

Hmmm. Agreed. Oh god of heaven I pray that you pull Down the wicked and raise up the righteous in this country!! that is my immediate prayer for all of us!:wave2:

this country seems to have lost it's moral compass.

making a ton of money doesn't justify the means you use to get it.

You mean test booster with PH in it?
How about weight loss product with prescription drug in it?

Those were not on the label...

I don't think it's a reflection of American people in general. The sad truth of the world is, a lot of horder personalities rise to power because they are greedy. These are the people who have more money than they ever plan to spend, and they keep working to get more, because they like to hord.

Yes those would be excelant examples, but it really doesn't even have to be extreme.

Or Xtreme, as the case of implication here lies. Reference my prior post to address this. :thanks:

I'll run with this tangent! I hate greed, although I will admit that I "want". Perhaps I'm different, but what I "want" is even modest. For instance, i want another vehicle. I want a late 80s Dodge pickup. Could I want a Bugatti Veyron? Heck yeah!! But, I'd be happy with the truck. Problem is that most want the best and when they have it, they want more. Nobody, atleast in this country, seems content anymore!! It's a cryin' shame...

What people will do for money? Well that pretty much doesn't have limitations that I know of. Would you kill your best friend so that your family can have whatever they want and live in total comfort for the rest of their lives? If you'd say no without a second thought, good for you. If not, welcome to America. And it's not just "things" and "people"...it's userpers inn general!! EG - wife/daughter were going up to her grandparents tomorrow to stay till Monday night. All of the sudden, no room at the inn - Pastor called and said the guest speakers for Sunday were coming in tomorrow and they needed a place to stay for the night, so she told them it'd be fine to stay at my in-laws...without asking!!! Now, I can understand charity and all that stuff, but c'mon now. There's a limit to how much one can take AND take for granted!!!

Same with this industry - the fly-by-night PH and clone companies are rolling over nowadays due to new and future regulations put on us all. If a tiny company started up in a kitchen somewhere to copy Phera, did all the capping, labelling and shipping from someone's house yet looked absolutely professional in their "marketing", then we've all been duped by them! Do what you will to make a buck...a philosophy that I simply do NOT agree with when it comes to pure greed. If you truly need the money for the necessities of life, then ok. But just to be greedy? Shame on you...

Still have heard about nothing concerning a bomb being dropped.

i think that was a troll post... otherwise im sure by NOW we would have heard this crazy anonymous accusation come to light.

what was the myofusion thing again?

A couple of lab tests said it had less protein that the label stated. Gaspari issued a statement saying they stand behind their product and that moisture content can affect the results.

My buddy and I got two tubs that were pure unflavored protein, no flavoring and no creamer so I think there could have been a manufacturing issue rather than a deliberate attempt to scam. Just a thought. If there was a manufacturing issue and they knew it and still issued the statement, then...

i agree......but with a company as large as gaspari, you would think they would be more hands on with quality control. i run a high speed flexo/folder gluer, our profit margin is very low but we scrap a lot of product that isn't up to spec. with what they charge for a jug of myofusion you would think they would catch stuff like this before it goes out to the consumer.

not picking on gaspari........just saying.

yea make me question their anavit, which i also use...this is upsetting considering i was liking the direction they were going

I hear ya. When I called them, they played dumb. VPX did the same on a bad batch of Powershock I got. It's impossible only one or two containers were messed up.

not if it was end of shift or power failure-a good operator would throw out all the stuff that was in the machine when it went down, but if you have a lazy operator they will just run it through. everything that was half through the line when it went down goes through the line as finished product. it is possible there were only a few bad jugs-but even a few shouldn't happen-not with the price they are charging for a jug of myofusion.

Obviously, it wasn't a troll post, at least, I hope not...wouldn't look very good for him if it was being that he's a known member....

How much less are we talking here? Are we talking 5 grams or 50 grams per serving, for instance.

As we have had so few examples on topic I thought it made sense to ask some specific questions;
- What products didn't meet label claims?
- What contained tainted ingredients?
- What has been recalled for safety considerations?

I saw a test of some of the major manufacturers protein powders (who have a big presence in the UK) and Dymatize Elite Whey was the lowest on protein. I would give some more specifics but it was years ago and the forum is closed now with no archives available.

wasnt ON 100% whey tested lower on protein levels than stated also, a couple years back?

id like to know much more about the Need2 products in suspicion as im taking need2slin at the moment. and threads like this can scare a few of us....

please do tell guys....

this is a double edged sword....

there needs to be some quality/truth control....but what the Feds (John McCain) would like to do is not the answer.

At this point I would rather wade through the products I will try, and single out the crap...and use what works for me. As opposed to requiring a prescription for expensive vitamin C and fish oil

Can someone please promise to PM me when this "bomb" is dropped. Honestly, I am pretty confident in the stuff I take, but would like the knowledge in case it is something I have/am considering, and I really don't feel like following another thread that will turn into a flame war closely to find out.

ALRI was caught
on several products

ALRI was caught deliberately putting "potential" harmful ingredients into their products. Now, when I say potentially, I mean that for an unknowing person; however, a knowing person could take the product with little worry.

Snooping people on 1gram of protein and purposely sticking a steroid in a "natural" product is not the same.

Dymatize was caught under filling their protein? Do you remember how much was missing?

just deal with companys that are reputable. this forum is cheap advertizing, if you have a legit problem with a supp you bought 90% of companys that have a presence here will be eager to replace it, to keep their good name.

please don't abuse this and f' it up for guys who might really have a problem!!!

not sure what you're saying here..

my point was that YES the industry needs some control...but it should not go as far as what the feds want.

i think the "bomb" is related to the discontinued Thermogenic Thyrotabs, since the same poster recently made a similarly cryptic post on bb.com in an old Thyrotab thread. I also recall some Thermolife rep was looking for certain batches of Thyrotabs a while back to test and assured everyone they would flip over the results...

damn-what don't you understand.

my point was that keeping a good name is very important to company's on this forum. if someone has a legitimate problem 90% will make it right.

the part about abusing this is 'jackwagons' will say something is bad just for free product. we don't want that-this will f' it up for those who are legit.

now do you understand!!!!!!!

geezus.

btw-i am against the government being involved in supplements-haven't they screwed up enough stuff already.

war on drugs my ass:booty:

Whoah man.

I don't think I've said anything to warrant a response like this.

I simply said what I did about the govt getting involved and you are labeling me as a jackwagon who wants free product.

It was me simply stating I will single out products that don't work for ME, I never said they are bad products or won't work for someone else.

this wasn't aimed at you carpee-it was a general statement that there are some 'jackwagons' out there who screw things up for the rest of us.

because i used your qoute i think i see why you might think i was pointing at you-i was not.

i apologize for making it look like i was aiming my remark at you!!! i assure you this was not my intention.

The problem that I have seen over the past 15yrs is that it is hard to find a company that is reputable. What constitutes reputable? I mean, i am pretty good buds with quite a few people from companies and/or their owners and still those companies, I feel, are borderline shady.

It is just hard to tell who is and who is not reputable now a days. Companies that i thought would never have had an issue are turning up having issues....on the flip side of that coin, many solid companies do not offer all of the products that one may seek.
