Never Listen to Milas about RecoverPro

Rodja and I have been at friendly odds on this for years. Him Zir red and I have had discussions on several occasions. Some of their issues I actually agree with, but are the ones that are not inherent necessarily to the program itself, but rather to trainers, skill levels, methods, quality control, etc. these things are are seen it the way one gets certified to teach and how well they do. Their are crossfit gyms with trainers who are awesome and don't do things like throw their patrons into difficult technical lifts like the snatch without proper experience etc and have a strict regimen how they progress their students. Then there are crapy trainers who simply go through the motions and people get hurt. This is the reason why Robb Wolfe broke ties with crossfit. Not because of issues with the program, but it's quality control. You wrote that it's not a workout routine or a lifestyle. Whether one thinks it's a good routine or not it obviously is one and more then obviously a lifestyle, hell I'll even admit to an obnoxious level sometimes.

Agreed. If the goal is looking like a bodybuilder, I'd steer clear from crossfit; it works, but it's a bitch haha. For performance and overall fitness, crossfit is great.

Being in the military and some of the training and selection process I've had to go through and seen many many others do it has been tremendous for us. Real world results culminated in combat.

A lot of commanders are starting to not allow crossfit due to the injuries etc...

Selection process... You SF?

More and more allow it though. The joint base that I'm attached to has a contract with a local crossfit affiliate to run classes 5 days a week on base. Though most of those injuries and such come from what I was mentioning before. Quality control. Who is training them, have they been trained appropriate to do the WOD etc. majority of the time it's them doing it on their own or a motivated NCO who doesn't truly know the snatch himself. They were breaking people before when all they used to do was calisthenics and run. I have yet to hardly see any unit truly flow any proper progressive training when it even comes to running. It's like a bad song on repeat... 3 miles every time then bam some motivated ******* decides to take them on a stupid long run following it up with lunges across a football field followed by firemans carry across the football field etc etc and everyone walks funny for 4 days.

Oh, and I'm a Navy Corpsman so SF is the wrong branch ;)

Got ya! I remember reading an article a whole back about a seal that ended up dying from cross fit. Hear anything about that?

Sure it wasn't just a workout or something named after a SEAL? Otherwise I hadn't heard.

Time to slam back a bottle of black liver and hit the rack. My dreams will never want again.

And good night Milas! Where ever you are.

I had a can of black liver last night to ease myself into sleep. It was so crispy!

Ok...maybe I went a little overboard earlier. I have so my damn hormones running through my blood right now, that aggression is a reoccurring thing for me.

Here I thought roid rage and nerd rage were mutually exclusive. It appears I was mistaken.

We are almost at page 500.

To celebrate, we will all let Blake send me the Thiomucase I should have got about a year ago!

Woo calling out a RecoverBro.

I have done it several times lol. I lost in the end because he offered to buy it with his rep pennies and send it to me.

Then I lost my advantage because he trumped it with generosity.

Are you saying you have bigger rep pennies?

Haha. I just set the clippers on a 1-guard for the chest to keep it down and tame. Since I'm not ripped, atm, I'm not concerned with shaving it. Just had a great chest session, today, so when everything was popping, I figured I'd snap a pic. It doesn't really do it justice, but the thickness of my back and chest right now is pretty crazy (at least that's one perk weighing as much as I do).

Your pecs are certainly popping pretty good there. It's funny how much us recoverbros are telepathy connected cause I just trimmed up too. I like it a little closer so I do no guard but use the slight extension lever.

I appreciate that, bro, but it's all there (and I know how to frame that picture properly to hide it lol). It's primarily all on the obliques and lower stomach, but even some on the inner thighs now that I never had in the past. All in all, it could be worse, but considering I've been lifting for 12+ years and eat the way that I do, I should be on model status by now lol.

You still have:

A) Leaner Physique and
B) A serious Couple AND
C) More strength than

99% of this worlds population...so...You are still a solid Mid West Beast :) , mightier than the wild Buffalo!

You and Ben can both be my pin-up models!

Thanks for the compliments, bro. They're appreciated.

That's actually what half of the problem was when this started. Everyone said that and no one seemed to mind the fact that I was gaining weight and couldn't lose. It took hitting 260+ for anyone to take notice/believe me. The big problem is that I'm not happy being better than the majority of the population; I strive to be the best.

But anywho, too much seriousness in this thread.

Words are true bro, and yeah I feel yah on that...I just stopped trying in that sense...and merely started looking at it under the light of: "Being the best MAN I can be" always competing with my past "me's" :). As for the seriousness...a wise Nathan once said:

I imagine a night "cardio" session with a megadose of Cy-Cy would yield better sleep-aid-like-effects and a development of the hip abductors ;) If You Know What I mean!

Yup, this is what I love about being small and unnoticeable lol, the only thing I heard about my new avy was that I looked like a GQ cover haha! I did not get the manjuice compliments :p and I am sooooooo glad about not being ben or blake right now hahahaha

Not a big fan of most fruit punch flavors but the new electrolyte version of the MBCAA with the fruit punch flavor is pretty tasty! Doesn't stain my tongue red from dyes either cause there aren't any! ;-)

What is this discussion of electrolyte MBCAA?
