It's definitely nice having a gym partner you are comfortable with & trust. He's quick to call me out on my form, but is just as quick to compliment me. I'm the same way with him too. So, we push each other to be better everyday.
My gf and I are normally exactly the same way, but she subluxed her shoulder over the summer when working out without me, so now she's very limited mostly to leg workouts and is going through physical therapy.. Luckily there are plenty of friends and such that jump at the opportunity to lift with me lol
There are times we do lift seperately. For instance I probably will be tomorrow because I'm stuck at my Mom's due to flooding. So, will workout here while he is at home. I prefer to lift by myself if I'm not with him though. I'm a bit bias when it comes to workout buddies!!
