Prayer Request Thread

Hey everyone, i will not be around for a bit but my family could use some extra prayers.

We are going to lose our 20 week pregnancy tomorrow due to complications and chromosomal defects in the baby. It has been a real pressing time for my family and has even shaken my faith. I find myself asking myself why and how such things can happen to the life of an unborn.

Please send some extra prayers my families way.

Bud, I'm truly sorry to hear that! please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers!

I have not been active in this thread lately, but I can see there is a reason I visited it today.

all the best brother!

You have my deepest sympathy DAdams. I will most certainly be praying for you and your family to have strength and love in this time of sorrow. Also, that your faith and the faith of your family remain strong in Christ.

I've been holding off on posting last Sunday's service, now I know why.

My Doubts Haunt Me

Without doubt there is no such things as faith.

Matthew 14:22-33
22 Immediately Jesus made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him to the other side, while He sent the multitudes away. 23 And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there. 24 But the boat was now in the middle of the sea,[a] tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary.
25 Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. 26 And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear.
27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.”
28 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”
29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”
31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” 32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.
33 Then those who were in the boat came and[c] worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God.”

How To Handle My Doubts.
1) Confront your doubts.

Matthew 11:2-3
2 And when John had heard in prison about the works of Christ, he sent two of[a] his disciples 3 and said to Him, “Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?”

2) Proverbs 3:5
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;

3) Act on what you know.

Matthew 16:1-4
1 Then the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and testing Him asked that He would show them a sign from heaven. 2 He answered and said to them, “When it is evening you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red’; 3 and in the morning, ‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Hypocrites![a] You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times. 4 A wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign shall be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.” And He left them and departed.

Father in heaven, God of power and Lord of mercy, from Whose fullness we have received, direct our steps in our every day efforts. May the changing moods of the human heart and the limits which our failings impose on hope never blind us to You, source of every good. Faith gives us the promise of peace and makes known the demands of love. Remove the selfishness that blurs the vision of faith. Amen.

It's been way too long that this thread has sat dormant and while I have been neglecting this thread I have not been neglecting my prayer life. I pray that you all are well, especially spiritually.

Ephesians 6:18-19
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel,

Prayer request for my co-workers who are about to get laid-off in July :( Times are tough and even Corrections (which used to be a safe bet) is being affected by the economic downturn. These men and women have kids and mortgages to worry about so I wish them the best and I hope that God looks out for their them in these tough times.

Times are definitely tough and sadly they are going to get worse. Prayers out to your co-workers IW and everyone else who is laid off and looking for work right now as well.

I am sorry for your situation. May the Almighty shower all his blessing for a happy, prosperous and peaceful life! Please visualize that you are living a happy and prosperous life. Your positive thought and attitude make wonders.

I am so glad my God is merciful!

Matthew 24 (King James Version)

Matthew 24:6-8

6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Amen Bucknuts!

I wanted to add this passage which I was sharing with a brother today.

1 Peter 4:14-19

2 Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you;

13 but to the degree that you share the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing, so that also at the revelation of His glory you may rejoice with exultation.

14 If you are reviled for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.

15 Make sure that none of you suffers as a murderer, or thief, or evildoer, or a troublesome meddler;

16but if anyone suffers as a Christian, he is not to be ashamed, but is to glorify God in this name.

17For it is time for judgment to begin with the household of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?

18 AND IF IT IS WITH DIFFICULTY THAT THE RIGHTEOUS IS SAVED, WHAT WILL BECOME OF THE GODLESS MAN AND THE SINNER?

19Therefore, those also who suffer according to the will of God shall entrust their souls to a faithful Creator in doing what is right.

I know i questioned everything the past few weeks and asked "WHY ME!" but I can be sure that I am not suffering as a criminal for a crime I committed, but am suffering as a Christian for standing up for my son and stepping up to the plate, meaning the Glory of God rests upon me and the judgment has and is beginning in the house of God, and the beauty is we have a Hope in Christ whereas those who mock us for our beliefs and taunt us have absolutely no hope whatsoever.

May God bless us all in these fiery times that have fallen upon the earth. I hope to meet you all one day on the Sea of Glass brethren.

It is innate within all of us to complain from time to time brother, you have been going through a lot for your son and God knows your heart is in the right place. Stay strong keep fighting the good fight. I will be praying for you. Regardless of what happens on this earth I am never all that anxious about it our God was good enough to tell us how things turn out in the end. Jesus has promised that we as his followers will suffer persecution as a result of our love for Him. These are just a few scriptures there are many more as well as many scriptures pertaining to how to respond to persecution, the purpose of it , the reward for it etc. It's a great Bible study.

Matthew 24:9 "Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me."

John 15: 18 & 19
18 “If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. 19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

Luke 21:16-19
16 You will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, relatives and friends; and they will put some of you to death. 17 And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. 18 But not a hair of your head shall be lost. 19 By your patience possess your souls.

Brothers & Sisters,
I am continuing to fight the good fight and at times feel hopeless, but I know that God is with me and my son.

I had been giving some thought quietly and it was confirmed today by someone, and that is I should start a support group for fathers here in town, locally.

A huge gap exists, and we have dads\husbands\boyfriends and their children who are collateral damage as a result of a relationship that has disintegrated due to active and ongoing addiction.

I already have a volunteer counselor who can help facilitate, and will be working on a website over the weekend and put up something.
Fathers in general have a harder time getting custody of their children, and are often maligned and slandered against with no just reason or cause.

It is my hope that God will shine His countenance and lead my footsteps to be able to generate a support group for other dad's who actually do care and can provide better for their children in a safe, loving and nurturing environment.

Keep me in your prayers as well as my son whom I love and if you guys saw him, he would steal your heart as well.
God Bless you all,
MK9

Go for it! This is the best reward that can come from hard lessons... surviving it, overcoming the problems related to it, then turning it into something that benefits others (and yourself in the process). God bless you, your son, and this new project, my friend.

just want u guys to know this thread always lifts me up and the trying times are the ones which helps our faith grow

the crazy ex is at it again, this time with a lawsuit, and yet again, trying to get custody.. pray that this will end in my favor, and that this will be the final nail in the coffin so to speak. the past few years have been ridiculous and I dont know how much more of this i can put up with.

You are in my prayers and your whole situation I am praying for as well. They (disgruntled, bad mothers) will generally cause a lot of noise with very little to no substance to back it up.
Unfortunately you have to defend yourself and clear your good name. No child should be with a bad mom period, and we have had some exchanges where I have a bit of an idea of what you are dealing with.
Remember that The Angel of The Lord encampeth round about them who fear Him and delivereth them.

Awesome Thread btw!!! I'm subscribing my fellow brethren!!! I love reading these. For some reason the moment I seen this thread I thought of this bands breakdown;
"NOTHING stands between a man, and his M A K E R!!!! Here the strongest fall to their knees, & the lost find their way back home.

"Lord, I love you
and I need you,
Come into my heart,
and bless me,
My
family, my home, my
finances,
And all of my
friends,
In
Jesus' name.
Amen."

Please Lord be with me tomorrow in court, and I ask that my brothers pray for me tomorrow morning in hopes that I come out victorious.

I prayed for you this morning, and I know that The Lord will be with you accompanying you in this situation .
Jesus promised to never leave us alone even though we may feel lonely, we aren't alone as He is with us navigating us through the stormy waters of life.
I know this is difficult, and God has shared with us something very valuable found here:
Philippians 4:6–7
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

God Bless,
MK9

I was thinking about a situation in the Bible where Joshua had to be comforted by God Himself and receive encouragement for his task at hand, and that was to lead God's people to the promise land.

The idea is not that we are leading people to the promised land, but that there are times, many times when we feel alone, and stand alone to do the right thing.

This applies to all of us, especially Tatoopierced on this day today.

Joshua 1:5-9

5There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

6Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.

7Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper withersoever thou goest.

8This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

9Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

It's KJV, and I felt it conveyed the thought very well, plus editing from the NASB was going to be a bit much :D

I believe the lawsuit will be dropped, but the hearing got delayed until August. I feel better though, as my lawyer doesnt think her reasons will be enough of a leg to stand on considering what she has done, compared to me who has been following the rules. She already has told her lawyer conflicting stories, so only time will tell.

That's great TP, keep the faith and all will be good.

feeling overwhelmed as i transition from college to full-time.

no clue which direction to head, etc...

really just need some prayer!

@Future: I prayed for your friends marriage situation. It seems that the devils target is Holy matrimony which was instituted at creation when Adam & Eve became one flesh. It's an old strategy of divide and conquer. I have asked that God lead your friend(s) safely through these stormy seas. Regardless of the end result, we know that ultimately God\s will shall be done even if we do not comprehend it.

@TP: Keep strong in Christ, even when we are weak He is able and willing to carry us through. The rain falls on the just and the wicked, but always remember that one day the wicked will no longer be there, only the faithful shall remain. You are in my prayers daily my friend.

@Carpee: What a great opportunity God has given you to have some options :D Transitions can be difficult. I prayed for you as well seeing that being overwhelmed can often lead someone to make hasty decisions that may not be the best.

May we continue to have an open heart to Jesus and an open ear to hear when He calls. Remember brothers and sisters even though we are not physically present this is a form of fellowship where we can provoke one another to good works and praise Jesus for all the He has done for us.

God Bless,
MK9

Amen to that brother!

I really need to get closer to the Lord again, I'm very disappointed in myself not putting God #1 in my life, I really need to change that.

I am going to a Men's Encounter this weekend as a server and give my testimony. It is a three day event where men come together to find true freedom in Christ. I ask for prayers for the men attending and the men serving to have open hearts to be able to listen to what the Lord has to say to them.

God Bless the fact that i dont have anything to do with/use cocaine anymore. Over a year and some clean. It took friends away, family is very forgiving but still have hard feelings with some. Overall i lost about 3 years of my life due to white ****ing powder that didnt do anything but fry my brain to an egg. Also it took the skin between my nostrils lol.

Thanks!

That is awesome! What do you do for your recovery?

Well, for recovery i went to a couple rehab facilities,i ended up having to go to Alabama for one of the rehab centers,it was the Lighthouse in Alexander City. Thats where i finaly recovered. As for everyday recovery and trying to stay off of it,now i smoke weed lol, safest alternative,it REALLY helps with the battle of staying off.

Congrats buddy! Great to see you have changed your life around for the better.

Thanks man,it was really ****ing me up. When i was at my lowest point,i was buying a kilogram every like 3 or 4 months of coke, and at 24 grand a Kilogram,**** was expensive. When i was living at the beach i would go out to the bars with buddys and EVERY weekend i was getting kicked out,id be coked out of my mind, and somebody would look at me wrong or something, and i went on there ass,if body guards hadnt pulled me off on pretty much every bar fight i would be in prison right now for murder. ****s for the birds man,its for the birds.

Men's Encounter went great! A guy that was in my cabin gave his life to the Lord!! Many others in the Encounter dedicated theirs lives again after going astray for a while! It was really awesome to see the Holy Spirit moving in so many lives at once!! Thanks for the prayers but I ask for more prayers for these men. They are on a high right now and they need to be strong for when they have to go through the valleys (or trials).
